I booked the stay for my elderly parents. They have told me so many lovely things about the property: the setting along the Bitou estuary, the bedrooms, the views and the hosts who were exceptionally attentive and caring and friendly. They even booked a restaurant for my folks that was wheelchair friendly. My dad raved about the breakfasts, saying they were better than breakfasts he has had in 5-star hotels all over the world. My mom loved the tranquility and sounds of nature. Thank you so much for making my parents' stay so special.

The staff was very friendly, we felt warmly welcomed, they also brought us gluten free rusks. The place is beautiful, and it is a nice spot to relax and be in nature. The breakfast was delicious, although for the price, there could have been better options.

The swimming pool was dirty. Also, the view of the river was not that great compared to the photos, as it needs some clearing up work. We were expecting a nicer view of the river. Regarding the price, it is a bit higher for the value that they offer.

When we arrived, we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome from our host Kerry. Our overall stay was outstanding, each day started with a beautiful breakfast prepared by Manny. Manny was an absolute gem, he was on hand to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible which he achieved with question.

I can not fault anything, or change anything with our stay. Kerry, Clint and Manny where beautiful hosts. We would definitely stay at Bitou River Lodge again.

The rooms a lovey, with a fantastic private patio area which looks out onto the river. The mornings in the garden were great and Manny does a superb at preparing a special breakfast every morning. Highly recommended..

Minor grumble l… The doorless ‘Wet room’ shower in the bathroom meant it was had contain the splash back..

- the lodge is located in a natural paradise; directly on the Bitou River, very quiet and idyllic - rooms are nicely furnished and clean, except for the bathroom, which seemed a bit uninspired - Kerry, the hostess, was eager to give good tips and booked tables in restaurants for us in the evening as well as organizing a great safari

-the breakfast menu sounded promising; unfortunately, there was not always the full selection during our stay - the pool area could definitely be made nicer; unfortunately the pool was dirty and did not invite to swim; very sad, as the place is located in the middle of nature and looks promising - bath towels were provided only after request

Wonderful location and river views with very accommodating owners and wonderful service. The rooms are well appointed and the beds fantastically comfortable. Breakfast was also seriously good. We are just very sorry we were unable to stay longer. Highly recommend Bitou River Lodge as it was more comfortable and better in virtually every way than other far more expensive locations.

Absolutely nothing not to like.

Breakfast was outstanding and on one of the mornings we asked if we could bring a friend. They could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The linen was exceptional ( Granny Goose ). Shower pressure was great. Room & breakfast areas so tastefully appointed. I felt like I was coming home at the end of each day. Can’t wait to return!

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. A sanctuary 10 minutes out of the main Plett shopping area. Great space to relax. We felt very welcome and at home. Comfortable rooms. We could barbecue and relax by the river.

Nothing to fault, it was perfect. Just a note that it is about 10/15 minute drive to the beach.

Beautiful location on the Bitou River a few kms out of Plettenberg Bay and inland, but close to all the amenities. Lovely room and delightful new hosts in Kerry and Clint, who spared no effort to make our stay enjoyable. Just a few rooms, all opening out onto the river with its lovely bird life. Our room was very well-appointed, spacious and with a good-sized bathroom. All the amenities you would expect, with good wifi, TV, and cooking facilities and equipment includingBBQ/braai which we made good use of for peaceful meals beside the river. Lots of good info and guide books. Kerry served us up very good breakfasts in the spacious lounge/breakfast room. Great beaches, hikes and restaurants close at hand.

Kerry and Clint have been busy since their arrival just a few short weeks ago, energetically getting the property back up to the highest standards both indoors and outside in the extensive lawns and estate. The swimming pool still needs a bit of attention and there is still a little clearing of the river to do, but they have great plans in hand for these and other areas!

Everything was exceptional well and organised. I loved the layout and it's cleanness. It's a place to book again in future and recommend to some else
