Everything was great! From the ease of check in to the well lit parking lot! I haven’t been to this building since before the remodel years ago and I am thoroughly pleased with the atmosphere! I brought my youngest daughter up for a couple days for her spring break. We stayed in 102. The only issues I saw were insignificant but I did manage to loosen the shower head when adjusting how the water cane out. I tightened it back up but it may need to be tightened and secured with the use of teflon tape and a channel locks.

We chose Canal Lodge for the convenience of the location near Duluth Civic Center, movie theater shops and restaurants. Our granddaughter was in The Nutcracker with the MN Ballet. Easy walk to the CC. This place has a spacious lobby and sitting area. We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting in the lobby with the huge windows overlooking Superior Lake. We loved the swimming pool and hot tub as much as the grandkids.

We noticed the shuttle runs on the weekends for the Christmas lights at Bentleyville. But doesn't run on Sunday nights and during the week.

Loved location walking distance to shops and Bentleyville .

I don’t think children should be allowed to get there breakfast with no adult supervision there were kids in the way running around grabbing plates and putting them back no adult could get pancakes as all kids were using both and all waiting making there own. It was chaos and bit ridiculous especially having lost power in hotel and we received no input as to why. Not one child was with adult jumping in front of people to get what they wanted no staff or parents to tell them out to act. Very disappointing.

Breakfast was wonderful! My husband wasn't feeling well so they let me take some to the room. Then at 2:30am on 4/23 my husband really wasn't feeling well. Drew had to call an ambulance and they came along with police and firemen. My husband was taken to the hospital and released a few hours later! Everyone at the hotel were concerned and happy that it wasn't serious! The front desk woman with the red hair was outstanding in customer service, I just can't remember her name. But she is amazing and definitely an asset to your hotel!

It was outstanding value for the money!

There wasn't much I didn't like about the place. The room was very clean and decent sized. We got a balcony, lakeside room and it was nice they had chairs and a table on the balcony and the view was just great. The beds were super comfortable and clean. One thing I noticed was it was really quiet in the room. I could hear when people were in the hallways but didn't hear anything in the rooms, beside or above us. It was a super comfortable room, the air/heat wasn't too loud and stayed a perfecr temperature even with us opening and closing the door to the balcony. I didn't even need to adjust it at all throughout our stay. Downstairs they had coffee, hot chocolate and hot apple cider available 24/7. The breakfast was great too! Bacon, sausage, eggs pancakes and all the other great breakfast foods. We stayed a Sunday-Monday so I was surprised they had such a big breakfast for the weekday.

The pool was a little small for the size of the hotel and it was cold in the pool area, which is surprising for a pool area. There was not a shuttle or anything available to Bentleyville like there was years ago.

Everything was great. Room, staff, parking, location, breakfast options as well as wine and other adult beverages available for purchase. And whom ever checked us in places us on the third floor- away from a large hockey team staying on the first and second floors. VERY appreciative of that!

Only one issue was the hot tub seemed like it had an excessive amount of chemicals or chlorine. I had to get out and turn the jets off to stop my eyes from watering. Otherwise, the hot tub and pool were wonderful.

The room itself was comfortable, if a bit warm for the season despite the air conditioner. I did like the shampoo/conditioner/wash in the showers. The beds were comfortable. Close access to the boardwalk along the harbor was awesome.

The breakfast was well laid out and the vouchers worked well, but it would have been nice to be able to go back and grab extra having finished the first plate if you were still a little hungry. You have to load up with everything you want ahead of time and if your eyes are bigger than your stomach, food is wasted. On the opposite side the tub walls are quite high for getting into the shower. The price was high for the amount of time people generally spend in the room on the type of weekend we stayed (Air show and great weather = not in the room a lot)

This place is amazing!! The app said there's no elevator for upper floors, there is one, food for thought. We had the lake view and it was stunning. The breakfast was beyond what I ever thought I would experience at a hotel. Right in the heart of canal park for that experience as well. Amazing staff and beautiful location.

Breakfast location coffee all day, room all good!

Our neighbors were incredibly loud and inconsiderate-door slamming and something slamming against the wall all night I hardly slept at all last night, because of them and the big loud truck outside in front of our room woke us up at 5:00 am this morning

The staff was a joy to work with. The room was clean with many amenities that you don't see in many hotels. With many families with children, there was not much noise. I really liked the breakfast, It was great.

I missed the in house restaurant, but with the many local dining facilities, that was not a problem.
