For the price and location just off of Main Street it was fine. I've stayed at a few hotels in higher price ranges in Oneonta and none are 4-star or really 3-star as the area does not offer that range of lodging. This hotel is a great value all around. The staff are very nice as well. I found my room to be clean. Contrary to some negative reviews, I had a very positive experience and I'm happy I supported what appears to be a more independent hotel and not a chain brand which ive stayed at near by. None offered anything better than the Marx.

The train tracks seem to be close by therefore a train passes by and blown their horn at interval times during the night while speeding along.

You know. When it was the Clarion and when we packed it up as an alumni of Oneonta state. Fraternities and sororities causing problems. You know they put up with us. The vibe was so much different but things change. Was still clean enough, room 418 has a wall plastic corner that needs mending. Was like that when I got there I should have said something.

All good. Close to my destination, but Oh-please yes --fix that parking lot!!!!

Breakfast was light and fun. The pool was closed which was a bummer during the week we were there very hot and humid) otherwise the staff was pleasant and friendly. Lots of local recommendations and even did pin trading with my sons for the baseball tournament we were there for.

The ceiling appeared to have been replaced or something fairly recently and there was slots where light and noises from the neighboring room came through. Otherwise it was a one time poor neighbor situation.

Breakfast was very good, but the man in charge of it was very slow, and we always had to wait for everything to be restocked. Everything would run out at once, and then there would be nothing until he was able to restock it, which took quite a while.

The restaurant was permanently closed, the hot tub was broken, and there was no ice on any floor the entire week. Every time we came in or left whoever was at the front desk rarely said anything at all. Once in a while, we got a hello, but that was it. Most of the time they completely ignored us.

Pleasant staff and atmosphere, close to downtown.

Lighting options are a little dim. One towel and kne conforter had what looked lake a machine burn or grease mark in a 2 inch rectangle. A couple fruit flies in the bathroom when I arrived. Included continental nreakfast was very non-plus. Cheap brown and serve frozen sausages, under cooked oily hasbrowns, and scrambled eggs. Make your own belgian waffles weren't bad except the butter was all frozen rock hard. Walls in rooms could stand better sound proofing. Shpwers could use a little better water pressure or a removable sprayer.

The price was good for the property. It’s comparable to the quality inn where we usually stay because we bring our dog. The quality inn was actually $100 more. It’s decent. Rooms we’re clean and good size the front entry way was nice and very convenient in the middle of town.

The interior is a little dingy in the hallway a slight smell but not terrible. The pool wasn’t opened because it needed 24 hours to clean but we weren’t told that or given a discount. Someone complained but they didn’t really do anything except say sorry maybe the manager helped her out idk. Also the chef may or may not be there for a warm breakfast they didn’t know. However, they do offer free continental breakfast. My husband and I call it the maybe hotel. Lol

Location is excellent. Been there multiple times. Youre the go to hotel.

Everything on my end was good. The common thing I hear from other people is that the hallways and other areas need freshening up; new paint, etc. The marx is a high traffic area so it's probably hard to do those types of updates not to mention the cost of everything.

Location. Basically across the street from the venue we were attending a concert at. Also rear entrance to Main St. The front desk clerk at check-in was super nice and friendly.

In room phone did not work. TV was nearly impossible to figure out. When checking out the next morning, the clerk seemed bored and listless. Just sat at the table to the side of the front desk.

The property needs some updating in the common areas. The room had ample size with comfortable beds.

I didn’t like the linens. The towels weren’t great quality (thin) and the comforter was also of a lightweight fabric. The room wasn’t cold but the geographic area had gotten very cool

The staff made me feel valued. I took wedding pictures there and they came out looking real good. The king room is good with the Jacuzzi.

The breakfast was poor, no eggs or anything to eat with the bread. No fruits overall need more variety. The beds where too small in the queen room
