One of the best bed & breakfast/small hotels we ever stayed at. The staff was wonderful, amenities were perfect and the room was nice, clean and cozy. Perfect place for seeing Cooperstown. Very conveniently located. We felt safe and comfortable. Loved the outside amenities for relaxing and viewing the fall foliage. We would recommend the Railroad Inn to anyone planning to visit and stay in Cooperstown. Railroad Inn far exceeded our expectations.

TV choice options. For a state that is full of professional sports, we couldn't get any baseball games. With that said, we did not visit Cooperstown to stay in a hotel and watch tv, so if this was the only negative, we can't complain.

The railroad theme (I'm a fan of trains). The comfort of the bed and armchair. The shower. The 24-hour breakfast bar. The friendly staff. The location, in a quiet part of the village but still close to everything. Building, furniture, and location all looked beautiful.

Lack of a desk in the room. Both room and lobby were a little underlit, making reading and writing a little difficult (though not impossible--the armchair was still good for reading, and I could write at the table in the lobby).

Appreciated the little set up they had that provided drinks and snacks and a light breakfast. It was nice to grab a water on the way in or way out or just have a cup of tea at any time. That was really nice. There were plenty of towels for the 2 nights we stayed and didn't have to ask for anything.

It wasn't that I didn't like it but wished they had a charging option to fit the newer phones out there. Again not a complaint because I did bring my own charger.

We were totally pleased with breakfast choices. We were delighted with James. He’s real people-person and even took a picture of the mattress brand, printed it out and gave it to me when we gushed over how comfy the beds were! We went to dinner at Boca Osteria that night,and met Sydney, his girlfriend, who is a waitress there. Such wonderful, friendly people. The cleaning staff was also very friendly. The location of the Railroad Inn is very convenient. The Inn is spotless and the railroad decor is great but not overdone. The inn is cozy and exceeded our expectations. We will be back.

The traffic outside was a bit noisy, but not during quiet hours/nighttime. The bottom of the middle set of steps, in the parking lot, used to get into rooms, had some ice and mud that needed some treatment, either with sand or salt.

We loved the fact that coffee, juice etc., was available at anytime. We liked the location and the fact we could walk to many things.

Our only disappointment was maybe lighting. It was hard to turn on a light without disturbing one another. The bathroom light had a continuous fan and the light by the door also regulated the one over the bed. You couldn’t adjust them individually.

It was comfortable. There was ample coffee, water, and things to nibble. Easy walk to the museum and eateries. Highly recommend!

Lights in the parking lot went on after dark and DO NOT use the exit on Glen Avenue. There is a crazy deep ravine which will wreck your car.

Loved it all! Room and staff very nice. Location is excellent. Walking distance to BB hall of fame, shopping and food. Parking on-site.

Snowed when there. Side exit nearest our parking spot was not properly salted. Steps and railing dangerously icy. Also, would have liked for room to have full length mirror outside of bathroom.

The room was extremely comfortable and quiet, in a slew of hotels it was the only one with silent Aircon. The location was ideal for a short walk into town, and onsite parking was handy.

It was an extremely close walk to downtown, easy to return with bags or souvenirs to drop off before more exploration of the city. I honestly believe the complimentary snacks and food 24/7 was more convenient than a typical 7-10 am breakfast. Having an 8 year old able to grab a yogurt, pack of crackers, or apple made a huge difference against the typical "I'm hungry, can we go somewhere and get food?"

CLEAN! Accommodating, friendly staff, close to everything we needed. Nice outside area with grills and seating.

Heat wasn't working and we had a few chilly nights. Once we notified the staff they quickly brought us a portable heater which worked wonderfully. Walls are a little thin, could pretty much here everything going on outside the room.
