Bill Smith is an exceptional host and the property is outstanding. We had the entry codes, but we let Bill know when we would arrive, and he met us to acquaint us with the apartment. The parking was designated and convenient. The elevator was helpful with luggage. The apartment was beautiful, new, spacious, and well appointed. It had a brilliant floor plan that made it possible to manage three people doing, laundry, bathing, dressing, sleeping, cooking, and lounging at the same time without feeling cramped. The place was immaculate and the beds were so comfortable we didn't want to wake up. The roof top deck is not a joke; the view is spectacular and there are tables and chairs for several families to enjoy at once. It was a bit windy when we were there, but well worth the experience of having dinner on the roof. Bill had great suggestions for a grocery and food nearby, as well as good tips for seeing the sights in Kanazawa. This was our best accommodation of the 12 cities we visited in Japan over three weeks, and it was just under the midpoint of our daily accommodation expense. Kanazawa was good value for money, and this property was excellent value for money. We would return for sure, and we recommend W&M House to anyone traveling in Japan.

Our only regret is we should have stayed another day.

Spacious and well equipped apartment, one of the largest we stayed in during our extended stay in Japan. Fantastic host who went out of his way to help. Great location, walking distance to everywhere. Roof terrace with amazing views.

We had a great stay but it is only fair to mention the property is on a busy 4 lane highway and there is considerable traffic noise even during the night. Also, surprisingly inadequate covering on the floor to ceiling glass in the bedroom as well as other smaller windows without any blinds, so we were always awake at daybreak.

Everything was so well thought out. It was meticulously clean. We had extra pillows (a first after 2 weeks in Japan!), the bed was supportive but not rock hard (also a first!), and the unit had a clothes dryer that worked quickly! Loved the full-sized kitchen. They even have rice and water for guests! The layout felt spacious & very relaxing. The owners are welcoming and very responsive to messages.

It’s a bit of a walk to the nearest bus station, but—if you don’t feel like walking—Uber prices are reasonable here.

Good location and very comfortable apartment. A home away from home! Good WiFi, large TV with easy streaming option. Ninja temple and Museum nearby and within walking distance. Shopping centre just down the road. Bus stop nearby. Good restaurants in the vicinity.

The bus system is unnecessarily complicated. Best option is to get a one day pass. With luggage better take a taxi.

The apartment was compact, but was very modern, beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need for a short or extended stay. There is an elevator to each floor and 1 apartment per floor, so it felt very private. There were a lot of nice touches from the hosts like water bottles in the fridge, extra appliances and even rice in the lobby. We really liked the small tatami seating area in the bedroom and the rooftop terrace with sofas and tables were you could have a drink or have a bite to eat while watching the sunset. Bill, the host, was great with suggestions of what to see and was great at communication. We liked the quiet location, but just a few minutes walk to a small geisha district and the Kanazawa loop bus. It is definitely walkable to most of the sites of Kanazawa if you don’t want to take the bus. There is also a large shopping centre, Apita, just down the street where you can find pretty much anything you need and a good selection of freshly prepared food if you don’t feel like cooking. A little gem, was the small Yakitori restaurant next door, run solely by a sweet Japanese lady. They are small dishes, but excellently prepared and delicious. We loved everything about our stay at W & M House. Would definitely recommend!

Friendly, helpful staff member, Bill. Beautifully clean facilities and the most comfortable beds we have had in Japan in 6 different hotels. Within walking distance to centre of city. A large supermarket/department store with eating places is approximately a 5 minute walk away.

Needs a disability railing in the toilet to make it perfect.

This apartment was our favorite accommodation out of several places we stayed during three weeks in Japan. The apartment was comfortable and surprisingly spacious, and it had a nice bed and bedroom, excellent appliances in the kitchen, and lots of considerate touches like multi-language explanations for using things like the rice cooker and the washer and dryer. Also, Bill was a fantastic host, giving us a tour of the apartment and useful advice about the area. He also went out of his way to help us recover an item we forgot.

I cannot praise this accommodation enough. Bill, the host, designed the accommodation and truly thought of everything. Very comfortable double bed mattress. Two normal pillows and two memory foam pillows. Washing machine and dryer. All amenities you can think of, even bath salts. Proper drip coffee. We stayed for four nights, and could easily have stayed longer. The check in instructions and directions were so detailed, Bill also met us on site.

Supremely comfortable, well equipped and very good value apartment with everything needed to enjoy a stay of any length. We would happily have moved in for a month! Friendly and helpful host. The location involves a bit of a walk to most attractions but is close to frequent city bus services and the tourist loop bus.

It is very clean, large sized, nicely decorated, well-equipped and comfortable apartment— a perfect place for longer stay at Kanazawa. The owner provides all services necessary and beyond.

Two different bus stops to the hotel with the same name can be confusing.
