The hotel is well located in Kanazawa's lively Katamachi district. Lot of great restaurant and izakaya options nearby. Our room was cozy, clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful in arranging luggage transport to our next accommodation.
The only problem we encountered had to do with the hotel's spa facilities. The fact that their onsen (Japanese bath) was completely traditional in its no tattoo policy was not mentioned at all on their website, nor was it hinted at during check-in (granted, we did not explicitly ask about it either). We were really looking forward to relaxing after a long day of travel, so not being allowed in was quite a disappointment. While I fully respect local customs for public baths, I don't necessarily understand this policy for an onsen that is exclusively for hotel guests (which I would assume to be mostly foreign tourists based on the guests we saw).

A like new, modern hotel. Looks very nice, very clean. We liked how spacious the hotel room was and the little amenities they offered. They also communicated well when messaging on the app prior to our arrival. Overall a great value and price for our stay.
I was surprised by how much my back and body felt the bed, they were too firm. The location is okay, I prefer the area by Omicho market, more traditional buildings in the area. Seemed like a bar/ party area, but didn’t impact our stay at all. However easy to walk around and a nice river path to go for a run in the evening. Also the “gym” was not sufficient for the number of people on the hotel. Very difficult to get around. The rooms were properly cooled down by AC but the rest of the hotel hallways were very humid. Also be prepared to invest some time washing your clothes, there is always a wait. Make sure you bring eye covers, the blinds don’t block out the sun.

Very nice and cozy room, clean bath, extremely comfortable beds, friendly and welcoming staff, good location
The people with the tattoos are not allowed in the spa, which is not unusual for Japan but still is a little bit upsetting

Great location. I was able to walk to train station and Castle.
Stayed on the 12th floor. I couldn't get the shower water to cool down...very hot for me and I did understand how to use the button on the lever...it just didn't cool down. I mentioned to the front desk staff and she just looked at me without offering to send someone up. I didn't want to bother anyone as the desk always seemed too busy. Maybe have a little more staff available when needed? Also the laundry facilities were very helpful, but again it was almost too busy to be useful. Maybe offer another machine or laundry send-out service?

Beautiful onsen facilities, tasteful rooms
We made reservations for three persons (2 adults, 1 child of 12 years), months ahead of our stay.. Arriving at Amanek Hotel, we were given a small room with two 1 person-beds (it was unclear on the pictures that these beds were only for 1 person; they looked much larger the way they were photographed). Obviously too small for us as a family. We had to upgrade on the spot to a 3-persons room, and because rates were much higher last-minute, we payed twice as much as the rate we made the reservation for. This was really disappointing.

Hotel Amanek is an excellent base for exploring Kanazawa. The room was a substantial size for Japan standards with a functional layout and everything you need. The bathroom was spacious with a separate toilet and walk-in shower room. The bed was very comfortable and the outlook over Kanazawa to the rear of the hotel was lovely. The spa room was well set-up and free for hotel guests and was lightly used when I attended so a great place to relax and unwind. The lounge area on level 2 was an added extra, especially while waiting for laundry to finish nearby, on the same level. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the main station, so you need transport, but it is no big deal and taxis are plentiful. It is a better part of town to be in.
A little more handy orientation information on the free tourist bus loop service and where to catch it nearby would be helpful. We never quite worked it out and resorted to taxis though they were convenient and reasonable.

Great hotel, especially considering the price. The onsen was great (clean, relaxing good temperature), very comfortable bedroom (huge bed with great linens, good bedroom size), cozy nightwear and the location is great to visit the samurai district (walking distance). Hotel was busy with guests but still our stay was relaxing.
Cleaning in the toilet area could be improved (maybe the floor choice for this area was not ideal, as many stains were visible, which is unpleasant). The coin laundry was impossible to use as there were very few available machines and many guests interested in using it. However, there is a public coin laundry 50m away from the hotel which worked great and solved our issue.

This hotel is excellent. It has super friendly staff, fitness, a nice lounge and an onsen. The rooms were big and everything worked as expected. Location is great, walking distance to the major sight. I would/will definitely stay here again, highly recommend.
There are a couple of minor issues that could put this hotel from 8 to 9 maybe even higher: - The bathroom floor was a bit dirty - I couldn’t figure out how to shower with very cold water (not sure if something was wrong with the shower or it was just my clumsiness) - the room doesn’t have any place to hang wet clothes e.g. like a laundry rope But as I said this was an excellent hotel and the price was also great.

The family room is clean and very spacious with separated bedrooms and bathrooms make it very comfortable for our stay there. We highly appreciated the layout of the hotel family room, very convenience for our family to stay here. The location is good, many good restaurants and shops in short walking distance . The river bank nearby with old cherry trees would be a wonderful scenery during sakura blossom period. We enjoyed the public bath a lot.
Bathroom amenities are quite limited for a 4* hotel, only toothbrush and toothpaste available, others might be on request but we didnot ask for since we have ourselves on hand. Towels were changed everyday but not the yukata. We do hope they would change the yukata daily also.

The onsen was super nice! Can be busy in the evenings. Good location in the city center, can be very lively, plenty of options for cafes, restaurants, etc. Within walking distance of the Kenrokuen garden, the castle grounds, and most museums. Staff is very friendly! And you can book a massage at the hotel!
Hardly anything to complain about. Laundry machines can be busy, so stand in line if you have to. Be aware that it’s their eco-friendly policy not to clean your room every day (this is explained to you when checking in) - just so you know.
