The room size was incredible. If you're staying with a group, or if you're just craving room to spread out and relax, this is perfect!! Having a kitchenette was great for storing breakfast options and snacks. The views were amazing, and the location was pretty perfect. We were easily able to get to the castle, Kenroku-en, and to the samurai district, and we never had to search long for great food and drinks. This was the highlight of all our stays in Japan!

My only feedback was that water pressure could get a little weak, but we were on the top floor, and it was never a huge issue. the other thing is - the bar is playing the music way too loud. I understand wanting to immerse in the music (huge vinyl fan myself!), but we couldn't even hear the wait staff.

Reception, cleaners, bar staff were all professional, very helpful and friendly. The mini- apartment was a really good size for 2 with dining area, sofa area, kitchenette (sufficiently equipped), good size bedroom and great wetroom with bath (powerful shower). The music bar downstairs had good food and drink, and lovely relaxed atmosphere ( and good music!) - we spent some time in there most evenings before we went out or when we came back; the cocktails (esp orange syrup spritz) were perfect. I would stay here again on my next trip to Kanazawa.

Nothing to dislike - we really enjoyed our stay.

Kaname Inn seemed to be set up to host digital nomads and business travellers. It has the most number of accessible plug points in a hotel room that I've encountered which is great as a couple we have several electronic items which need constant recharging or connection. The music bar is of course seriously cool and yet not a noisy night club pounding into the night. The onsite laundry room is also great.

It is an 'inn' and not a hotel so amenities are skimpy. No forks, no spoons, not more than 2 cups although the room has a good fridge. Basically you have to fork out to Lawson or Family Mart for essentials.

Wonderful place. Lovely bar and amazingly helpful, friendly staff. Superb location. Seriously, this place was listed as 3star and was WAY better than the 4star I stayed in in Tokyo. It’s a 30min walk from the station - don’t be put off, it’s in an AMAZING part of the city to be based. Very close to loads of places to eat and the museum, castle gardens, etc. The hotel isn’t big and there aren’t many rooms on each floor so it’s quiet. The bar is fun and cool - I expected to spend much more time than I ended up spending here. Kanazawa is wonderful - strongly recommend going to Kanazawa and staying here.

There’s very little that could be improved. Maybe the bed could be softer, but you’ll be so tired after a day in Kanazawa you won’t notice.

What a fantastic stay at the Kaname Inn! I have to say everything was perfect. I originally planned to stay 5 nights but added on an extra 2 when the weather turned bad, and it was really cozy. The location was excellent within walking distance of the major sites and near lots of restaurants. Easy to get to from the station - only 3 stops on the bus. Every single one of the staff were charming and so helpful. It was lovely to see such friendly welcoming faces every day. My room was spacious and the bed and pillows very comfortable (not hard like other Japanese beds) and had a sofa in it which was excellent for relaxing. There was a minifridge cups and a kettle. The bathroom had a good sized bath. It was all sparkling clean. An added bonus was the bar which had really excellent food and drinks (I got some coupons for drinks for electing not to have my room cleaned thoroughly every day). Plus the DJ played excellent vinyl every night. Finally the price was extremely reasonable. This was my second visit to Kanazawa and my first to Kaname. It won't be my last, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

The only small issue I had was that the bed was very close to the window frame which wasn't well insulated from the cold outside. Nothing the hotel could do about that now its been built! I put a towel along the bottom of the window and that helped a lot.

Of all the places we stayed in Japan, this was the most "western." The staff we either native english speakers or from Europe, the furnishing and design would fit in any hip city neighborhood. While I'm glad this wasn't true of all our accommodations, it was a nice break to stay somewhere very familiar feeling for a little while. The views of the city and mountains from our room were lovely. The bar with guest only happy hour was very welcoming, and the street/neighborhood was cool, with pedestrian-centric shopping, vintage clothes, and bossanova jams played on speakers throughout the block. We took a taxi from the train station to help with carrying luggage, but once we settled it, this hotel was walkable to everywhere we wanted to go!

We loved our stay at Kaname Inn. Great location and right in the middle of shopping/walking street. The staff are superb! The ladies in front desk are so knowledgeable and friendly and greeted us each morning to wish us a nice day. They answered all of our queries about things to do in the area and gave clear instructions on where to find ceramics and art galleries. Also communicated with Soyu to arrange a wonderful tea ceremony. The evenings were relaxing spent listening to great music and eating delicious shared plates and the red wine was divine! We are so grateful to have stayed at Kaname and definitely recommend a stay here.

Modern hotel in an excellent area. We had a corner room so it was very light and sunny. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bathroom was OK. The receptionist organised for our luggage to be forwarded to our next destination (they made the process super easy). We were in walking distance of all that Kanazawa had to offer - which is a lot. Kanazawa is one of my favourite places in Japan. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nothing, although on one of the nights we could hear the music from the bar but it wasnt too bad.

I just had a FABULOUS two-night stay at Kaname Inn and I just had to sing its praises. It checked all my boxes--super comfortable, intimate size, spacious bright rooms, clean, great beds, quality bedding, stylish lobby, very thoughtful service and perfectly located. I had arrived on the later side after driving my rental many hours with the last hour+ in a blizzard. Check-in took about two minutes (seriously), they told me I could park two blocks away in a covered garage for a very reasonable rate and then I parked myself at their bar for a tasty meal, creative cocktails and lovely vibe-y music. Perfection! The location is great--on an intimate, boutique lined street and walkable to the samurai district, one of the chaya districts and many great restaurants and coffee. I would happily stay here again.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Loved our stay here in Kanazawa! Great boutique vibes. Every staff we encountered were professional, friendly and helpful. Special mention to Rachel who helped recommend places for coffee and breakfast, and also place for dinner on one of the nights. We stayed in Deluxe Room and our older teens stayed in the Corner Twin Room. Both were spacious, had comfortable beds, clean and well thought out! The music bar was a great place to have a nightcap and listen to DJ play old school vinyls - great drinks and cool vibe. Totally recommend staying here if you are in Kanazawa!
