Loved the Ryokan style room. Lovely and friendly host - helped me with my luggage, updated my booking from 2 persons to 1 person on arrival when requested (remove a mattress etc to make more space), helped ring a local restaurant for booking. I absolutely loved the location - was close to and well connected to the places I wanted to see. I also stayed out later both nights which seemed fine as long as you observe the quiet hours. The room size was perfect for one with luggage. There is one bathroom with showers and an Onsen/bath - but haven't had to wait for longer than 10 mins both days of my stay.

No breakfast at the hotel, but there was a department store with a food court in the basement within a 7-minute walk, and the bento boxes were fantastic! Close to Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Park. Cabs were available from the department store, so we used them to get to and from the train station (about 15 minutes by cab, about 20 minutes by bus).

Can't think of anything. This is an older house with traditional tatami mats and futon for sleeping, which was very comfortable. Not a good choice if you want western-style rooms, but completely redone bath and western toilets, very modern and sparkling clean. Most of the rooms are upstairs, but we had luggage that would have been a struggle, so the owner put us on the ground floor. I think it's family-run, limited English, but wonderful people.

Located within easy walking distance of the magnificent Kenrokuen garden, Ishiura Shrine, Kanazawa Castle park, the Nagamachi samurai & merchant house district, modern department stores, and various restaurants. Friendly host, Mr. S, told us he is the 4th generation running this ryokan. He kindly let us store our luggage there after checkout and before our next train. The spacious bath facilities included 4 showers and a large, deep tub of hot water. The lobby restrooms were sparkling clean & convenient. Free coffee in the lobby in the mornings was a special surprise!

The traditional miniature-sized bath towels might surprise Westerners used to bath sheets. For some reason, when booking online, I was only able to select up to a max of 3 travelers, so had to explain to the host we were actually a party of 4, and paid an additional fee at check-in.

Excellent location and very cozy room. The ryokan is tucked away on a quiet street that is within easy walking distance of Kanazawa Castle Park, Oyama Shrine, Kenroku-en garden, and the Nagamichi District. It's a really beautiful neighborhood to walk around. The family that runs this place is super nice, and the place itself felt very cozy and homey. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer.

The only thing that wasn't spectacular was the wifi (but that may have been specific to our room).

After a day of walking, sightseeing it was great to have the comfortable yukatas to slip on and hot water and tea ready in our room. Loved having complimentary coffee ready each morning to start our day. Bathroom facilities were well lit and toilet state of the art. Comfortable futons and quilts. Proprietor was very responsive. Walking distance to beautiful Kenrokuen Garden, museums and Kanazawa station.

This was our favourite accommodation in Japan! We loved being in a traditional Ryokan and the area had plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants close by. The staff were really friendly, free coffee was supplied in the morning, and the facilities were great. Don't be put on by the shared toilets and bathroom. They are of exceptional standard and the onsen is used privately and an incredible experience.

Nothing, we loved it!

The onsen bathroom was excellent and allowed for private bathing. The rooms were a good size and reasonably priced. The location was great, close to key attractions.

The stairs up to the sleeping quarters were very steep, a bit of a problem for older travellers with luggage. If having a comfortable pillow is important to you I recommend taking your own.

Lovely little spot tucked away. Kind owner and beautiful shared bath. We had no issues waiting for the bath— in fact, we didn’t see any other guests there. The room was spacious and had AC.

After we checked in, we didn’t see the host again. We wanted to ask about doing laundry but couldn’t find him to ask.

It's not a fancy place but it's very cute and homely. The decor is a bit daggy but it's all immaculately cared for - feels like my grandma's house. I asked for breakfast on my first morning and it was all prepared beautifully. You've got to wait to use the room with the showers & bath in it but it wasn't a problem for me.

The location was exceptional: easy walking to delicious restaurants, great shopping & Kenroku-en. The price was very reasonable, thus the ryokan is a great value. I appreciated the wonderful hospitality of hot water & tea in our room. The lovely fresh camellia in our room was a nice bonus!
