I will start from the breakfast that I really enjoyed after so much time as I suffer from celiac disease and I need to follow a gluten free diet. I was very happy to discover that there were gluten free options such as sealed loafs of bread and croissants. Maybe it could sound limited to other options, but for us that have such health issues, it is always delightful to discover them and feel accepted. Regarding the hotel, it is a grand mansion with another new building where the facilities are. I stayed at the new building, which was very comfortable and clean. The mattress was soft and the bed was huge, more than needed for one person, although very welcome. It would be ideal for couples. I have a view at the garden and it was very quiet and nice.

The parking slots are quite limited. As I was there on a business trip, I often arrived back at the hotel late at night and I couldn't find where to park within the premises. I wasn't sure where parking was allowed and where not and I didn't know what my alternatives would be in case I didn't find a place. Regarding the location, it was a bit difficult to find it without a GPS, but this is partially due to the snake-like roads of the area. However, a few more signs could be helpful. Another minor issue was that I was offered a bottle of sparkling water at the room. It was very welcome to find it on the room's table, but this was just one-off. The way it was presented and maybe me feeling a bit spoiled, I would have expected to have a bottle every day. However, this was just a minor issue.

This was our second stay at Hotel Villa Borghi in 3 months, and it seemed even better this time round. The main villa building is breathtaking and the whole property is stunning. It features secure parking and easy access to an elevator. Our room was very spacious and included a fridge, as well as a very comfortable and clean super-king-sized bed. The private ensuite was large and included the most amazing shower system. Our rooms also included some beautiful views of Lake Comabbio and some distant snowy alps. The receptionists and breakfast attendants were again very courteous and friendly. The buffet breakfast included everything you need plus more. The kind attendants also served freshly made coffees to order. We loved exploring the peaceful town of Varano Borghi and the lovely lake. My wife and I both loved our second stay at Villa Borghi and we would definitely stay here again.

A stunning set of impressive buildings on a large park/estate with secure parking and walkways. The main building is an authentic 3-storey noble villa that makes you feel like you are staying in a private castle. Our room was very spacious and included a very comfortable super-king-sized bed. The private ensuite was large and included the most amazing shower system. Our rooms also included some beautiful views of Lake Comabbio and surrounding mountains. The receptionists and breakfast attendants were very courteous and friendly. The buffet breakfast included an impressive assortment of savoury and sweet offerings. The kind attendants also served freshly-made coffees to order. One suggestion for Villa Borghi managers is that they could provide a kettle or coffee pod machine in each room. Other than that, the place is perfect. My wife and I both loved our stay at Villa Borghi and will definitely be returning here again.

the room I obtained after I changed it was very good, basic but large and clean with a balcony and a fantastic view over the trees. ( the first room I received was small without balcony with a view over the garbage area) the breakfeast is good in a fantastic garden. overall very good value

the staff is not so welcoming and helpful. In fact you have to know that there is two different hotels with separate buildings and different breakfeast place . It is only mentionned that the room you order is in a different building ( the annex) but its not mentionned that it is a different hotel actually. I don t like when things are not clear

Lovely large room. View overlooking the gardens and pond. Great little pizza restaurant on site, which was good value. Lovely old building with some beautiful rooms. Small pool on site.

Spa closed on days we wanted to use it. Insufficient staff in restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was a bit disappointing - always waiting for staff to provide coffee or missing items that had run out in the buffet. Our suite had an upstairs sitting room, but the windows were too high to see out of and there was no television in the sitting area, so one ended up in bed watching the television and might as well not have had the suite. Bit out of the way, so had to drive everywhere.

It’s a beautiful villa, gorgeous interior, you really feel yourself like you are a princess when you walk in. It was a pleasure for us to look around and to have a walk in it. The territory near villa is also beautiful.

When we made a booking, we really didn’t have an idea that they have another building near the villa. And it was a great disappointment to find out that the villa itself we will see only from the window of our room. The room was good, basic interior, but clean and bed and bathroom were comfortable. But… it was ordinary and we made a booking in this place only because we expected the room in a historic building….. and the breakfast also was in this new building. We felt ourselves a little isolated. Also the eggs on breakfast were blue and smelled bad… don’t take eggs. Everything else was fine! In short I can say that we enjoyed our stay. But be attentive when you book your room, if you need it in the villa….

Great location, very nice rooms, good value for quality, nice breakfast, waiters are very good. Rooms are clean, nice and spacious, modern beds and furniture, remote for AC, TV,. Very nice restaurant with good chef and delicious food for fair prices. Villa Borghi is located in small town, close to this hotel is Milano city or Lago Maggiore which is ideal for travelers with car, because you can park your cars for free in hotel and see it and control from room window. Breakfasts are nice, I would appreciate more fresh vegetable or fruit, but qualitty of sweet pastry and breads is very good, and all breakfast in on very good level. Stuff was helpful and aslo when I prolonged staying for one day more and then was not sure if we could stay in same room, receptionist setted options and we stayed in same room. Nice spa services for fee, very nice swimming pool for free on the hotels garden - the garden is another benefit, if you travel with couple, you can enjoy waks around. The value of price and quality is fair and this staying for me was really good, I will be happy to go back

Little shame - for 4 star hotel the rooms or hotel services are not so equipped, not possible take some refresh after arrival, coffee, tea... after long way would be nice to refresh and take energy when restaurant is not opened yet or if is so late. Little difficult to catch sometimes work stuff, maybe hotel looks for more employees or there are not working so many, because we waited quite long time for receptionist also when we arrived on time to accomodate, after that I found worker who stayed on reception stayed in breakfast room on laptop, which took about half hour - unfotunatelly for us was heavy rain and we just waited for keys and check in and there was not any tel. number where we could call and ask where the stuff is...

Near airport, elegant setting with gardens near lake on first night in old hotel was great; modern second night at new hotel, was shorter stay since we came in late. This was fine also, good value, but old hotel is special. Good dinner options at 2 locations. Breakfast on site was simple but ordinary, average. But setting, and other assets, early breakfast take away, and kind staff made up for it. Bathrooms welll equipped, old hotel bathroom was spacious too. Lovely lamps, furniture, entry way in old hotel.

Breakfast was great! So grateful for the gluten free bread/cookies/treats that were available at breakfast. I've never had that at any hotel before. Thank you!

It would have been nice if drinking water was provided for every night's stay - there was one bottle when you check-in, but the hotel is pretty far way from grocery stores, etc. - it would have been nice to have more water for the guests. Or even a water stand in the lobby even.

Stunning building with seemingly original decorations (ornamental wooden parquet floor, pictures, stucco) and a very large suite. Excellent beds, luxury bathroom (who can do without a chaiselongue and an original chimney :-)?). There is a vast surrounding park which is beautiful to see (we didn't walk around due to the weather). Staff are very friendly. We had dinner in the more casual restaurant (Scuderia) with excellent food; breakfast was good standard. As we stayed for just one night we did not check the Spa facilities. Absolute recommendation!
