The property was beautiful and the rooms were neatly done and cozy. And staff was great!!
The “bean bag” chair was not comfortable, and with it being the ONLY place to sit other than on the bed, I feel like it should’ve been more of a chair. And the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Mattress was hard so we did not have a good nights sleep.

The wedding we were attending was close to Boone so Rhode's Motor Lodge was the perfect location for our three day stay. We wanted something more unique than the typical hotel and Rhode's fit the bill. Our king bed was very comfortable and the room itself had a lot of rustic charm. The bathroom was very clean, all the fixtures looked new. The entire motor lodge recently had a complete makeover. The best room rates were through Booking.com...even better than going directly to the Lodge. If you don't mind climbing a set of stairs the upper level rooms have a bit of a nature view. The lighted outdoor courtyard with chairs around firepits is a great way to relax.
We could have done without the small beanbag chair and the tiny 3-leg stool. A real arm chair would be more useful and comfortable. The Lodge has recently begun serving dinners/cocktails, somewhat pricey in my opinion. My BLT salad just ok but my husband loved his meatloaf/mashed potatoes and broccolini. There is complimentary coffee/tea in the morning but only in the lobby area and $5. baked goods. All the balconies on the upper level face a four lane highway so road noise is present but tolerable, especially with the a/c running at night. There is a musty smell when you first walk in the room (we had 318) but it dissipates quickly when you open the opposite door to the balcony for awhile.

The lobby interior was nice, the drinks and food were delicious
I booked a room with a balcony for a Mountain View. The balcony overlooked the back of the hotel and kitchen and was so loud with the whirring of machines I couldn’t enjoy sitting out there. Though I appreciate they kept the original motel sign on the back. Disappointed by the ambiance. Also the mattress and bed frame were low quality.

It was a quick overnight so cannot speak to much but the place is super cute! reminds me of many of the Motels out west that have been revamped into lovely spa resorts. It was clean, comfy! Having a small bar on site is convenient as well.
It was fine for my purposes and close to all things. In fact, it is right in the middle of the town of Boone. They did have a courtyard with chairs and firepits so it made you feel like you were out of town. If you want to be in nature- not here. However, it is only a 10-20 minute drive to nature and more quiet- ski areas, etc.

Convenient, close to downtown Updated, vintage motor lodge hotel. I stayed here as a teen many years ago and it’s definitely had some TLC and upgrades. Comfortable bed, stylish decor. Nothing fancy, but very clean and minimalist accommodations.
Noisy location because the property is so close to a very business, high traffic thoroughfare. You’ll definitely want to turn on your white noise App to drown out the loud nighttime trucks, motorcycles

For anyone who’s traveled abroad this felt very much like a European bnb or Swiss lodge vibe, which is awesome, well thought out and creative room design and nice lobby area. Really cool merch to purchase as well as snacks and alcohol. Will stay here every trip to Boone I make.
Would love if there was a small gym but I get it’s not super necessary as there is plenty of outdoor activities in the area. The restaurant and bar were also not open during our stay but hopefully can come to try them. The only real complaint would probably be the difficulty of pulling out of the parking lot onto the main road when there is a lot of traffic you can really only go right and not left.

It was our first time staying at Rhodes Motor Lodge and we will definitely stay there again when in the area. The front desk staff and everyone at the Canteen was exceptional. We were always greeted with a friendly smile and pleasant conversation. They sure made our stay even that more enjoyable! Our room was clean, spacious and the bedding was very comfortable. The food and drinks at the Canteen were better than expected. We also lucked out and had prime balcony seats from our room listening to the music right below us in the Courtyard. It was warm the days we were there (Labor Day weekend) otherwise we would have enjoyed sitting around the fire pits. The Lodge is also in a great location, close to stores and other dining options. Overall we had a wonderful time!

Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower. Strong WiFi. Super convenient location in the center of the Boone business district and close to App State campus. And dog friendly! Concrete floors seem kind of industrial at first, but are much easier to clean than the carpet found in most hotel rooms.
Our room's balcony wasn't really usable because there was a very loud air conditioner compressor directly under it running continuously. There are no hooks or bars or anything else in the shower, so if you want to temporarily hang up your washcloth or scrubby while you rinse off or something, you need to find a creative solution.

Rhode's was amazing. I ended up coming to Boone early, and Rhode's was happy to help. I asked if I could check in early, and they responded immediately letting me know that that day i could check in an hour early. That's not always possible, but it was incredibly sweet they let me. I had been driving all night and their amazing friendly staff was a pleasant surpise. All of the staff was so helpful, energetic, and sweet. I've NEVER been to a hotel where all of the staff, from front desk to house keeping, was so sweet and nice!! The room was spotless and gorgeous, I can see how people say there is "a smell" to the room. I can see it being strong at first, but as of today my room smelled like fresh new wood furniture. I love how minimalistic the room is; its very trendy but the minimalism makes the room feel very very clean. I got a mountain view room and while its not picture perfect - you still see the top of the hotel and the road - I love watching the cars go by and the view is definitely worth paying extra! If you dont youll just be looking at trees, which is still better than a regular hotel's parking lot view. All in all this has been one of the best hotels ive ever stayed at along the BRP!!
I have no complaints! The only thing is I miss cable TV in hotel rooms. But i just have to get with the times i guess!

Everything was beautiful. Clean stylish and comfortable.
The room smelled very strongly of dog or maybe dog pee. It seems like the people who stayed before us maybe their dogs had accidents. There were a couple of stains on the rug. Also- the rug was jute and sometimes that can have an odor. We were only there one night so it wasn’t a big deal. If it was up to me I would remove all rugs if animals were staying…. A very nice stay otherwise.
