This hotel has been a regular stop when working in the area for a number of years now only draw back is the number of stairs and no lift as a registered disabled person this was a problem but nothing that couldn’t be overcome just take your time and do what you can staff very helpful and understanding nothing to much trouble food good portions more than expected breakfast extensive choice and for my personal choice a chef that can actually get a simple thing like poached eggs right with out resorting too so called tricks of the trade vinegar and the likes added to the water highly recommend the hotel from every angle large car parking area cleansing room size staff location all great what more can be asked of a small country hotel stayed before and will definitely stay again 🥰

The staff were absolutely amazing, especially one young woman who helped me out when I arrived on my bike. Not only did she help me take it in through a side door, she took the time to find out if any of the staff had a repair set as I had run out of patches and a tyre had gone down again. When she couldn't immediately locate one, she said she would try and bring one with her the next morning. Since she wasn't certain she could get a hold of one I decided to take the early bus into Elgin the next morning to buy a new tube so I wouldn't be stuck. When I returned to check out - there was the repair kit waiting at reception! She had actually taken the time to go to a shop and buy one for me before coming to work - amazing! Unfortunately I didn't get the girl's name and she wasn't available when I checked out so I didn't get a chance to thank her personally. Hopefully this will go some way to make up for that.

Any deficiencies were more than compensated by the kindness of the staff at this hotel

I didn’t expect much from this place, looks nice in photos. But the food is excellent, breakfast and dinners - good chefs! Staff are all really nice and the best sleep I’ve had in a while, the bed was super comfy. Everything is old traditional style so don’t expect modern top of the range. However, this is a nice cosy hotel with great food - will definitely be booking this hotel for the area.

Most people could say stuff I dated - but that’s the style and I like it.

Good location for touring local area both coast and some of the many distilleries in the area. The food offerings were excellent both at breakfast and dinner.Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious with large bed bath separate shower and seating area all very clean and comfortable. The property also has a large car parking area and has a lot of the features of an old mill giving it character.

Is situated on a fairly busy road so some road noise and water pump in the bathroom was a bit on the noisy side.

Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, Able to store e-bikes overnight. Excellent location for country lane/coastal cycling trips. Beautiful countryside. Good value. Plentiful free parking. Close location to Buckie and Fochabers.

Whole hotel in need of refurbishment, but that is probably reflected in the accommodation rates. Evening menu could do with including smaller bar meals for smaller appetites. Excessive speed of traffic in front of car park needs regulating, though, thankfully, the noise can hardly be heard in the rooms.

Good food and well presented. Lovely welcoming and friendly staff especially since we were the only guests staying on second night good location for the funeral we were attending.

Rooms very basic. Bathroom needed a shelf or somewhere to put things and the shower door facing shower was odd. Hot water took a very long time to come but good when it did. Plain white walls cities so with a bit of dressing. Some pictures etc would help it feel less like a hospital room.

All of the staff at the Mill House are extremely friendly and accommodating. They couldn't have done enough to assist me during my stay. From the lady who checked me in who offered to help me carry my luggage as she showed me to my room. The lovely restaurant staff that no matter how busy they were in the restaurant they always took time have a conversation with me & made me feel like a valued customer. To the lady who called me after I checked out to say she had moved some bookings around & was able to accommodate me for the full week after. Such service from the entire team at The Mill House. Thank you for looking after me during my stay.

Unfortunately the shower in my room took some explaining to operate. Once it was running it was perfect, but it was just getting it to start was a problem. However on chatting with management, I understand that room is due for refurbishment soon & the old shower will be replaced with a new one

I loved absolutely everything about the propert. It’s character, it’s warmth, simple but perfect. The staff are absolutely amazing, very friendly, helpful and available. Food on point in every way!

If I where to search for a negative it would be no teaspoons with the tea making facility and no information sheet in the room as promised. Having said that my flight got cancelled and re-book by easyJet. The staff replied immediately to my email, allowed my cousin to check in for me and collect my keys so I could get in out of hours. So I wasn’t there to remind them for the information sheet and my cousin told me all I needed to know :-)

The staff at Mill House are amazing, you cannot fault the service. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and were super friendly and chatty whilst doing so. We had a dog with our party and they were happy for us to eat in the bar so he could be with us at dinner, they also let us sit in the upstairs restaurant for breakfast so he could join us and not interrupt other guests downstairs. All the food was delicious, and the place had a lovely ambience. The rooms were comfortable and very clean! The location worked great for us for taking a trip to Loch Ness and trips around the Moray coastline. Parking was also included, which is a bonus. Mill House has a lovely, homely, and extremely welcoming feel to it. I highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff (all female!). Warm welcome, and clean comfortable room, varied menus and plenty choice. Reasonable prices too. The young ladies who served in the bar and dining room were very chatty and nothing was too much trouble for them. Same goes for the lady who served the breakfast. After 4 nights, we still didn’t manage to get any of their names, they didn’t offer and we didn’t ask!!

Only negative comment - and it is a small one - the shower was over the bath, which was a bit high for us. We are in our 70s, and, although we managed to get into the bath with a little time and care, there was no safety mat or grab rail. Our friends, in the next door room, had a beautiful, shower cubicle, but again, no safety mat or grab rail. There were also no tumblers or glasses in the bathroom. Otherwise, we have no complaints
