Our family were overwhelmed at how lovely it was staying at the Brig & Barrel Hotel. Such a lovely family who run the business. Rosslyn (the owner) was the best hostess. Everyone who worked there was so friendly. The food was fabulous, cooked by Jim (the owner) and his team. Tasty meals (pies are incredible but all the food was good) and the service was so efficient. Breakfast was exceptional too and all cooked to perfection. Nicely decorated throughout with two dining rooms, bar and beautiful garden for families. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, really comfy bed and quality bedding and pillows were divine. Exceptionally clean throughout the whole hotel, rooms, bathrooms etc. It was the little things (coffee, milk, fan and heating in the rooms, table settings in dining room, notes in the bathrooms). Parking was very easy. We took Coco, my mum’s Poodle, and everyone was so kind and loving to him. He began to think it was his new home. We cannot wait to return to this wonderful hotel in October. Also, “thank you Kara”, for all your wonderful chats and stories.

Absolutely nothing, it was perfect.

The hotel has clearly been recently refurbished, very clean and the staff couldn't be more welcoming. The room was bright and spotless with a comfortable bed. All in all a very good stay and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Only a small thing but the main course I ordered in the restaurant arrived lukewarm, the rest of the meal and the breakfast was excellent. Also a member of staff told me that the hotel was currently up for sale so I hope the new owners when they arrive continue with the same standards.

Breakfast menu was very good. Lots of choice and they catered for both vegetarians and coeliacs so we were very happy. They also opened for lunch specially for us as we were hosting a small get together. Again lots of choice although a couple of items had ran out. The location was very central and there was plenty of parking available. The bedrooms were small but comfortable and had everything one would need. Nice fluffy bath sheets. The owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would happily return if we ever go back to Buckie.

We had one double and one single bedroom and as I said the bedrooms were small but comfortable. However although there was one armchair in the double there wasn’t really anywhere else to sit apart from on the bed. The single had a hard chair. There was a dressing table and nightstands with drawers for clothes but one room didn’t have a wardrobe, only a small rail on the wall; Adequate for a few garments. The single had a built in wardrobe. Neither of these things were a problem for us as we were only there for two nights but the rooms may be a bit small for a longer stay or if you have children with you.

Room was lovely, bed was so comfy, fab shower, late checkout. We had a lovely greeting and our dog was welcomed with claps and treats. Decor in the whole hotel was clean, modern and spot on. Although we didn't make it for breakfast, we were kicking ourselves as the menu looked great and in a lovely well laid out dining area too. Smelled delish. Definitely be back

Not the hotels fault at all, but our room was at the back and with it being the summer holidays the neighbours were out back with their 25 kids from crack of dawn, having a blast - a loud screaming blast. We were hoping for a lie in after a late night. But as I said not the hotels fault, next time now we know, I might ask for a room at the front if possible.

Really friendly and helpful staff and clean modern room, with cool decor. The tv has options to login to Netflix, prime etc, so we could watch anything we liked which is a major plus. Breakfast was great, with loads of choices and options to mix and match. We are already thinking about booking here again.

Friday night was a bit noisy with the jukebox in the bar being pretty loud, and our room being above it, but it was off by midnight and wasn’t excessive to us. It didn’t bother us, but if we had to get to sleep early for an early start it might have. The staff are so lovely though, I’m sure they would have understood if we felt we had to mention the noise increasing though. You should totally stay here if you can though. It’s a great hotel.

An extremely comfortable overnight stay in two recently refurbished and spotlessly clean ensuite rooms. We enjoyed a lovely dinner (of generous portions) and drinks there in the evening and a great breakfast the following morning. The staff members are extremely helpful and friendly, and the owner, Rossalyn, went above and beyond both before and during our stay to ensure our visit to Buckie was successful. The establishment is clearly popular with locals too , and there is a bar and beer garden to enjoy if you wish. Cannot recommend highly enough, if like us, you need to find somewhere to stay in Buckie at short notice.

Not applicable.

Excellent room. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was really good. Large portions and great coffee. Staff were very friendly. Private bathroom but it was not in the room but right opposite. Not an issue as the hotel was very quiet. Close to everything you could want. Shops and cafes close by. 5 minute walk from the coastal path. 5 minute drive to Port Gordon to seal watch or Bow Fiddle rock for amazing views. 10 minute drive to Cullun. Easy to find right on main Buckie road and lots of on street parking right outside

Bed ( mattress) very hard and uncomfortable so I folded up the duvet and slept on top which helped a little

Clean, comfortable, great food and service!

The only problem was the muggy heat the first week I stayed there. I opened the window but the seagulls kept me awake. I put the tall fan on thereafter but of course it was quite noisy! Hard to know what the solution could be! Maybe air vents in the window?

Absolutely brilliant. Rooms were excellent. Beds are super comfy and rooms and bathrooms have everything you could need. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and the food was lovely, service excellent and very reasonably priced for very large portions of delicious food. Breakfast was perfect, with lots of choice. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Nothing. Everything was excellent.

Friendly atmosphere, good breakfast and evening meal very accommodating to dietary requirements. Room was well laid out, spacious and a very comfy bed, loved the L shaped bath, although the room faces onto main road not a lot of noise or disruption.. Lovely enclosed beer garden and little play area for kids so adults can relax whilst enjoying a drink. Handy on street parking Definitely planning to go back Keep up the good work Rosyln and staff..

Just a small point..maybe direct people to bar for checking in as no one visible at time we arrived..
