Stayed a couple of nights - family of four - 2 adults and 2 teenagers- we had two rooms. Convenient that the teens could have their own room with 2 twin beds. We ate one night in the restaurant. Food was delicious. We also went to the bar. Amazing scotch selection. The included breakfast was superb - combination of buffet and made to order hot breakfast. Easy parking. Check in was fast and easy. Clean rooms. Excellent bath products including whisky lotion.

The bartender seemed overwhelmed for the number of guests/mixed drink orders. He was very knowledgeable about scotch and gave us great advice - it just took a long time!

We liked our room except for the fact that the shower leaked all over the floor. It's pretty typical in the UK to see these half-walled showers but this one was especially leaky. The bed was comfortable and the location is great. The restaurant has a limited menu but was good, and we liked being able to walk just across the street for another dining option. Lots of parking. Felt very safe and would be good for a solo traveler.

I hate that the wifi and cell service are completely unreliable. Breakfast would have been good in theory, but it took nearly an hour to get our food and there was only one other table seated!! The buffet had been completely decimated by our 9 am spot, the only time available, so we had limited options. The other two guests in the room ordered two avocado toasts and they seriously waited 45 minutes for their order as well. I heard the waitress tell them their food was being plated, and it took ten full minutes after that to arrive. It's a fine place to stay but I wouldn't recommend it without telling people to expect some annoyances. At a much lower price, I'd give this property a 9.

This hotel was fantastic. It met the historic charm of the Highlands that we were looking for. We paid for the breakfast to be included and the breakfast was delicious. The coffee was also fantastic. We loved that there was a restaurant right on site as well as another down the street so we had options and that there was a whisky bar at the hotel where we could grab a drink and take over to the library to hang out quietly. We loved our room and especially the whisky lotion/soaps/etc. I was sad not to be able to bring some home, but because we didn't have a checked bag, I couldn't purchase any.

We wish the bed had been a bit firmer and the key a little smaller/lighter, but other than that, we wouldn't change a thing. And honestly the key gave us a good laugh!

We were very fortunate to be upgraded and were given a beautiful room with double aspect windows and a whisky decanter on the table! Very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom with lovely fluffy towels. Very good meal at the attached Speyside Inn in the evening followed by a great time in the Quaich Bar sampling whiskies - thanks for the recommendation Oscar! Breakfast was delicious though service was somewhat slow (possibly not enough staff for a full hotel - the ones on duty were working very hard).

We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our one night at the hotel - but it is extremely expensive and not sure it is worth the extra cost compared with some other lovely hotels we used on our Scottish trip.

Although there were probably better views that we had, we did not request a room with a view. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious and had amenities like coffee/tea, iron/board, towel warmer, etc. We ate at the restaurant and the food was very good. I took several walks on the nearby trails, and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff was exceptional. Oscar, who staffed the Whiskey bar was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the over 600 bottles of Whiskey the bar holds. Jane, who staffed the front desk, was such a pleasure to talk to and was extremely helpful, providing suggestions on things to visit nearby. The property is near small shops and other pubs and restaurants.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Breakfast was included with the room and offered a very nice variety of cold table and prepared dishes. Very friendly, accommodating staff. This is exactly what you would expect from an old Scottish hotel - peaceful area, beautiful hardwood creaky floors, quiet rooms. The bed was incredibly comfy, dinner was superb, and the famous whisky bar fabulous. There are no elevators but there are accessible rooms and while there are no bellhops, there is usually someone around to help you haul your bags up the stairs if you are in an upper room.

WiFi is not good.

We stayed for one night and unfortunately it was during a storm and the hotel/restaurant lost power. Hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible and the kitchen were able to provide all the residents with a cold evening meal. The hotel was full and the staff ensured that all the areas were lit by candles and we had a lovely evening talking to other residents as there was no phone signal or wifi due to the power outage. Power was back on in the morning and had a lovely breakfast.

Loved the location and the old world traveller hotel feeling. The character of the property is outstanding and there has obviously been thought put into the experience from the key to the room to the library and the whiskey bar and restaurant. The room was pretty and the outdoor space was lovely. The staff kindly packed us a lunch, gave us great restaurant recommendations in the nearby area and were always helpful when asked. We had a fun evening in the Quaich bar chatting with people from around the world.

We found the food at the on site restaurant a bit expensive but tasty. There were a couple things we weren’t used to, like black mold in the bathroom, but we learned as we travelled around it’s a bit of a fact of life in old stone buildings.

This is a very nice hotel and perfectly situated for a visit to Speyside and doing some distillery tours. We enjoyed our room very much, it was spacious and comfortable. Although a lot of the pictures make this appear to be set in an idyllic woodsy area it is, in fact, near the highway and town, which actually was a benefit as we were able to walk to a couple of other bars to check them out.

I would say for a hotel that seems to present itself as upscale, I found the staff to be less that eager to help, including having to carry our own bags up the stairs to get to the room. We pack lightly so it was not too inconvenient but for some it might be a real challenge. I was also a bit surprised that the Quiche Bar was not busier but despite that the staff only engaged when we engaged first. The Spey Inn restaurant was busy and the food was fine but nothing to say any more about.

The staff, the whisky bar, and the food. Everyone was courteous and professional and Callum and Alfie were very knowledgeable and helpful in the whisky bar.

Clearly understaffed resulting in slow service and a feeling of mayhem at times despite staff obviously trying their very best. Other customers passed comment on their perceived decline in service since previous visits.. I was confused also as to why there would be additional surgcharge for some breakfast options. Why, for example would there be a £5 extra charge for some options and £3 charge for fresh juice?
