The room was clean, had everything we needed and it had a private bathroom. The ladies working there were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely.

I enjoyed my evening meal, but my dad didn't really enjoy his mixed grill- it wasn't good value for money on the grill. We waited quite a while for the meal to arrive (around 40 minutes) and the waiter said there were 2 large tables they were serving in the other room, which we thought was fair enough to start with, but then a couple was seated next to us as our food was arriving, they ordered and literally 10 minutes later- their food was served- they ordered the same meal i had, the burger. It was a bit bizarre how we waited nearly 40 minutes and others can get served quicker...the male waiter was a bit slow and found it difficult to understand a 'no peas' request on a the mixed grill dinner. But this is literally our only critism for our entire stay at the hotel.

A big lovely homely 'small town' Hotel which is tired in places but is being revamped. The staff were excellent. Our room was tired but there are other better rooms [having stayed there previously]. Breakfast was cooked on order and very good. Dinner was good old fashioned food for me. Massive portion, so I had to leave food. Bar area was very good and a great selection of booze. Top marks to Laura who multi tasked during our stay there. Accomodating and understanding she's a real asset to the Hotel. Great to see so many local staff on duty. It was clear there were repeat guests and all were positive in their views of the Hotel and staff. [FYI, my husband is giving this review.]

Okay, the Hotel was busy with loads of guests and our room was at the back and a bit tired but sufficient for a good nights rest. Clean and tidy.

Property was well located and catered for our dog which a lot of properties round the area did not. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Had a separate bar area which you could take dogs into. We had dinner one evening there which was very good and were able to have our breakfast there as well , again with our dog. Staff provided food for the dog, including sausages for his breakfast and water as well. Big paws up from the dog! 😀

We had been driving all day and booked this late one afternoon. It wasn’t overly expensive very affordable and included the most delicious breakfast. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The rooms were exceptionally clean. It had a bit of a Fawlty Towers feel to the place but with much friendlier and helpful staff. We all enjoyed our stay there and the lovely lady that served us breakfast. Happy to recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was spacious, clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Large modern bath was a real bonus. Restaurant food was top quality, breakfasts were amazing! We enjoyed our stay and will return.

It would have been great if the window had a blackout blind or heavier curtains to block out the light, but that's just personal preference and did not detract from our enjoyment.

Lovely hotel and in a good location staff very helpful and friendly had a slight problem but it was sorted out by the staff food in restaurant was lovely but be advised to book a table especially at the weekend as it gets very busy car parking is good as large car park

Every thing about the hotel was good so I had no problems

wonderful breakfast and room but the bed needs upgrade and curtains weren't blackout due brightest appears very early morning which made me very tired when waking up I was due to play my bowling championship didn't play very well due to tiredness lack of sleep which I am disappointed with that also the room was too cold in the evening

no heating broken kettle lid was already broken when we arrived but I didn't want to complain about that as we needed to stay for the weekend as I knew the area very well I have family and friends ties there

The hotel is well located in the centre of the town. Easy parking - we were almost certainly the last guests to arrive, with two large vans and had no problem getting spaces. They dealt well with a late check-in, no problem getting a key. Lots of amenities in the room - toiletries and even snacks, which was appreciated. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

The shower was a bit on the weak side - I would have liked a bit more pressure from it but I can't imagine it's an easy thing to upgrade in an older building.

Heating in room ( though to be fair, extra space heaters were available). Room at far side of hotel meant we had to walk puppy through hotel. We had permission from reception staff to use the back fire exit when taking dog out, but after the first day there, a sign was put on fire exit not to use it - ! Staff communications

Everyone was so friendly and treated us as friends. The bedroom was clean and the food was exceptional. Great choice of breakfast. Can't fault that location. I have been recommending it to my friends . Would definitely stay again.

Nothing. It's an old hotel full of character. It's been described as tired but that did not detract from our stay.
