Quad room was a good size with a decent amount of furniture for clothes/bag storage too. Bathroom was clean and perfectly adequate. Food was good quality and young staff were very friendly and accommodating. Ice cream shop next door looked amazing and served waffles too. Co-op down the road served takeaway coffees. Few minutes walk to the beach. Parking on the road no problem. Dogs were allowed in dinner and breakfasting areas so that was really helpful. We just tucked them under our table.

Food service was a little slow but they allowed us to pre-order breakfast so we could get out a bit quicker the second morning as we had somewhere to be. Single bed mattresses were very hard. Could do with a soft topper.

We had a lovely stay at this family-run hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious enough, the bed very cozy, and the price really good value for what you get. All the staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate every guest’s needs. Breakfast was busy the morning we were there, and the staff were very upfront about it—they let us know there might be a wait and offered tea/coffee and access to the buffet table while we waited. We were in no rush, so it was totally fine. I appreciated getting lactose-free milk straight away, and when our cooked breakfast came, it was really tasty. It’s clear the team works hard to make everyone feel welcome, even under pressure. Sometimes things take a bit longer, but that’s just part of a personal, hands-on approach in a busy family-run place. We’d definitely stay again!

Very friendly staff. Our room wasn’t ready on arrival due to a plumbing issue but we were offered free drinks at the bar! It’s in a great location on the high street and only a short walk to the harbour and beach. We had the family room which was spacious . Breakfast was good.

It’s a 3 Star property so was as expected really but the room needed redecorating in places and some of the items weren’t clean. The wifi is unusable for streaming. We had a room at the front and the traffic noise would be a bit much for light sleepers I’d say .

Top marks to the Station Hotel Portsoy for having every thing right for our stay. Large room, super clean and fresh smelling with easy to adjust window. Large comfy bed and lovely clean bed linen and towels. Everything we needed! Most notable was the staff: polite, helpful and always there when needed (no hanging about waiting for staff to appear!). Special mention to the breakfast waitress who was super polite, smartly dressed and ready and willing to assist us. After some disappointing experiences with staff (and lack of staff) in other hotels it was so wonderful to find a hotel that gets these things right, with staff who seemed genuinely happy to help. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Our stay at the Station Hotel in the charming town of Portsoy was an absolute delight from start to finish. As soon as we stepped through the doors, we were enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly put us at ease. The friendly staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodations were impeccable – my room was not only spotlessly clean but also beautifully appointed with cozy touches that made it feel like a true home away from home. And the food? Simply divine! The hotel's restaurant serves up mouthwatering Scottish cuisine crafted from the freshest local ingredients, with a particular focus on incredibly fresh and flavorful seafood dishes. The fish and chips were the best we had in Scotland.

Large room, cosy, tv, tea/coffee facilities, WiFi. Varied breakfast menu. Tasty breakfast. Great location, easy walk to cafes, restaurants, harbour, etc. 11am checkout was good, not too early. Friendly, helpful staff.

Shower temperature was difficult to control. Bathroom was very noisy- squeaky floorboards, noisy flush. I didn't want to disturb people near/under my room. Bathroom door had hole in it. Needed repaired.

Great position in the centre of town with plenty of local free parking. Friendly, welcoming staff and a good breakfast. Comfy room, spacious bathroom. Good information pack in the room and tray to make drinks.

There was noise on the Saturday night. We know this hotel has a bar but it also has a large hall for entertainments. We would have appreciated being told about the fundraiser and potential disturbance on our first night. We would have been happy to either join in or stay out longer.

What a gem, portsoy is really nice peaceful little place. The station hotel is an old fashioned comfortable hotel with large rooms . The high street is not busy and so not intrusive. Be warned the breakfasts are large and a good veriety of options. Service was pleasant and efficient from the reception Lady , bar Lady through to the Waitress. Give this a try if your wanting a pleasant stay in a peaceful location Highly recommend the fish supper from down the road and sitting by the harbour.

Well situated - quiet, even though on the main road. Parking easy. Spacious and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and evening meals were also very good. Friendly ownner and staff.

Only one comment: we stayed for three nights, and were a little disappointed that the menu, including the specials, really didn't vary much. Fine for our three nights, but would have been less so had we stayed longer. Please note - all the food was excellent!

Breakfast was a good selection of fruit, yoghurts, cereal and my favourite granola. Toast machine and plenty of fresh juices and tea coffee. The cooked breakfast had a great choice too and cooked to order. The bedroom was very big with a massive bed, complimentary fizzy water and tea/coffee tray. Roomy bathrooms with shower. Hotel central and the menu is really good. Nothing was too much bother for any of the staff. Would definitely recommend to others and will return in the future to do more exploring.

The water pressure in my shower was very low. Maybe because it was top floor but unsure. I struggle to think of anything else that could be improved.
