Breakfast was exceptional, and the food in the restaurant was really good. Rosehearty is a very remote and quiet place, the location of the hotel next to the sea was very welcome. Lots of street parking in front of the hotel. I think the most outstanding thing was the friendliness of the people running the place, they are an independent, not a group and it shows in the way it is run. Don't let the appearance of the building put you off, it's a protected building and the room I had was spacious, clean and well decorated.

We had a lovely Scottish welcome from the lady in the bar. She gave us a tour of the hotel and was really friendly - even though we arrived quite late in the evening. Fantastic location with a clear sea view, and really near the beach. Free, safe parking right outside. Very comfy bed, excellent shower. Really lovely breakfasts with good variety. We enjoyed fruit salads, porridge, pancakes and full Scottish breakfasts. Excellent chef! Plenty of space - we had room 3. Great to have a blanket and plug-in radiator. And good to have a kettle and tea and coffee. Would have liked decaff tea, bigger cups and more supplies - a lovely touch to give us Tunnocks bars. Would have liked to have one every day, but we only had them on two out of four days. But a fab stay! Highly recommended!

We had a super time, we slept and ate well. Few minor things: Bathroom window was screwed shut - we were worried the shower steam might have set the fire alarm off. Would have also liked yogurts at breakfast. Thin wall - could hear the person next door snoring! GB news was on one morning - not great as most of it is made up. Had ITV the other days. Room servicing wasn't great on the last day. BUT these are all small things. Don't let them put you off coming here!

Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and there was good parking outside. Our room had an excellent view of the harbour and sea. The breakfast was very well cooked and presented with a wide choice.

The rooms were not as soundproof as more modern hotels but in fairness ear plugs were provided but we didn't need to use them. The stairs and corridors were a little creaky but our fellow travellers were considerate.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice big room comfly bed sleept well very good selection to choice from at breakfast menu and plenty of it. Free parking out side the hotel. If and when we are staying in the area again we will definitely stay again. Super sea view. The bar prices are fantastic £10.50 for a pint of larger and a large glass of wine. Were we live you pay that for a large glass of wine

Jane, one of the staff at the hotel, made the trip. She recommended places for us to stop and see that we would have never have guessed or known about. It is a treasure of a little hotel. The beds were a bit to firm for us, but that is minor in comparison to all the other advantages and pleasures of the property. Breakfast was great and the cooks know what they are doing. Great value for the price and highly recommend a stay. We got to see the Northern Lights!

The receptionist was very cheerful, helpful and gave all relevant information, then I was shown to my room. Hotel looked to have undergone renovation and so the room was clean and fresh. Extra pillows in the wardrobe along with iron and ironing board, additional plug in heater etc. In all very well appointed as was the bathroom. Food in the restaurant was superb and reasonably priced, served by helpful, cheerful staff. Breakfast has a good offering to suit everyone and is served very quickly. In all a great stay. I will certainly use again in future.

Was not sure what to expect when we arrived, Rosehearty is a bit of a one horse town and the Davron the only place to stay, but the welcome was warm and friendly, checking in was easy and the room was a good size with a view of the street and if you look across you can see the shoreline. Strange thing was the TV mounted on the wall to the side of the bed, so if watching, you got a crick in the neck. But the room was warm and comfortable. Food being served in the function room was good especially breakfast with a good choice of dishes. Evening food was good, which is good as there is no other place to eat. Rosehearty is an interesting little village, a nice little walk around, so over all very enjoyable.

The positioning of the TV, very strange, but apart from that nothing that could be classed as a downer.

Staff really friendly, room lovely and clean and location was great for us as we were visiting family in Rosehearty. Bed was comfy, room had all the things you'd need (hair dryer, tea and coffee facilities, even a desk + chair, which some hotels don't bother with these days). Didn't have the breakfast because we had our meals with family each day, so can't comment on it. Would definitely stay here again :)

Hardly any issues - the only con was that the fire door to our bedroom didn't fully fit in the door jamb, so any slight movement, or having the window open a touch, meant that it rattled a bit and made noise, meaning we couldn't really have the window open while sleeping for some fresh air

We are regular guests, we enjoy the hotel and all its features. The reception is always friendly and answers any questions we have. The room is always very clean and warm when we arrived. We had dinner in the restaurant (fantastic gluten free options, we recommend the fish), breakfast was lovely, well prepared, tasted fantastic (gluten free options). We will continue to return to The Davron, it is our lovely get away in the north. Thank you so much your hospitality.

- Rooms / interieur are standard for a road-trip-hotel (not a problem for us, but might be for someone staying longer) - Talking of other guests can be heard quite easily in the rooms (nice of the hotel to provide free hearing protection)
