1. Our family particularly went to visit Padre Pio. The hotel did not disappoint. looking around, I can say this is the best hotel to stay if visiting the monastery. there are of course other options (self catering, cheaper etc) which are also around monastery but if you are up for comfort, this place has satisfied all our family requirement. we have 2 kids ages 14 and 10 so we booked a family room. its a good size to fit all 4 of our luggage's since we are from across the world and we are to travel around Italy. The room is clean and anything else you need, they are happy to assist. The pool is also good enough as my husband entertains the boys as they headed back after the mass and I can have as much time sitting solemnly and saying my prayers to the Lord through Padre Pio. 2. just across the hotel (just cross the small road :) ..) is the beautiful entrance of the monastery, its a long pathway lined up with pines where you will see the big cross in the middle. sitting on the hotel veranda at night is so solemn as you look up to the lighted cross of the monastery. 3. Mass schedule is available at the monastery office, they have english options - all you need is to enquire. they will also give you map of the complex. 4. Padre Pio's mortal remains is at the new church - at the underground chapel. I've attended 7:30Am mass. Theres a reception on the same ground where you can offer mass, confessions etc. 5. the old church where Padre Pio used to hold masses and confessions is at the higher ground. on that same area, you can have all the souvenirs blessed. theres a stand by priest most of the day. 5. the hotel itself has restaurant but if you fancy something else, there are number of restaurants up the hill across the old church. worth noting that it is better to carry essentials as this is a small town. theres no big supermarket nearby.

nothing to dislike really. it has everything we need to be comfortable. it is however for a short stay particularly visiting the monastery and Padre Pio.

We came to San Giovanni Rotondo to visit St. Padre Pio Sanctuary, so this hotel was a great choice. The sanctuary is located just across the road from the hotel. It was just a short walk to everything we wanted to see, our breakfast was included which was lovely too. Staff were all friendly and welcoming also helpful. Previous to arrival we contacted the hotel & they helped us arrange our transfer to the hotel to & from the airport in Bari at a reasonable cost in comparison to online transfers.

The spa was wonderful - I got a massage there and it was a relaxing experience. I wish I had known more about the sauna portion, I would have made more time and taken advantage of that. I tried to go for a hike near the water, and drove pretty far my first day, but on my second, I discovered a wonderful walk up the mountain - the hotel is located near a beautiful church and it seemed like there was a hiking trail behind it.

The parking was free so that was great, but the spots were tight! Also, I tried to leave early one morning for a hike, and it was difficult to get the garage door opened. Shower was a little small and seemed a bit shabby. Also, someone else mentioned this and I should have paid attention, but Saturday evening was LOUD with some music playing possibly near the bar? I would second the recommendation to bring ear plugs.

Great location.

Don’t eat at the main restaurant in the hotel. Only a few servers speak English. There were 16!family members in our group. One waiter assumed right away that we are part of the pilgrim group so he directed us to go to the restaurant downstairs. As soon as we got downstairs, we were asked to go back upstairs because the downstairs restaurant is only for pilgrims. All 16 of us went back upstairs only to be told by the same waiter to go back downstairs. Luckily, one waiter intervened and realized that we are not part on the pilgrim group. We were finally seated. We waited over 2 hours for some of our food to come. When o asked where are the red of our order, I was told that the kitchen was closed. This experience is very disappointing.

the hotel is fantastic for praying, very close to the Sanctuary; The hotel's spa is small but friendly; the families' breakfast was good and varied; the group breakfast was scary (little on offer and very basic). the restaurant is fair and good in the food, if you aim to stay in the hotel! It has a garage to stop car and bus, very good

the pool was dirty and they wanted us to bring towels from home... imagine for those who travel to take towels from the pool... the employee who stated this requirement for towels said it rightly... that was what was needed for the hotel to provide towels to go to the hotel pool...that was what was needed!!! At the reception they are very restrict with time to check in and check out, take attention.

The restaurant "Sale e Pepe" was exceptionally good. Polite, competent, well-informed personnel; very good, creative dishes reflecting the local cuisines but with interesting variations. Excellent local bread. We had very interesting local craft beer.

For a four-star hotel, a few things need to be taken care of. The sheets in the bedroom needed better care, they had holes in them. The television was rather small for the room; and its reception (on a rainy night) was so problematic as to be nearly unviewable at times. The breakfast was not too bad for a four-star hotel, but the coffee was absolutely awful. The machine was clearly serving instant coffee / Nescafe. Surely they can do better than that. The hotel charges 19 Euros for a late checkout, which is curious.

The staff were incredible. We had an accident en route (6 m on a Saturday night). We rang the Hotel who arranged for a breakdown truck to collect us. Could not have asked for more. The restaurant food was fantastic. Far better than the number 1 and number 2 restaurants on TripAdvisor - we tried them both.

The breakfasts were poor. Apart from that we had no complaints about anything.

I like the cleanliness of the room. Water heater is working well in the bathroom. Breakfast is amazing! It would be good if the hotel provides bedroom slippers. Also, the flights of stairs in front of the hotel is the only major negative point cos one would need to carry your heavy luggages up those stairs.

The standard was very high. But it was the staff especially Francesco who made our trip so special. Nothing was any bother and all were genuinely so pleasant. I would really hope to go back and stay in the future. A really top class hotel and so conveniently located to St Pio’s Shrine 🙏

Nothing basically it’s a lovely hotel

Excellent location and v good soundproofing as heard no noise from parties etc The cleaners were super friendly and helpful - helped me locate shorts that flew from my window to balcony below.

Avoid coffee machine and go straight to proper coffee at hotel which was excellent Pool didn’t open always at 9 am but closer to 10 am
