Great central location, lovely apartment, clean and comfortable. Really well insulated, no noise from the street or from other apartments. I’d emailed them beforehand as my flight arrived early and asked if they could store my luggage until check in, when I arrived they said the room was already ready so could check in 3 hours early. Likewise let me store my luggage on check out day. Really helpful staff

Really happy with our stay at K16 Apartments. The location was ideal for our short stay in Akureyri, just minutes away from bars and restaurants, with free parking on site for our hire car. Apartment was simply furnished, very clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities, very warm heating (needed given the -17c temperatures outside) wifi worked well, and access was easy with door codes. Overall a great value for money base for a long weekend exploring Northern Iceland. Would happily return

We’re a couple travelling the Ring Road and had a fantastic stay in Akureyri. The apartment is in a great location with easy access to town and free parking, which made everything super convenient. When we realised there wasn’t a bottle opener in the apartment, the host was incredibly responsive—within half an hour, they personally brought one over so we could enjoy a special bottle of wine we’d brought with us. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve had in Iceland, thanks to a proper mattress topper that kept it feeling like a true double (not two singles sliding apart!). The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook our own meals, which was perfect after long days of exploring. Highly recommend this spot to anyone travelling the Ring Road—it’s cosy, well set up, and hosted with care!

Highly recommended! The apartments are in a great location, close to everything you need, though nothing is really far away! For me this type of accomodation is preferable to a hotel as you have the privacy and can do things on your own schedules, and have facilities to get groceries and not have to eat/drink out all the time. Netto is about a 25min walk away and is open later than Bonus so this was perfect for when I arrived. The facilities in the apartment are all in good condition and I didn't have any problems with anything in the apartment when I was here. Plenty of towels, toilet roll, areas to store suitcase, clothes etc. Communal areas were clean and tidy, the key code was provided when it said it would be, and the controls easy to use. There was a guide in the room with helpful advice and explaining oven, air vents etc The host, Gunny, was very responsive to messages, very helpful in the lead up to the trip, and throughout when I needed help and advice for various things. Nothing was too much trouble! It was much appreciated I had a car for part of my trip and was able to park at the apartments each time I needed. Others have mentioned non-opening windows - in my apartment there were small windows you could open for ventilation so this seems to vary by property. I'm not putting this in the 'sad face' section - just an advisement that the apartments are on a hill, so if this is a challenge for you to walk up, plan accordingly. It was a good hamstring workout :-) No accomodation is 'cheap' in Iceland - but feel K16 offers good price for what it offers and had everything I need when I stay in Iceland and would happily stay again and recommend to others. Lovely spacious apartment with really comfortable beds and a great shower. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and made it easy to offset some of our costs by cooking some of our own meals. It was also really useful having access to a washing machine as we needed a few things washing by this point in our trip. Everything was really clean and the corridors etc remained really clean throughout our stay. Great location with easy access to the town centre restaurants shops and bars, or a short drive to the bigger grocery shops. Great place for a longer stay in Akureyri, has everything you need to be comfortable and have more independence around food.

I cannot think of any faults or flaws worth mentioning. I'd have to think really hard to nitpick anything.

Clean apartment with comfy beds. We could use the washer and dryer in the laundry room for free. There is a laundry room on each floor. Excellent location near food and shops. There is an excellent creperie and kebab store within 5mins walk from the apartment. The botanical gardens is also within 15mins walk from the apartment which makes for a nice morning stroll.

The shower screen was too small, shower water pressure was not strong and only shower gel was provided, no shampoo. We stayed in room 105 and we couldn’t lift the blinds as the windows of this room are street level facing the road, so we have to keep the blinds down throughout for privacy

We really liked the place, very happy we got an apartment on the first floor and not the ground floor! Thank you for that. Was very nice to be able to open windows. You enter with a code (same for the main door and the apartment) that the owner sends you before check in opens. There is a washer and a drier to use for guests in shared spaces, which was brilliant. Place is spacious, kitchen well equipted and beds comfortable. We also really liked the dimmable lights. The place was very clean and there were darkening curtains but they still let a lot of light through. The spot is right in the centre, which was very nice. Botanical garden was 10 min. walk away.

We didnt get a shampoo or a hand soap. :( Curtains let in a lot of lights at night and theres was a lot of traffic on the street, esp. some cars revving late at night. We did manage to sleep through.

Everything..location right in town..cleanliness not a speck of dust anywhere..total darkness at night right through...no noise at all from traffic or other residents (we might just have been lucky their)...Everything worked and fully stocked with all your needs..Had Netflix you tube channels etc and 230 mbs Internet...keyless entry so no looking for the key and great recycling facilities..bed had thick bedtopper mattress and was a delight to sleep in..loads of cafe bars restaurants on your doorstep

Great location, a short 5 minute stroll to the main street. Plenty of available parking. A big apartment with everything we needed for our family of four, the apartment might have felt a little dark being basement level with only high windows but it was mid winter when we stayed so outside was dark most of the time anyway. The apartment was lovely and quiet, we never heard any other people. I feel this place offers excellent value for money and was really good for the low price we paid (in contrast to many other accommodation options in the town).

Nothing - we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We loved Akureyri!

Close walking distance to shops. bars, restaurants, cultural centre, buses etc. Easy onsite parking. Very clean.

I would have liked to be higher up in the building as our blinds couldn't be opened as they opened straight onto street -would have liked to be able to open windows for fresh air - it felt stuffy and hot with radiators on. Also, we didn't find the toaster, teabags etc until after we bought some more as they were in a drawer and not cupboard as we might have expected. This may have been our issue though. Sofa bed was not that comfortable but we do understand that this is often the case. Clock was not working. Finally, we could not get overhead shower to work and so used handheld instead.
