Very nice and traditional Japanese hotel on Lake Suwa. The meals were delicious and they were able to accommodate severe allergies. The Onsen is very relaxing and great addition to a trip to Japan. The shuttle from the train station is very easy.

The property's facilities are nice but feel a bit old and could use some touch-ups here and there. While the staff was very friendly, the majority would only address my boyfriend and not me. The food was good but could be difficult for picky eaters, and while they were accommodating of allergies, it is good to double-check and confirm before eating.

Breakfast was amazing and the Kaiseki dinner the prior night was incredible. Exactly what I wanted.

Better description of what was included in the Kaiseki, as my husband was vegetarian and couldn't eat the dinner at all. I asked if he could swap for the children's curry meal and we were told no, so he went out for a 7 Eleven meal instead. That was very bad form by the restaurant staff considering such an amazing hotel. There was no understanding or flexibility. I had to eat 2 servings of Kaiseki on my own. My husband will not stay here again.

Stunning location with Lake Suwa just in front of you. Rooms are spacious, Japanese style but we had western beds. Lovely public onsen, we had an amazing dinner and breakfast (highly recommended). We got a free shuttle transfer from Kamisuwa station, the staff are very nice and helpful. There is also a cute souvenir store inside where you can buy a lot of local specialties

Nothing! Please note that Lake Suwa is not a touristy area for foreigners, so you will need to use Google translate and be patient and respectful when communicating with staff. They’re super lovely and try their best.

Great location by the lakeside, wonderfully polite and attentive staff (you will need to know some Japanese) and delicious Japanese-style breakfasts. The baths were gloriously relaxing, and while the private bath has an extra fee attached, it's well worth it to enjoy a relaxing bath with your opposite-sex partner. The staff and locals were all very welcoming to us as western tourists, everyone we met seemed genuinely delighted that we chose to visit Suwa.

The room (standard triple, futons on tatami) was comfortable and of a good size for two, but seemed a little shabby/un-updated compared to the luxurious presentation of the rest of the premises. I didn't notice at the time of booking that there was no bathing facility in the room, which was fine - my fault for not reading the description!

The kaiseki dinner on our first night was excellent. the breakfast was good on both days. ourroom was very spacious and we enjoyed the in room onsen. the view of lake suwa from our room was incredible! .

the fusion dinner on our second night was not as good as the first night kaiseki. we would have preferred japanese kaiseki dinner again.

It was simply an amazing experience. From an incredibly efficient and kind staff crew to the great onsen and the luxury Kaiseki experience. Everything was perfect. They take great care of their guest and will pay attention to all small details to make your stay memorable. You will also greatly appreciate the free shuttle taking you to the station and to Suwa famous beautiful shrines. Not to mention their very nice bus driver who takes time to explain everything at each spot.

The Breakfast was exceptional and I loved how carefully curated each part of the meal was. The staff were great and the room was delightful.

Lots of bugs in the onsen area. The staff worked diligently to get them out but even so, something to prevent them from coming in in the first place would be great.

This is a beautiful hotel in a superb location for walking, enjoying the lake and enjoying both the excellent food and the onsen. We had large rooms with private onsens overlooking the lake, and these rooms were equipped with everything imaginable, large and luxurious.

A very nice ryokan, serving traditional japanese brrakfast and dinner. You have your private parlour in the restaurant, where you are served. The rooms are traditional, you sleep in the futon beds, which the staff makes for you. The rooms with lake view are just amazing.

The private onsen is a bit disappointing. It has one small pool and is not very clean.

We were in two different rooms, as we decided to stay a third night but needed to move to a different room. Both were clean and beautiful, in traditional Japanese style. Futons were very comfortable. Both the men's and women's onsens were clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Free tour of four local shrines was a nice extra, plus a free wine or beer every evening.

Really, we were fully satisfied.
