Charlotte on Reception gets a 10/10 as do the Housekeeping team - the room was spotlessly clean. Incredibly grateful for the air conditioning when it was 34 degrees outside! Onsite parking invaluable and good value too.

- The Restaurant and Bar are run by a separate company. The Barman doubles up as a server and the Restaurant trumps the Bar so if the Restaurant is busy there is no bar service. Or if it’s quiet, ditto. Luckily for us Charlotte came to our rescue! - No fridge - they have been removed apart from the Suites (?) - we had Deluxe Rooms. As we were there for four days we would have liked the facility to keep milk and cold water etc - No coffee machine - maybe this is also available in the Suites. Nescafé instant coffee is slightly passé! - The Meuse facing rooms with the balconies are lovely, but as stated by others, noisy. Bring earplugs and enjoy the view! - We would stay again!

Location and clean. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good.

Why, as a guest, did we have to pay to park our car. The cost of the room becomes inflated as the management tries and gets as much money out of you as possible.

The hotel itself is grand and spacious. Beautiful room with a wonderful view of the river and the old city gate, complete with a balcony. Parking was extremely convenient and secure;. Just be aware that the entrance for parking comes up before you reach the hotel's front door on a one-way street; they'll buzz you in. The breakfast incorporated a wide variety of hot and cold items, and was very well-rounded and delicious. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

There was some loud revelry from a moored riverboat. If this is a concern for you, you might consider a room on the garden side of the property.

A really beautiful building in a prime position at the entrance to the town, close to monuments and overlooking the river. Our room was large with a generous and modern bathroom. It had a river view. This was such a good value stay. There is gated parking available for €15 but we found free parking in a large lot only a short walk away on Rue du Huit Mai 1945.

Nothing at all not to like, just an observation that the hotel seemed so quiet for its size. We were unclear if the restaurant was open for anything other than breakfast. We’d been told in advance that their ‘relaxation area’ wasn’t open during our stay.

A stunning hotel with gardens set on the river Meuse. Our room was lovely and spacious overlooking the river and the beautiful historic city of Verdun. The hotel has parking... magic, but also they have a lift from the carpark to all floors (trolley available for luggage)!! couldn't ask for anything more. Only a 15 minute walk to the Vet's (Clinique Veterinaire de La Paix) for our Lurchers medication required to return to UK. There is so much to see and the memorials to the fallen from the Battle of Verdun are beautiful and peaceful. Lest we forget.

Nothing

Location is excellent. A very short walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Hotel is clean and extremely nice. The staff is top notch, friendly, and very helpful. I dropped an important piece of jewelry in the room and accidentally left it behind after check-out (entirely my fault). Even after my stay ended the staff was very quick to respond to messages and even performed multiple checks for me to find what I left behind and did not stop until everything was found. The level of care I experienced when it was something that was entirely my fault was incredible. I hope to be back in the area one day and will definitely look to stay at Les Jardins du Mess. Definitely recommend staying here.

Nothing, everything was great.

Location In the centre of town, right next to the Tourist Bureau with a beautiful view of River Meuse. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping districts. The Junior Suite room Incredibly comfortable, great beds. Amazing bathroom... the best bathtub ever. It was great to soak in after walking the battlefields, sipping a glass of wine. Breakfast High quality produce. The creamiest, softest scrambled eggs... delicious. Staff Lilian and Esteban, on the front desk, were brilliant. Extremely friendly, genuine, and highly professional.

Nothing.

Excellent location. Good parking. The restaurant was excellent - well done the Italian chef!

They advertised that the bar was open, but it was not the whole time we were there! Also, and it wasn't the hotel's fault, the road outside the hotel was closed for most of the day, the 2 days we were there, by the local council. This was communicated satisfactorily by the hotel, but it was still inconvenient. It was also sometimes difficult to get the gates to the parking to open.

Beautiful building. Great location. Great AC (it was 33 degrees outside), beautiful bathroom, and shower, even a heated mirror in the bathroom to prevent misting. Free water in the room. Secure parking for €15. Lots of riverside bars and restaurants a short walk across the bridge from the hotel.

No fridge in the room. Only one person was on reception, and we had to wait to check out because she was on a very long telephone call! However, it wasn't her fault, and she was lovely.
