Lovely family run little guest house Easy to locate, with a great location within walking distance of the town center. Met on arrival and shown to room so great service Felt safe as door was locked and needed a key to get into house Parking was a bonus and was plenty of it Breakfast was amazing the scrambled eggs were divine Windows in the room opened and that was great as i love fresh air

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast provided was incredible. The hosts were super friendly. We'd definitely stay again if visiting Dumfries.

Not the hosts' fault at all, but Dumfries is very quiet, especially on a Friday night when you'd expect it to be lively. The town is great as a stopover, or if you have an event nearby, but to visit, there's not an awful lot here.

What a lovely place to stay... generous sized rooms in keeping with the traditional design, beautifully decorated... very stylish. But the best was the genuine care of the owners, expressed in all communications and service. Great breakfast, and the hosts were so helpful. When im back in Dumfries I will look for a room here first... specially recommended.

Nothing not to like

Not too far from the centre with plenty of car parking. Large bedroom which was very clean and maintained It is an old house with feature furniture which we liked. The welcome was very friendly and the owners couldn’t do enough for you. There is a resident’s lounge area with breakfast section. You can use the fridge and microwave!

Nothing, they have it spot on

We like the quietness of the place; breakfast was very good and both hosts were very friendly and helpful. Carpark at the venue was very convenient.

First impression was like " What have we done" unfortunately this property was involved in an accident where a truck smashed into their front fence and looked messed up with bricks laying on the floor. We do realized this happened only recently.

Good location close to town centre and local golf courses, rooms were good size and a good breakfast each morning. The hosts were lovely people and made us feel welcome, also helped us out with our travel plans up to Royal Troon for the Open.

Nothing to complain about!

Beautiful guest house. Really loved my room, it was incredibly clean and comfortable and the beds in particular were lovely. You got a nice big TV as well as a lovely desk and some chairs. Honestly couldn't fault it.

Really scraping the barrel but if I had to pick something then the breakfast was pretty bland and there wasn't espresso coffee/ coffee was very weak.

Spotlessly clean, good sized room, great TV. We received a lovely, warm welcome and our host was very helpful. Useful parking at the rear of the property. Good quality breakfast and excellent service.

Located a little out of the centre of Dumfries but not an issue for us and obviously that’s no fault of the owner. If being ultra critical, the bed felt a little lumpy, although my wife said her side was fine. We were only there 1 night so again not a real problem.

Great hosts, very welcoming, helpful ,& friendly. Rooms spacious, beds comfy & tea-making facilities welcomed. Breakfast was delicious & cooked as requested. I would definitely stay there again & recommend Hamilton House to friends & family

Owners were very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent, and we really appreciated the use of the guest lounge.

Shower room was rather small for a twin room. I felt the mattress was a little too soft/springy.
