We had the upstairs apartment. It may not have been the most modern place we ever stayed in but it was very clean, quaint, quiet and suited our needs. The pool was lovely, the beds were really comfortable and the linen was spotless. Air-conditioning in both rooms. We did have next door neighbours but could only hear them chatting when we were in the toilet. No complaints at all.

We were very happy with everything. We actually stayed an extra night, had originally booked 2 nights stayed for 3.

Cleanest motel I have ever stayed at! Very welcoming and the family room was well laid out and not squishy at all. Enough cups, towels and anything else needed for 5 people. Easy check in and out. The aircon was quiet and efficient and quiet at night while the motel had plenty of guests.

One bed was pretty uncomfortable but the rest of the room and beds more than made up for it. The bathroom door was tricky but again, not a big issue.

We’ve stayed at Poet’s before and it again did not disappoint. Fortunately I booked well in advance as the motel was full (likewise on our return trip and we missed out.) Selecting the bigger room was well worth it and such a relief at the end of driving 12-hours from the Tweed to Gundi! Host Ronnie’s follow-up phone call was a personal and much appreciated touch, with just 20-kilometres to go on our long journey. A warm country welcome and Ronnie and her hubby were happy to suggest local eateries still open after 8pm. Thank you!

Very slight .. but would’ve been ideal if car parking was dedicated to/or near our reserved room but we still got to park close.

Well presented, very nice bed linen, excellent toiletries provided. Heater worked very well on a particularly cold night. Great location to walk into town. Staff were very welcoming.

It was only for one night but would have preferred another room if staying longer. I like a small room but the design of this one was too tight for 2 people. So little space around the bed.

I liked the space, the location, the fridge & microwave set up. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Could access streaming services on the tv. Would stay there again!

There was a stairwell outside my window, and that made the room a little noisy with people going up/down. But it was fine overnight, and this small inconvenience was definitely outweighed by the positives.

I loved the information book with all the wonderful stories about Gundagai. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

As I am arthritic I would have preferred the top section of the stairs to have a handrail. The room was small but a comfortable chair would have been welcomed. And a sachet of dishwashing detergent would also have been nice.

Neat and clean. Staff were friendly and very accommodating on our late arrival. Room was big enough to fit us all and electric blankets were a godsend for the winter. Very well located to shopping facilities and an excellent halfway point for our journey.

Bigger mugs needed for tea and coffee. Nothing major.

Vicky and her husband were very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. This is our second stay at Poets Recall, and we’d certainly stay again.

The only downside was having a room upstairs, as we had quite a lot of luggage to climb the stairs with. We would’ve preferred a ground floor room, but honestly, it a big deal.

Breakfast and dinnernot provided but liked the location as we could walk to the local hotel and get a good meal.As well the Niagrah Cafe around the corner was open at 8am where we had a delicious breakfast before we continued on our journey The town was quaint and charming. Loved the surroundings.

Think it would have been good if breakfast had been provided and that the restaurant was open at night for the tourists and locals. Otherwise no complaints.

The motel is in a very convenient location with plenty of off-street parking. The room was very comfortable with very good to excellent facilities. The shower was ideal, as it was adjustable for guests of varying heights. Also, there were extra features, such as an iron and ironing board, hair dryer and toaster.
