Central location, room was away from pub in extension, room was clean and comfortable

We think it would have been hot in the summer, also there was no parking. We arrived on a motorbike and were not allowed to leave it in the back yard or driveway for safekeeping. We ended parking it in another pub car park close by in exchange for having a meal there.

Well set up pub rooms, excellent value for money, great location right in the middle of Buxton. Clean and well kept, staff helpful and friendly. Rooms are well separated from the main pub, being out the back across the beer garden (which doesn't open late). Pub itself is a good spot, and there's various other pubs, cafes and restaurants within a few minutes' walk.

Loud floorboards and stairs, close rooms and banging doors mean this is probably a place for early risers. On the other hand, no problems with overnight noise (or from the pub itself, which is well separated from the rooms), so you should sleep fine.

The room looked recently refurbished and was very clean. Lovely fluffy towels. Beds comfortable. Breakfast well cooked and delicious. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Good lighting and mirror in the bathroom, which there too often isn’t!

The room was a bit on the small side, so there was only room for one small chair. We couldn’t have made a cup of tea and both sat down to drink it. We chose to stay in a pub because we thought it would be nice to spend a quiet hour in the bar with a drink before bedtime, but it isn’t that kind of pub. It is very much a football pub and there is at least one TV on every single wall. If that’s the kind of pub you like, you will love it!

Very clean and comfortable room (15) which despite being behind a pub, was very very quiet. The beer garden is closed off at night to prevent noise from reaching the rooms. Super friendly staff and excellent cooked breakfast.

The daily room cleaning was a bit erratic - on one day it wasn’t done, but I was given fresh towels on request. Also the bath/shower combo had no anti-slip mat but again one was provided after I asked.

Lovely little room. Amazing shower! Friendly staff. Could have breakfast in the bar if ordered the evening before, but no other food available in the bar apart from crisps and nuts. Quiet in the evening as the rooms are in different buildings behind the pub (not sure if this would be the same in the summer when people are using the pub garden.)

One small window out on to the street behind (on ground floor.) Noisy from between 5 and 6 in the morning.

Separate accommodation building. Breakfast was good, and all the staff were very friendly.

Pub is a bit run down, or you could say 80’s themed 😂. Also was told I could charge my electric car, but the charger which was located on double yellow lines!! was busy on arrival & inaccessible later. Luckily I’d fully charged my car, so didn’t need the extra power but someone coming from further away could be in big trouble if it happened to them.

The room was great- clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast, which was the full English type- you could select items from the breakfast menu, also juice and cereal was available- was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, even allowing my friends to wait in our room to surprise my wife (we went there to celebrate her birthday) before we'd officially booked in.

We had no problems at all. The pub itself is noisy and busy at night, but that wasn't a problem for me and my friends, it was an attraction! The rooms themselves are seperate from the main pub building, so probably would have been quiet enough- we didn't spend very long in there!

Room was very clean and spacious! Breakfast was traditional English and it was delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The owner talked extensively to us about what to do and see in the area. We grabbed a pint in the pub each night and there was some live music one night which was fun.

Bathroom was small for a four person room. It was clean and did the job but was very tight. No parking on site. There is a car park right down the street though so that was convenient. Wish the pub sold food!

Perfect location just off the Market Square right at the heart of Buxton. My room was spacious; modern; clean and warm ( I was there in Winter). It was also very quiet . Shower was excellent. Wi-Fi was super reliable . Breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly & helpful. This was way better than I expected for the price - so great value for money .

The only downside for me was parking. The hotel has no bespoke parking. You need your park in a council run car park on the Market Square which charges you from 8am till 1800 ( free parking after 1800) , so had to keep running out in the morning to get that daily ticket before the wardens patrolled. Warning too: apparently there is a market on Tuesdays and Saturdays - so you are not allowed to park there on those days - OR the evenings before market days - which is a bit inconvenient.

The bed was very large and comfortable, the room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were all polite and helpful. The room was separate from the pub, overlooking a courtyard at the back so it was possible to access the room from a side gate without having to go through the pub when it was busy at night.

The basin in the shower room was very small indeed so it was difficult to use without splashing, but that is a minor point and we managed. The shower was a good size.
