breakfast was great. location is a bit far from the train station. it's easier to walk from the train station to the hotel (down hill) but not with luggage. going the other way would be a bit difficult. I believe the bus comes every 20 mins. have a mental note the bus does go to the train station. the first day or two, we didn't know and got off early and walked up a hill. service was wonderful, we were able to even borrow a metal fork from the dining area for the day! the food at the restaurant was tasty along with the view by the waters i do believe some rooms don't have full access to the elevator so just confirm that with the hotel!

Nice view, spacious room. Bus stop and boat dock is just 5 min walk away, and so is the castle. Nice play area and lakeside walking promenade nearby. Very good restaurant with huge menu and availability till late hours.

Some of the F&B staff was quite cold and unresponsive, experience wasn’t great. Breakfast was limited and a bit disappointing. Room facilities in general are a bit outdated although still functional. Bus frequency to train station is hourly, and that’s the main alternative to the otherwise uphill walk to station.

We had the castle view, which isn't as good as the marina view but quieter. The restaurant setting was wonderful, looking at the marina boats, turquoise water, and mountains. The parking was convenient and the cleanest I've encountered/you could eat off the floor. The buffet breakfast was very good and kept fully supplied.

The decor could use a refresh. and the bathroom was very small with a slightly dangerous corner of the shower jutting into the room. The noise from the restaurant was a lot until 9pm when it shut. We were just jet-lagging so wanted to sleep earlier than that.

The hotel lobby and restaurant are nice and modern, and the food was truly excellent – the cordon bleu was absolutely mind-blowing. Our rooms were cleaned every day, which was appreciated.

The rooms were a bit dated and didn’t match the style of the ground floor, but maybe that’s the style for most accommodations. Not sure if it’s just winter, but there is only one bus that goes around town every hour, so it’s important to check the schedule. Otherwise, you’ll have to walk uphill to the station or take uber.

Wonderful sumptuous breakfast buffet. A beautiful location right on the harbor. A big, beautiful historic castle and chapel just across the road and sitting high above the hotel with gorgeous views of Lake Thun. Easy stroll to the dock to board a cruise on Lake Thun. Lovely room, kind and helpful staff, delicious dinner in the restaurant on site.

Our mistake - we walked from the train station all the way downhill to the hotel dragging our suitcases and backpacks and it was exhausting! Someone at the train station said it was a short easy walk so we didn't inquire about a bus or taxi. Come to find out there is a bus to and from the hotel every hour!

Very good location, near the swimming complex, the lake and the castle. The room cleaning was done efficiently and well. We once had an evening meal, and whilst the meal quality was average, the service personnel were friendly and efficient.

The breakfast was good enough, but lacking anything special, i.e.some bio. products or even products from the area, like cheese or jam. Personal touch missing! The croissants were poor. Although there was an area outside to sit, most guests chose to be inside and the allocated area was limited (it could have been made bigger or put in a different area), which meant that the atmosphere was somewhat frenetic and noisy. The personnel rushed around and looked stressed. A hotel breakfast should be more of an enjoyable experience. The receptionists we had dealings with ranged from being very friendly to actually being quite gruff and rude.

The front staff were outstanding. Juri and Sara were pleasant, efficient and accommodating in all aspects. truly exceptional. The room was absolutely spotless. I’ve never stayed anywhere where the windows were so clean. The fixtures in the bathroom were also spotless, despite the water which has high mineral content. All excellent!!!

It is a beautiful property located on the lake. Our room face the lake so every morning open the window was like living in book. They staff was amazing and so friendly. The beds where very comfortable and they were able to accommodate my two teenagers with me. In a room for 3 so this made our stay perfect. Lovely memories of this place. I’ll completely recommend it.

The location of the Hotel is picture perfect: on the lake, by the lovely marina, with the mountains in the back. The docking place of the boat/ferry that goes around the lake is a couple of minutes walking from the hotel. The castle is right behind the hotel. Small restaurants, cafés, playground, walking trails, mini-golf - all within short walking distance. There is also a lovely "toy-train" that goes around the village and up the hill to the main station, for a mere 3 euros; the children loved it! The hotel has a restaurant with a beautifully situated terrace on the lake, perfect for an evening dinner. It is all very quiet, very lovely, very clean and peaceful. The kids also have fun giving bits of bread to the ducks on the lake, bobbing between the sail boats. Loved our stay, could have happily stayed longer!

Inside the hotel is a bit dated, but it is also part of the charm. The rooms with front view to the lake are quite expensive, so we had a back view to the castle (with side view to mountain and tiny bit of marina), which was ok, but at times a bit noisy from the parking place just bellow our balcony.

Definitely my favorite hotel during the whole vacation in Switzerland!! The facilities in the room are so great and the restaurant in the hotel is amazing. Also, the hotel’s environment is so beautiful. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I travel to Spiez, and I just don’t want to leave this hotel.
