The property was well situated to get around town . If you wanted to go further afield bikes could be hired easily and cheaply, hourly, daily or weekly. The room was large, with doors opening out onto a balcony. The bathroom was spotless with a good shower. The bed was a large double, firm and comfortable with crisp white linen. The breakfast offered a good selection of savoury and sweet treats with great coffee and a lovely tea pot for my lemon tea. Elena and Rebecca were friendly and chatty and could not be more helpful. There isnt anything negative to say about this property. We will definitely stay there again.

Wonderful staff. Interesting building with a lot of history ! Room and bathroom spacious and clean . The hotel decoration is very interesting as you feel in a true castle. Great parking .

The restaurant decoration, atmosphere and food not for a 4 star hotel . Poor quality and expensive. Same experience with the breakfast. The neighborhood not nice if you would like to walk. As soon as you leave the property there is a high speed route so very dangerous and not nice . The swimming pool was closed and what I could see not modern . The building is really deteriorated outside and needs maintenance. It’s a pity as it is a beautiful property and nice garden . Be careful with taxi service ! I was charged doubled price the first time , second time it was fair price so my advice is to ask the rate at the moment of making a reservation.

The hotel is really close to Lucca. It is a great and quiet location. You can enjoy the facilities of the hotel while you are close to one of the most beautiful towns in Italy (5 min by car). The hotel is very well decorated and you can stay in a confortable room (bigger than usually). I recommend specially for families with kids .The staff is kind and they help any time you need. Breakfast includes all you can need (eggs, bacon, all types of breads, all type of juices, cakes, croassants, yogurts, mortadela, salami, and a long etc…). It includes any type of coffe that you like. I really enjoy the days at the hotel and for sure, I will come back!!!

It is all perfect…

We absolutely loved our stay, and wished we had stayed longer. Very charming ancient villa, so much character. Comfortable beds, whisper quiet at night, delicious breakfast outside in the garden, and the dinner we had there was our best so far in Italy! The pool was gorgeous, with shade and a bar!! About a 5 minute drive from Lucca, definitely not a walk, and so nice to be away from the crowds, with a pool in summer. Heavenly.

We stayed 1 night in Lucca & we already came late. The location is good. All the staff speaks english. The breakfast is exceptional.

The flooring & the wall need to be upgraded. The flooring is still using carpet & it smells old carpet although we have opened the window. The wall-paper is too busy, I didn’t know if there was a refrigerator behind that wall.

Staff was very friendly, especially Serena. Picturesque grounds.

Hadn't realized how challenging it would be to get taxis (that's on me). Two nights in a row we were kept up until near sunrise by a loud group drunkenly partying in the lobby. To the staffs' credit, they shut it down as soon as we complained, but we shouldn't have had to go down to the lobby at 4am to complain in the first place.

The places was very impressive. Reception was really helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and we really liked how late it ran till. The swimming pool area was lovely.

At the end of the stay there was confusion with our extras bill as a number of drinks had been added to our room by mistake. The staff were very good about this and there was no fuss and everything got sorted.

Excellent location just outside Lucca, although hire car is needed. Staff were great, very helpful and pleasant. Lovely restaurant food for breakfast & dinner. Pool very nice too.

The hotel and rooms were very clean but traditional in their decor. If you want modern chic this hotel may not be for you.

This is an amazing place to stay; beautiful with great character and history. It was super comfortable with all the modern extras (air con) that made the stay in hot weather easy and relaxing. We loved the pool and the little kiosk with drinks and light snacks as well as complimentary towels. The staff was excellent; professional, attentive and always keen to help. We dined at the property most evening and lunch and we thought the food was great.

We liked everything.

We rented a car to easily get to the property and sight see. We wanted something in the countryside that was historical and this place did not disappoint. It’s beautiful inside and out. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. Having your own A/C in the room was wonderful. I had asked them to leave a happy birthday note for our daughter, instead they left a small wrapped present wishing her a happy birthday! We loved exploring the grounds and main rooms. The restaurant they have at the hotel was absolutely delicious. The staff was very polite and friendly.
