The hotel, food and grounds were beautiful but what really made our holiday special was the staff. Everyone made us feel so at home and made a real effort to befriend our kids, which really helped us relax as we were worried that the hotel wouldn’t be child friendly (our kids are 3 and 1 years old) Such an amazing stay, we’ll definitely come back, thanks.

We spent a week at Villa San Michele. Our room was great with a balcony and spacious bathroom. Lots of storage and a mini fridge. Quiet location and superb 25m swimming pool. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. We had a couple of lunches which were delicious. We chose not to dine as preferred to go into Lucca. 10 minutes by car/ taxi to Lucca.

A small criticism but there was only one reception area, which included reception and the bar. As a result there was nowhere really to have a drink in the evening. A separate small reception room for the bar or relaxing would have been perfect Also swimming pool towels were the same colour as room towels.

The hotel was beautifuland clean and staff very welcomg and helpful. The evening meal we had was delicious!

We were surprised and disappointed not to have tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel room. Neither was there access to tea or coffee in the breakfast area so we had to ask a member of staff for a second drink at breakfast. There were limited TV channels available which wasn't ideal for our 14 year old. Netflix access would have been great! The location was a few miles out of town and so buses or taxis were required to get in to Lucca. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and given the remote location, this could be a problem (but wasn't for us).

Myself and my husband stayed here with both of our families the week before our wedding in Lucca, the staff were so helpful made everything easy for us. The facilities are top quality, we made the most of the hotel, relaxing in the sun by the gorgeous pool. The hotel has tennis courts and the hotel lent us rackets to play a few times. The food in the restaurant was very good, we had lunch here most days and we stayed for dinner one evening too. Just a 10/15 minute drive into Lucca by car, we used taxis some nights when we went in for dinner which the hotel were able to arrange for us on request. Our room was a goo sized and was always perfectly cleaned each day and beds were comfortable. Would really recommend this hotel for a stay in Lucca, already looking forward to returning!

It was so peaceful and set in the Tuscany hillside. Need a car to reach it but if you are fit and healthy there are places walking distance and taxis that will take you up into the mountains.

Loved it all. Food was delicious. Breakfast as much as you can eat. The swimming pool is perfect, warm and deep enough to swim but also walkable everywhere. At 30+ degrees the pool was perfectly refreshing. Plenty of sun beds with umbrellas. Need to buy water as cannot drink the water. Best to buy at supermarket. Fridge in bedroom but not coffee and tea facilities. Get used to drinking water.

A stunning property which is exceptionally well maintained. Our room - Deluxe ensuite - was very spacious, immaculate and had absolutely everything we needed (note, don't open the window for too long, bugs get in!). The hotel itself is beautiful and exactly as describled by words and photos on the Booking.com website. Breakfast was included and there was a wonderful variety of fresh produce every day - the cappuccino was the best we have ever had with a hotel breakfast. The waiting staff were (particularly Edwardo, Sammy & the dark-haired lady at breakfast) excellent too. Check-in and out was a very simple process. The pool is stunning and in a wonderful environment - unfortunately with an October stay & thunderstorms the experience was short-lived as the mosquitos were plentiful and hungry. The foyer was a wonderful place to sit and absorb the atmosphere and the bar is there also. There were bikes and vespa's available for hire but you would need to be a confident user to hire them on Italian roads.

The tv did not have any channels other than Italian channels. We thought at least one English speaking channel might have been available. You definitely need a car as access is not possible by bus, only car and taxi.

Lovely period property with a spacious family room that was tastefully decorated. Scenic location with olive trees in the grounds and a beautiful pool. Good air con, which was appreciated on warm days.

Our room backed onto the main reception area and staff storage room and it was a bit noisy at times. The shower was powerful which was great but leaked onto the floor. Just a minor issue but something colleagues might want to have a look at.

The villa was really beautiful, everything from the rooms to the outside garden with the pool. It was very clean and even with the more classic style furniture that added the extra charm, it felt very modern and fresh. The pool area was very nice and well taken care of. The location is great too, a bit outside Lucca, but easy enough to get around with the Taxi if you don't have a car as well. The staff were very friendly as well and made us feel welcome.

This hotel is absolutely perfect. It has true traditional Tuscan charm, combined with some modern twists like the beautiful glass dining area and pool surrounded by Olive trees and stunning views. The food in the restaurant is exceptional as are all the staff, who are so friendly and attentive. Myself and Mum LOVED every minute of our stay

Their breakfast buffet and service was delightful. We loved the various coffee drinks and variety of foods. The staff treats everyone warmly any time you are in the common areas. The pool is fantastic and the entire property really peaceful. It is a little out of the way for exploring Lucca easily during the evenings, but otherwise set up well for the location in Tuscany to visit various places with a car.
