Luca, "The One Man Band" does a great job in Villa San Donato. He picks you up from the railway station and brings you back there. He serves you tasteful and complete breakfast from the "smallest breakfast buffet in the world", didn't miss a thing. My room was always clean and cosy. For once there were enough outlets for your phone(s), maps, e-bike battery etc.! You could close your little safety deposit box either digitally or with a normal key. Small things but they mean a lot. The villa had also a small and nice garden, where you could rest after a busy day of beeing a tourist. Keep up the good work Luca and sister!

We loved everything about this B&B from start to finish. It's location, which is just outside the city walls was perfect for us and only a 5 min walk into Luca itself. The building and gardens were beautifully kept. The breakfast was delicious and served either in the garden or in the small breakfast room. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was large and comfortable but the main asset to this property is Luca the owner/manager. He was absolutely fantastic and the perfect host. He is the life and soul of this property and you can see he takes great pride in what he does. He collected us from the train station, gave us useful information about the area, served our breakfast every morning and was always on hand to answer any questions. We were sad to have to say goodbye and very much hope to stay with him again. Do not hesitate to stay here - You will not regret it! Thank you Luca

Nothing - It was perfect!

I loved everything from the beginning to the end of our stay. The place was beautiful ,very clean, and comfortable. We chose to have breakfast included, and it was amazing and complete with cold cuts, fruits, yogurt as well as the best cappuccino I had in Italy, and we sat in the beautiful garden outside to enjoy it. The host Luca was incredibly helpful. He gave us a map of the city and explained to us how to get around. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a wonderful one, and the place and host exceeded our expectations. Villa San Donato was the best place we stayed on our Italian tour.

We had the most delightful stay at this charming hotel in Lucca! Luca, the host, offered attentive service and fantastic recommendations for things to do around town. The hotel itself is special—there’s a unique charm that makes you feel right at home. Our room was spacious, clean, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast each morning was amazing, with a great variety of options that catered to every taste. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the heart of Lucca, making it easy to explore all the sights while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. And there‘s free parking, which we found a great asset.

We had a great week at this property, it's in an excellent location for Lucca town centre (5 min walk away), but also if you want to explore further via train (20 min walk) or car. The host Luca was also great and very helpful for any requests we had. Pharmacy nearby, a few restaurants also close if you don't want to venture into the walled city. Also there are only 7/8 rooms so you receive a bit more of a personal service. 20min drive from Pisa airport.

The softness of the bed was not to our liking but Luca fixed this and there was a bit of minor noise from the shower next door otherwise it was very quiet. Driving into the car park is tight so hire a small car.

The property was very secure and had parking just outside the house. Our room was comfortable and well stocked with small essentials which were very much appreciated after traveling for 10 days already. The small details like tissues in the bathroom and by the bed and water made it perfect. The breakfast had anything you desired and helped fuel us for a full day in Lucca. The grounds are beautiful with all the landscaping perfectly kept. I wish I could have stayed longer, Luca was a perfect host and made everything easy for us. Thank you for sharing this beautiful city with us.

Room is small but that’s to be expected. Only had room for a full size bed but this is not a deal breaker for us.

The villa is very charming, conveniently located, and comfortable. Perfect for exploring Lucca. Luca is a fantastic host as well. He goes above and beyond for his guests, including providing a map and a list of restaurants and explaining the town’s layout and highlights. He also picked us up from the train station, and kindly helped us out in a pinch when we found out my son had left his backpack at the villa after we arrived at the train station. We loved everything about our stay and would highly recommend Lica’s B&B

i would love to give more Stars for this...we loved our stay in Luca's Villa. It's a beautiful and special place...all decorated and furnished with love and sense for a really good style, which reminds you of the time of the 1920s...but it doesnt look old though...it comes across modern in a different way and clean anyway. Luca and the staff are so Kind, the room was clean and especially it was wonderful decorated...the breakfast was very good too, Luca tries to give you everything you want and helps you with any Kind of question. the location is perfect too, you walk 5 Minutes to the wall and the historic Center. So i can only highly recommend this place...Grazie Luca.

We strongly recommend staying here if you are ever in Lucca. Our host, Luca, was exceptional. His warm welcome, friendliness, and helpful nature really made the stay special. The attention to detail was impeccable - candles lit each night, lovely scent throughout the property, bug spray put out in the garden each day - just to name a few! There was secure parking that was free and easy to access. The breakfast served each morning (in the garden) was perfect and lots of coffee options were great as well! Wonderful room with a nice view and modern bathroom. Fully stocked mini fridge and an aircon for the hot summer nights. Finally - the room was absolutely spotless. Couldn't even find a speck of dust anywhere! WE WILL BE BACK!

Luca was so friendly and welcoming. On our first day Luca had personal recommendations of what to see and where to eat and drink, all of which were fantastic. The room was of a great standard throughout and we also had access to our own balcony where we could relax and enjoy a drink and the sunset. Breakfast each morning was intimate with Luca personalising our choice of fresh pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits and more. Highly recommended and we will be back. Ciao!
