Tucked away from the crush of tourist traffic yet so close really. Giacomo was brilliant in hosting us and Guiamme (his trusty shepherd) was a joy to befriend with frequent pats. The courtyard area was a delightful retreat to recover from many walks in and around the city. Breakfasts were very good as a traditional Italian fare and very enjoyable. If you plan ahead you can use the local community style buses to get within 200m instead of "bag-dragging" from the central station - the nearby bus terminal is about 3 minutes walk. A delightful stay with charm and amenity, the layout was traditional and relaxing.

The 32 steps from the street level were a small price to pay for the sanctuary above.

Such a quaint place and wonderful experience! The photos do not capture the charm and character this B&B offers! (It was refreshing to stay at an old school, true B&B-Bed & Breakfast-not an Airbnb.) The location was superb (in the City Center) and walkable to everything within the city walls. The room was good size, very comfortable for 2 people. The terrace was cozy and a great place to unwind at the end of the day. The breakfast had a great assortment of items to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would gladly stay here again. Note: as with much of Europe, there are 2 flights of stairs to get to the B&B. It was not a problem for us, but could be for others. (Perhaps there is an elevator? Not sure.)

The location and facilities. Don't be put off by the communal lobby where residents of other parts of the property keep their bikes or by the steps which lead to the B&B's front door. Once inside you'll find a lovely reception / breakfast area which is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Our room overlooked an enclosed courtyard. It was clean, extremely quiet and there we enjoyed oeaceful nights of uninterrupted sleep. Lucca is a walled city and Corte Toro is inside the walls within easy walking distance of its many attractions.

Very friendly lady welcomed us and looked after us throughout our stay. Good size room that was well appointed. Very good bathroom with excellent shower. Very nice continental breakfast beautifully set out in the breakfast room. A very pleasant outdoor terrace for guests to use. Beer and wine available at reasonable prices. A well run b&b in an excellent town centre location. We traveled by train and it was about 10-15 minute walk from the station.

Guests need to be aware that the b&b is up two steep flights of stairs that you have to carry your luggage up. This is a minor point and did not detract from a very pleasant stay.

Extremely comfortable B & B . Only a couple of minutes walk to Puccini Museum and the main centre of Lucca. The breakfast of fresh fruit (home grown blackberries), cereals , pastries and awesome coffee was provided with a smile and a chat from the owner Giacomo. Highly recommend a stay at this lovely B & B and a very quiet Lucca (compared to mad Rome). The shared large outside patio was great for a drink in the cool after a hot summer's day We greatly appreciated that Giacomo gave us a lift to train station Can not thank him enough !!! and got the train on time !!

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Room was exceptionally clean and very spacious. A delighted roof terrace with pots of fragrant herbs and oleanders in full bloom was available for guests. Giacomo very kindly heiped me out with a last minute booking. The B and B is close to Villa Mansi, San Michele and the main shopping streets. Everything is walkable from here including the station.

Breakfast starting at 8.30 was a bit late for me. Would have preferred 7.30. There was no kettle in the room but there was one available for guest use in the dining room along with coffee and teabags.No for fridge in the room. My only complaint about the location was that it was hard to find initially.

The B&B is nice, quiet, yet centrally located in Lucca. Upon arrival I was greeted by host Giacomo and his lovely dog Guillermo. I was shown around the property and to my room. Giacomo also gave me tips and info about the area for exploring and dining. The feel and the decor of the room and the B&B was so lovely and charming. Very comfortable and clean! The breakfast room has beautiful doors that open onto a balcony. What a perfect way to start the day. I will recommend this B&B and will stay again should I visit Lucca another time.

The B&B was clean and my room was ready ahead of check in so I was able to drop my luggage before going to find lunch and explore Lucca. The room was larger than expected and the bathroom was lovely and bright. The bed was comfortable and it had everything you need. There is a nice communal balcony just down the hall where I was able to relax and read my book before dinner. It is a smaller property so it was very quiet and the host was amazing with recommendations for lunch and dinner. The location is close to everything in Lucca.

Heads up as there isn’t a lift- you will have to carry your luggage to the first floor.

Beautiful and clean. Giacomo provided a comfortable and safe space for our stay. The room was classic and comfortable with access to an outside terrace, quiet and luxurious, providing a true expression of Lucca’s beauty. Corte Toro is an excellent location for exploring Lucca. Our room was simply lovely - spacious, beautifully decorated with excellent bathroom facilities. The shuttered windows opened to an inner courtyard, and provided gorgeous light. Air conditioning was available as well as good heat. The rooftop terrace is cozy and a place of quiet to sit. Breakfast was good with fresh croissants and local honey. We rented the bikes that were available and enjoyed a full day of riding. Giacomo was a communicative and delightful host. I would recommend Corte Toro to family and friends and stay again on our next trip to Italy. Thank you for the hospitality!
