I had a fantastic stay at this charming and historic hotel. The building itself is full of character and perfectly located right in the heart of the old city, making it easy to explore everything on foot. The host, Claudio was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and overall, the stay was excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

A bit hard to find and not easy to access with luggage - noisy street at night but can’t help that when you are staying in centre of old city

We really enjoyed our stay at Al Tuscany - mostly due to the excellent service and friendliness of our host Claudio. We made a very late, last minute booking and he was immediately in contact via Whatsapp with instructions. He further helped with bike rentals and excellent restaurant recommendations. We decided to stay an extra night! Great location for access to all touristy things in Lucca. The suite was a great choice for our family with a large bed for the adults and the kids shared a double bed. Claudio very kindly brought me some gluten free muffins after I had stated on the booking form I would prefer a gluten free option for breakfast if possible. Highly recommend.

We found we couldn't open the main door from the street with the key provided but we could call to be let inside the building.

Breakfasts were very good, rooms were quiet and had plenty of space with very good bathrooms. The staff gave us better rooms than we had booked so that one of our party needn’t use steps to the attic room. We were offered a take away breakfast as we were leaving early.

I prefer bottled water not from the tap on the breakfast table. The fridge in my room was noisy but the owner switched off as soon as I asked. The lighting was too low for old eyes.

It's located in a very convenient street, a short walk from the Duomo and Puccini's Casa-Museo. I loved the breakfast room with its frescos and the general ambiance. It felt like living a beautiful past and it helped me feel inside the fable of Giacomo Puccini's genious.

Being in the centre means that, at night, specially Saturday, there were noises outside from people enjoying nightlife.

We highly recommend this place! It’s located right in the heart of Lucca’s historic center, with amazing views from the rooms. On top of that, the owner is incredibly kind—he prepares breakfast himself and is always happy to help with anything you might want to know or do in Lucca. We were very satisfied with our stay!

Very friendly owner and staff, very good breakfast, our huge room overlooking the old town including 3 of the beautiful Lucca towers was just awesome! Bathroom is very good, too, new shower and good lighting. We will be back if in Lucca👌😃!

I liked the location and the look of the hotel. Very Italian. I had a little charming room in the attic. It was close to where I wanted to be in the city too.

The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom. I am a taller person and it was very cramped in the bathroom. The roofline sloped in there and I had to duck down any time I was in the bathroom. Shower stall was very crowded for me as well

Location is central, property has real history with parts visible on ground floor dating to the 12th century. The loft room we had, had low ceilings with exposed beams adding to the charm of the property. Being 6 ft did not bother me at the least, I would definitely stay again!

The floors, could use a little maintenance for the locks of the rooms, if they do not clise well they leave you trapped in the rooms.

The old house, Claudio's hospitality, the charm of the Old Town, the gastronomy, restaurants and pedalling round the old walls and the breakfast was prepared according to needs round one big table.

The rain was torrential on one day, rained on and off the next.
