Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Excellent breakfast choices and very helpful staff. We were also able to store our luggage for free at the hotel when we arrived early and also on the day of check-out when we decided to take a quick day-trip to Pisa. The location is ideal - inside the historical center, very close to the walls of Lucca where you can enjoy a peaceful walk on the promenade, and an easy walking distance to all sights of Lucca. We stayed in the triple room - a very spacious unit with a double bed in one room and a single bed in another room which is part of the same triple room unit. The AC was not very effective in the room with the double bed but since we were staying for only one night, we didn't bring it up. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The first warm welcome from Fabrizio who owns the hotel, giving me a cup of coffee and getting my room ready within 15 minutes even though I had arrived at 11.30am told me what a nice place this was going to be. My room was warm and comfortable with a spacious, very clean bathroom and lovely hot shower. A kettle was provided on request as I like my early morning cup of tea, along with some cold milk to go in my mini fridge. Nico who works in the afternoons until reception shuts at 8pm was so helpful and friendly, suggesting a restaurant for supper as the one I had chosen was full. Breakfast in the mornings was an excellent buffet with coffee to order, fresh orange juice and the usual array of goodies. A very good start to many hours of wandering around the city. I would absolutely recommend the hotel, it's in a great location and I can't think of anything more I might have needed during my stay in Lucca. Thank you all and I hope to visit again one day.

We had an amazing experience at Albergo San Martino! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location was perfect – very convenient and close to everything we needed. The rooms had a unique, bohemian charm to them (La Dogana&Nuccia), offering a cozy and special atmosphere that made our stay even more memorable. The breakfast was exceptional, just like the pictures, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay – highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and charming getaway!

Managing team was helpful and friendly, the room was clean and renovated recently. The location was charming and close to all attractions.

Area around the hotel was extremely noisy at night, people were talking loud and playing music outside every night. When we called the front desk, they said they would take care of it but nobody showed up for another 2 hours. During this time they stopped answering the phone as well. The room was advertised as having air Conditioner but when we asked, they said it was off for the season while we could see that the room had its own unit with no way to turn it on. The next day which was our last day a remote for the unit was placed in the room.

Albergo San Martino was so cute and cozy - staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was adorable. The breakfast included was fantastic and a great, relaxed way to start the day. Eeach room had a name and a local told us it used to be the old brothel so we wonder if the names were kept as a nod to that!

The mattress was quite hard but slept well regardless. The eco friendly shampoos and soap pods were a good idea in theory but proved very difficult to use in actuality.

Fantastic warm welcome in lovely reception area with welcome snacks and drinks. Ability to leave luggage after checkout until you're ready to leave. Great and friendly staff who helped us upstairs with our luggage. Large room, great bathroom and shower. Perfect, quiet location within walking distance of station but inside walls. Lovely old building.

Ideal place to stay for a couple of nights to explore Lucca. We had a lovely little suite with a small twin room for the kids, a large double for us and a bathroom between the two. Everything clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast which we enjoyed on the little terrace outside the hotel. Location couldn't be better. I marked down slightly for price but I suspect it was very competitive for the time of year and also with major concerts going on for the summer festival, so perhaps not entirely fair of me. Highly recommend.

The staff were all fantastic, very friendly and helpful, especially Alesia and Nicole. We enjoyed the choices at breakfast and having a glass of wine in the garden before dinner. Even though we were staying in the annex, the room was perfect. We received very good recommendations for dinner from Nicolo too. The location of the Albergo was perfect for exploring the city as well as attending the Puccini concert.

ASM is in a great position to visit Lucca, it is just inside the wall and set back from the streets. We stayed in the annex which was nice, the only downside for us was that our room was next to the entrance door and it appeared to me that most people just let the door slam which caused a massive noise and vibration in our room, which can be jolly annoying at 2am. But apart from that gripe, the staff were great, the breakfast was fine, with a fair choice of food. The hotel was also a nice place to have a early evening drink as you could sit outside in a shady area.

The only downside was that front door (suggestion: how about a sign asking visitors to show some consideration?).

The staff, especially Claudia, was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was incredible, the room was pretty big and quiet (but you could hear hallway noise) with a small fridge, tv and sitting couch, and the location just inside the walls was perfect. We also appreciated the dedicated parking spot in their lot. We were also grateful they were dog friendly as we always bring ours.

The whole place was amazing but the bed was a bit hard for me and I would have liked a few more pillows on the bed (there were only 2).
