Nice guest house/small hotel, very close to the train station and the city center and is perfect for a solo traveller like myself. My room was the right size, I had a single bed, but it didn't feel small, my TV worked (although the angle was a bit ackward).. All facilities in good working order, clean towels, comfy bed, soaps and shampoos in the bathroom... I had a quite night and a good quality sleep. As an extra benefit - breakfast in the morning with some local delicatessen.. Staff is attentive, good communication overall... I stayed 2 nights and my room was cleaned after my first night, which took me by surprise! It was a great value for money for the quality of service I received. P.S. Check out the amazing pizzeria across the road!

well maintained family run hotel. very friendly and super helpful hosts. rooms very clean and nice breakfast. well situated just outside city walls for exploring Lucca. would definitely recommend, and would use again.

mentioning for future guests - there are no lifts; also, to reach nearby station and city gate to Lucca, you cross a rail footbridge with many steps. no problem for most, but you have limited mobility, or poor fitness, and heavy luggage, might not be for you

The perfect, private stay in Lucca. Less than a five minute walk to the train station and old town on a very quiet and safe street. Staff were so friendly and treated you like family. I honestly don't know why this property is only two stars it was clean, comfortable, well maintained, spacious, everything you could want at a very reasonable price...it should be at least a three star property. Loved my time here and would definitely come back.

Excellent location outside the walls of Lucca and behind the train station. Easy to to walk into the walled city. HINT: to reach hotel, exit the REAR of the station using the steps or the ramp. Turn right onto the red bicycle and pedestrian track. The street you are on is via Lorenzo Nottolini. It curves to the right, so stay on it for about about 200 meters..The cross and turn right onto via Vincenzo Civitali. I discourage exiting via the front of the station because you will have to carry your luggage up the overpass that crosses over the railroad tracks. The overpass is circled in blue on the photo. Nice room, good AC and TV. Simple breakfast: yogurt, small sandwiches of meat and cheese, fruit, juices, pastries, bread. STEFANO makes the best espresso!

Fantastic communication from the moment we booked (which was last minute). We arrived and were greeted by a lovely lady on reception. Super friendly and highlighted the places we should visit. Room was super clean and breakfast was a lovely selection of various foods. Location is perfect. Outside of the walls but a quick walk and you’re inside them.

Very nice location that's only a five minute walk from the southern gate to the old town. The bathroom is a little small and feels cramped when showering, but other than that, I was happy with the room. The host was friendly. We mentioned to him that we were vegan, and he bought some vegan croissants and made us cappuccino with plant milk for breakfast.

Everything! Very well appointed rooms, bright and spacious. Excellent location beside train station and very close to Lucca walls. Lovely friendly hosts. Good breakfast. Nice atmosphere.

Nothing, I loved everything. However may not suit anyone with mobility difficulties as no lift, and you climb up steps to cross train tracks on way to Lucca. Not a problem for most people.

You have to be fit to access the steps from the other side of the railway, but the train noise was minimal. The safe in our room probably needed new batteries.

The location was ideal: a very short walk from the train station and from the city's historic heart, so an ideal base for day-trips and for visiting Lucca. Breakfast was abundant and varied, with different options for freshly made coffee. The room was surprisingly spacious with a high ceiling and, important for this traveller, cool given the perfectly functioning air conditioning.

We really recommend this place and host. Location was perfect for our needs, as we were arriving and leaving by train. At breakfast you have the choice to have a real capuccino if you prefer, and what was offered was enough, we do not eat big breakfasts anyway. The room was simple but clean, bed comfortable, there were two nice warm blankets in the wardrobe to use, which we did, but the option to have the heating on is there for you, if you wish. We slept very well and we didn't hear any noise at night, neither from the hotel or from outside. There is no lift in this little hotel, but this wasn't a problem for us. They recommended a place to buy wine where we ended up having lunch too, place that is a little gem and was a great recommendation!. We went back to pick up the luggage from reception before the train. We enjoyed our stay, and we hope to visit again soon.
