Although the hotel is quite old, but it provides the old-day charm of Japan. Cosy lobby, taxi queuing waiting for customers outside the hotel, free water and amenities for customers, abandon and sumptuous breakfast, dinner venue 60m above ground to view the Nagoya city and Castle etc.

The hotel room is exactly like you'd expect with all the amenities in place and comfortable beds. The extra cherry on top were the very friendly staff. Additional amenities were placed in lift halls for travelers who'd like them.

The first room we were given was clear that someone was smoking in it, though it was a non-smoking room. Fortunately, the staff were helpful and quick to give us another room.

Free parking. large area for stopping my car in front of the hotel entrance for dropping and picking up my family and luggage. close to city centre. room is spacious (compare to typical budget hotel in Japan).

Very clean and neat, not the newest hotel but small upgrades like on-wall USB charging ports makes it comfortable to live in. Also close to hamamatsu castle, very convenient to have a casual walk there.

Not major flaws for me, just that not every staff speaks English, but I always think that's a part of travel so I have no complain about it.

We would have liked a location closer to the train station and shopping area.

A sixties/seventies time capsule. Immaculately preserved. Good location, very clean, helpful staff. Definitely recommend.
