Staff was amazing. Henry helped us to plan the rest of our trip and Mario introduced us to some iguanas. Great views. Good breakfast. Screened porches with hammocks and a river view.

The room had openings around the ac unit where critters could get in. We didn’t have any problems with mosquitos, but we would have preferred a better deal. The property is only reachable by boat. The staff were very responsive, so it wasn’t an issue, but if you want to go back and forth often, it’s something to consider.

The cabin was large with 2 beds, a microwave, a refrigerator, a sink & dishes. It was located right on a river (with crocodiles) and when I opened the front door of my cabin in the afternoon, iguanas scattered in all directions. The nature is beautiful. Belize City has a reputation of not being safe, but River Bend Resort is only a mile from the international airport and it is necessary to take a boat to reach it ... that makes it safe. It is a 15 minute walk to a large grocery store. The staff is friendly and helpful. Internet was excellent. If I go back, I will stay here again.

There is no restaurant on the premises and the resort is on the wrong side of the river to find a place to eat. The staff will have food delivered for you, but that is quite expensive. If you take a taxi to Belize City, it will cost USD $30. (If you are willing to walk 15 minutes, you can take the Ladyville bus for US$ 1.15!) A taxi to/from the airport costs USD$ 10. I think it is worth it for pickup, but it only took 20 or 25 minutes to walk there when I left. You need to call the resort from the other side of the river to get to it. They have a sign with the phone number, but it does not show the country code. If, like me, you use WhatsApp, make sure to note that the country code is +501. The breakfast was mediocre, but it satisfied my hunger.

The location on the bank of the river is really nice! The 30sec boat trip to cross the river is fun. The environment is lush with coconut trees and a cute path to lead to your room. The cabanas are spacious and each has a different painting color on the outside which is really cute. They all have a screened porch facing the river with a hammock and few chairs. It was lovely to see the sunset from the porch while playing card games with our kids. Our room was well equipped with a stove, fridge and microwave. AC was welcome (it is loud but that doesn't bother us). Night was quiet and we slept well. Loved being woken up by the sounds of animals (roosters, birds...)

It is not top luxury but that wasn't what we were looking for. The spring mattresses were not the best but they were good enough for us (and I am not an easy sleeper). It is so close to the airport that you see and hear the planes taking off but nothing after about 7pm.

Communication was nearly Instant. While I initially used Booking msg and Email as well - WhatsApp direct to phone number was most responsive. The Shuttle got to the Airport faster than their Reply! Ben (Driver and Groundskeeper) was superbly accommodating and Reina took over on arrival. Yes, it seems a bit like "Summer Camp" with separate Bungalow's - but very large and quiet. The Recreation room is a nice place to hang out, eat dinner, watch a little TV and just chill. While the Location may seem a little 'weird' (Pontoon boat across the River) you can't get any closer to the Airport for Free. Once I was settled (and after a Nap), I was taken to a nearby Take-out for dinner - and I highly recommend anything Ben suggests...the Chinese was far better than anticipated.

While 'dated' - and definitely 'Summercamp Bunglow' feeling - I really enjoyed my short visit.

Kevin and Janelle were fabulous hosts. The location is super handy to the airport and an adventure to the accommodation on a pontoon across the river. They arranged pick up and drop off in a timely manner and the cabanas are rustic and funky. They even had some dinner options available there so you could chill by the river without going anywhere.

We had planned to go on a river cruise, but the boat was having a few issues so it was better to play it safe and not do a boat cruise until the mechanic had looked it over..

Perfect for an overnight stay next to the airport (BZE). They arranged flawless airport pick up for both me and my brother even though we arrived at different times. The airport pick up (even multiple arrival times) and drop off is free, and the resort is located 2 min away by car, which is super convenient. There is also a 1 minute boat ride across the river to the actual resort, all coordinated by the staff. Note though that you will need be driven out for dinner or to the city, and cost is between $15-$30 USD roundtrip. This is somewhat pricey, but still convenient as it’s all arranged by the resort staff. Also worth noting the staff are unbelievably kind and welcoming!! Facilities themselves aren’t new, but definitely decent enough. If you’re looking for a convenient stay next to the airport, look no further!

Lovely location next to the river and great location close to the airport. A big room with kitchen. Good wifi. Peaceful and safe place to stay. Good breakfast, it´s a small buffet with bread with spreads, eggs, fruits, coffee and corn flakes. Staff is very nice and they have three lovely dogs.

AC is quite noisy. The taxi dropped me on the other side of the river and getting to the other side is not possible if someone is not picking you up by a boat. There was a telephone number, but it´s very expensive to call from a foreign phone. Luckily there was some people living and I asked them help and they called behalf of me. Also later when I needed dinner and a visit to grocery store, I had to ask someone to take me there and it costs 5 USD. I think price to the airport was quite expensive 10 USD, it´s just on the other side of the river.

Ben was incredible! He (and 2 other young travelers were the only people I met while there) but he was incredibly accommodating and would drop everything, when I asked him to do something! I asked him to take me to the airport, hours earlier than originally planned and he immediately got the boat, took all my luggage (and I don’t travel light!) and took me to the other side, where he had transfer everything to the van. He got me to the airport before my airline even opened. This was perfect! Thank you for all of your time and hard work! You made my stay!

The property is in the river and right in the jungle (despite being very close to the airport) and should have thought about what this would mean before I booked it. I turned the air conditioner off because it had gotten cold and heard all of the jungle sounds. Unfortunately, I scared myself and couldn’t sleep and didn’t feel comfortable walking outside the cabana, even when the sun came up. So, instead of just looking for a place close to the airport, I should probably have considered what I was getting myself into before booking. The island is small and walking/hiking space is limited.

The night manager was amazing. We arrive late and it was pouring rain and we were all tired and hungry. He got us across the river, quickly got our room, arranged for our dinner delivery and opened the bar for us to buy beverages. He helped us deal with the unexpected rain and got us to the airport on time the next morning.

It’s a bit rustic, but the price was right and it suited our purpose.

We loved the location and truly felt like we were in the jungle of Belize. Before we even got there, Ashlee helped us secure the tour we wanted to take with the possible flexibility we needed. The service from Mario was beyond excellent during our stay and we enjoyed the main room with darts and pool. I would highly recommend the sunset river cruise. It was the perfect end to our travel day.

There was some litter lying around (discarded soda and water bottles) that could have been cleaned up but other than that it was a pretty awesome stay.
