Alpenhotel Schlüssel is in a perfect location in the center of Andermatt. It's about halfway between the tram at Gemsstock Glacier and the Gütschbahn tram that takes you to the rest of the Andermatt ski area. Less than a 10min walk to anywhere in town. Free parking is great, because you won't need your car in Andermatt! The room was spacious and well equipped, and the staff was friendly and helpful, giving us the lay of the land and recommending restaurants and shops to visit. The skiraum features a boot drying rack and shelves for other equipment. Great place to stay for a ski vacation!

Decent room and bathroom with great view. Great location and host. Quick access to ski lifts, rental shops, restaurants.

There is a club in the basement that kept us awake all night on Sunday until 4am - we could not sleep from the noise and it ruined our entire day. We could hear it even on the third floor - the bass was too loud. Not sure if this was a one time thing or if it happens every weekend. Breakfast - Breakfast could have more options (e.g. more types of eggs) and coffee quality could be improved - just using a better coffee machine and higher quality coffee as well as offering filter coffee. Bathroom - the bath was clogged and would not drain fast enough - it needed better cleaning.

The location, in a middle of everything, so close to everything. The coop supermarket is in the same building, so you can buy stuffs wearing t shirts! Thomas, the owner, he’s so nice! The room is super spacious and what a view! And you can park (and charge your car if you need) in a garage, so you don’t have to worries about the snow in your car, only be grateful for big amounts of snow! We’ll definitely comeback to Alpenhotel! And I can’t forget to mention, breakfast is really great, delicious…

Great breakfast, great location, helpful stay

Not much snow this year

Small family hotel in the centre of Andermatt, stylish, rooms surprisingly large, with balcony with seating, clean, quiet with a view of the street but also the surrounding mountain panorama with passes. Breakfast quite adequate, good coffee on request. Very friendly hotel staff. Card access, both to the hotel and to the room. Sufficient restaurants in the area, the hotel itself does not have. Journey to the station through the centre a pleasant walk. Thank you.

Everything was fine, no problems

Perfect location right in the middle of Andermatt. The morning breakfast was one of the best on our trip for a smaller hotel. Very nice.

Some of the staff came off as a bit "odd" at best? Perhaps it was just a language issue. Something was lost in translation, I think. And of course, the stay was frightfully expensive. It is Switzerland after all.

The personal attention from the hotel owner, Thomas Kirchhübel, who is on site 24/7, always available for questions and greeting us every morning at breakfast. Thomas was quite knowledgeable about the town of Andermatt, where to rent skis, the best restaurants, and where the skiing was the best. Also, we could tell the hotel had been completely renovated in the last few years, and everything was up-to-date. The hotel pictures on the website don't do the renovations justice!

The Alpenhouse was exactly as described. Our room was clean, nice and warm. The best part of our stay was the owner, Thomas, and his staff. Extremely courteous and attentive. They even open their breakfast room an hour before for us because we were leaving earlier than when they serve it at 7:30am. By the way, the breakfast was fresh, beautifully organized and with multiple options, from warm bread, cereal, fruit, juices, oatmeal, eggs, to a variety of coffees.

Breakfast was super - owner was always around at breakfast time to assist with any queries. Excellent hotel for cyclists, safe room to store your bike and all of the great passes can be cycled from the hotel door.
