Location was great, on the beach and within walking distance from the ferry. Liked that it had a pool, especially for kids. My favorite part was the open communal area with seating, tables and fire pit that is used nightly.

The room was spacious enough, but lacked a dresser, desk, table or chairs. Any of those would've been appreciated. Didn't appreciate one of the grounds keepers. When I fed a dog who had come off the street he tried to sell the dog to me as if it was his. I was later told by my adult son that this same person approached to sell him something asking, "white or green?"

Location/pool / receptionist very helpful

Some of the rooms are worse for wear. Mouldy ceilings. The security guard being inappropriate with me last day spoilt my whole experience in Caye caulker. I just hope he will be sorted out as a female solo traveler I did not feel safe around him

La Islsa is located on Caye Caulker's main street and within walking distance of everything: restaurants, bars, The Split, and water taxi. La Isla has its own swimming pool and swimming beach and dock, which we loved. Our room was big and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. We had a small balcony where we drank our tea in the morning cool. It had a refrigerator and microwave which came in handy.

The one thing we did not like was a light next to our particular room, a motion light apparently, which blinked on and off all night. We had to keep the curtains closed not to see it. This should be fixed!

Beautiful resort at the seaside, with its own jetty and beach area. Lovely palm trees and shrubs all around, a nice clean pool, hammocks in the shade, an evening campfire in the courtyard, complementary tea (lots of choice!), coffee and free water refill in the reception Lovely helpful staff.

While we were there, we had two days a more basic room in the older part of the resort, and then two days in a newer room. The second room was much bigger and slightly better equipped, but it was actually much nicer in the smaller room, since it had a lovely veranda where we could sit, and a great view to the sea. The second room had no view at all, and the WiFi was intermittent.

La Isla resort is centrally located on front street on Caye Caulker. Good beach with lots of chairs only for guests. Roof top to watch the sunrise was so beautiful! The staff was really good! Guillermo was always there and watched over all the guests. Most Belizean people are so friendly!! It was a really good place to stay. Beds are a bit hard to sleep on. I chose the beach front room and being right in front street it got noisy.

Beds were very hard to sleep on. And our room was on the 4th floor and those steps are crazy to walk up!

Overall, the hotel room was a pleasant surprise in regard to what facilities they offered! The room was huge, with a kitchen and a bar, and the kitchen had all the utensils you would need to feel at home: huge fridge, microwave, stove and you could even bake your own coffee-cakes! We didn't even dream of doing this, but if you stay a long time and start missing home food - why not!:) The location is very good - close to the Belize Express harbour, but also not in the noisy part of the island, if you want to rest at night.

The fridge was a bit noisy, though. The swimming pool is small and if you want to swim in the sea, you need to use the bridge.

House was exactly how described. Loved having the beach right there, if we needed something Solomon was on it . I message Solomon before we arrived and he promptly responded. He went above and beyond to help us, house was very clean and easy to get to village by golf karts. There were also good places close by to eat and enjoy. We will definitely go back. There were 8 of us that stayed, and we all were very happy . We only cooked 1 day, but more then enough equipment/dishes to use. Suggestion have coffee and basic sugar.

Only thing we would suggest, since it did have room for all 8, there should be more beach chairs and chairs for out side, there were very few and some were broken.. Not enough for all.

perfect location just a few steps from the boat pier when arriving from Belize City or Ambergris Caye - the possibility to grab a complimentary tea or coffee anytime during the reception opening hours - big room - shower with good water pressure - the campfire in the evening and the two hammocks in the outside area, very cozy! - the exclusive beach sitting area just in front of the hotel for which cushions are provided

the room was quite pricey and check-out was at 11am already, pretty early and considering there is no breakfast served at the hotel premises. - as my onward transport (watertaxi) left the island at 12h45 I asked for a late check-out at 12h noon which was allowed by the staff. However when I handed my keys in at 12h noon the same lady showed some surprise that I was checking out only then and told me check-out was at 11am. I think she should have remembered our agreement for a bit more than 2 hours... I just ignored it and politely said that 12h late check-out was what we agreed upon and left a bit puzzled. Other than this minor incident no complaints.

The location was awesome for Lobster Festival in July. Pool was also much appreciated as was their dock right in the middle of the action and wonderful patio chairs of different varieties set out along their portion of the beach with nice palm trees above to shade you for most of the day. We came to this resort last year, and returned again this year. If you can afford it (& we're not rich either) the front room over looking the street was beyond for ambiance, breeze, views and scenery. Their nightly fire was also a nice touch, even through theres little chance you'll be feeling cold!

We stayed here 4 nights and had to switch rooms for the last 2 days, and we knew that going in and while our second room was fine, there was not a fridge in the room or if you feel you'd want it, a safe to put your valuables in while you're out and about.
