Absolutely loved our stay! The surroundings were beautiful – nestled by a peaceful lake and surrounded by serene woods, it was the perfect nature escape. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Check-in was super easy with the self-service terminal, which made everything smooth and quick. Free parking was a big plus. The whole place was so quiet – the only sounds we heard were birds and the breeze through the trees. Would definitely stay again

The only downside was related to the luggage. If you have large and heavy bags, it can be a bit challenging to get to the room due to the stone pathway. Just something to keep in mind. Other than that, everything else was lovely and well worth it!

This was our second stay at Forsthaus Seebergen — we also chose it on the way back from Norway because our first stay was so pleasant. Again, everything was wonderful. Frau Stecker greeted us warmly at the entrance after I called her. We had a different room this time (room 12), which was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed: a great kettle, good selection of teas, a reliable TV, a large bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. The view over the lake was beautiful, and the atmosphere around the hotel is peaceful, surrounded by forest and wildlife. We slept with the windows open — just birds and nature. It’s the perfect place to relax mid-journey.

There’s really nothing major to mention. In the bathroom, there was a bit of mildew in the shower cabin — I’m particular about cleanliness, but it wasn’t a problem for me. As I mentioned in my earlier review, it might be nice to cover the cheese and cold cuts at breakfast to keep them fresh-looking. Otherwise, it’s clear the staff really care, and everything is prepared with attention and heart. The restaurant was closed this time (we knew in advance), but we brought our own food, sat on the lovely terrace, and felt completely welcome.

We loved everything about this peaceful hotel in the woods. The house has character and warmth, and our Deluxe room was spacious, cozy, and beautifully maintained. Frau Stecker was incredibly welcoming and helpful — she explained everything clearly and made us feel at home. We stayed twice — on the way to Norway and on the way back — and both times it was the perfect stop to rest and relax. The area is calm and green, and the atmosphere is ideal for unwinding after a long drive. We especially appreciated the personal touch and quiet surroundings.

There wasn’t really anything serious to complain about. In older places like this, you may spot a spider or two on the ceiling, or a bit of mildew in the bathroom — but honestly, by evening light, you barely notice. At breakfast, some of the cold items (cheese, ham, eggs) looked a bit dry when we arrived at the end of the service. Maybe covering them with lids could help keep them fresher for longer. But these are just small suggestions, not real complaints.

The surroundings and the accommodations are beautiful with a lot of nature around but not at all far to the nearby town, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the check-in is very easy with the self check-in

Location.

No staff helping on my queries. I left a travel bag full of clothes. Just realised when we have traveled 200km away. Tried to call the hotel to check whether they found my bag, but no one answered the phone.

Nice rooms and a very nice place. Staff was very kind.

Bathroom wasn’t clean at all. No soap in the shower. And the breakfast bread was way over the date.

Lovely stay, nice room even with the dog. Very pretty area around. Super friendly staff.
