The location is unbeatable: just steps from the canal (the Gracht), the city centre, and the beautiful Noorderplantsoen (park), which is perfect for walks or just relaxing. Although you're right in the middle of everything, it has a peaceful and calm vibe. The perfect balance! The atmosphere is amazing, with a great mix of people: Young travellers, older guests, couples, solo adventurers and even families. Everyone feels welcome, creating a really warm and open energy throughout. The shared spaces were an added bonus: video games? Why not! Table tennis? Yes, please! Coworking space? Super helpful!

The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. I really appreciated the water heater for making tea. There was a little dust in the corners, but it didn't detract from the overall comfort.

The Social Hub was a very great surprise for us. We loved staying there as it has a very cool philosophy and there's plenty of things to do. It was also located in a nice area and you have a bus stop and a few cafes very close by. The rooms were surprisingly quiet too.

The price we paid for 4 nights was quite a lot but we were at the Social Hub because of the TT Assen and because if that and many other events in the area many hotels were booked out or more expensive than usual. Not a fault of the hotel per se.

Excellent location, clean and nice room with a beautiful view. The staff was helpful and there was free cake and ice tea! Lots of nice amenities like free laundry, a gym, a comfy hub to hang out downstairs and meet other travelers. The checkout at 12 and the fact that you can leave your luggage longer if you need to.

The room was nice but lacked a bit for two people. There was only one bedside table and light stand, which isn't enough if you want to read before bed. There was also only one chair. You can hear people talking in the corridors, but that's common in hotels.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, our first room had a window that wouldn’t open, but the staff quickly resolved this by moving us to an even nicer room – a great start to our stay. The breakfast was impressive, offering a wide range of high-quality options, like a classic continental spread. The location is fantastic, within easy walking distance to all the main attractions. For the price, it was more luxurious than we expected. Highly recommended!

Room with wonderful views, everything clean, nice common areas to work. Very friendly staff. Direct bus connections and the historic center of Groningen in close walking distance.

I only tried the breakfast once, but found it slightly underwhelming. A lot depends on when you arrive at the buffet. There are very good options in the neighbourhood though, so I'd recommend to try the hotel breakfast once and then decide for yourself.

I did a long stay of 2 weeks and it was good to have a small kitchen in the same studio. I also love the idea of being able to rent a bike on the same accommodation, really enjoyed cycling in Groningen. The staff were nice and all was pretty clean. I went there as part of my work in UCG hospital and the Social Hub was just 10min walking. Very quiet area.

Though there was a kitchen I missed to have some cutlery, dishes or pan available. Not a big issue as I bought some single use ones.

When I was a student at Groningen, this place was on my wishlist. I had visited the restaurant/café back then, but it wasn't until years later, during my recent stay, that I got to see the rooms. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, equipped with a Nespresso machine and a variety of coffee capsules. The reception staff were all very friendly, and we even enjoyed a complimentary laundry service. Boterdiep's location is very central, perfect for exploring Groningen, which is a small city. We loved walking around the hotel. Everything exceeded my expectations. If I ever return, I would love to stay there again.

There is nothing that I disliked.

We had a comfortable 2 night stay at the hotel and we are very happy with everything. First of all, we asked for a hairdryer and dental kit and it was brought to our room very fast. We enjoyed spending time at the social areas at the ground floor, and the distance from the city centre, restaurants and bars was very short. We were surprised to notice the rooms had very good soundproofing and we didn’t hear anything during the night so we had a very comfortable sleep. Overall it was a very good experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking to spend time in Groningen.

The lobby and all facilities offered are great like a gym, table tennis etc. it looks very boutique and welcoming.

The breakfast buffet was way too crowded, long waiting times, staff didn’t manage to refill offers and to remove dishes from previous breakfast guests. There were no hair dryers in our rooms. Also why only give on one side of the bed sockets and a nightstand and a night lamp? That’s a bit strange and not convenient. Seems like lots of efforts were dedicated to marketing and selling the place as a community but for €100 / night you could expect to have a hair dryer and room and bathroom a bit cleaner than they were. Also we extended one night and after updating our cards we had some hours later a new issues with the card to open our doors..

As always the relaxed and young population, both staff and students are nice to be among. Room is nice, great bed, fun texts etc

Staff behind the reception was absent and hard to find these two days, both when arriving and leaving. Luckily someone from the restaurant was helpful in both situations. The shower is really a problem. Nice firm jet. But the floor of the whole bathroom became wet (even with the towel on the ground). So I spent ten minutes soaking up all this water.
