I had a lovely stay at Landhotel. The receptionist was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful with my questions and requests. The on-site restaurant, Tindur, was a real highlight—especially the smoked lamb carpaccio and Atlantic wolffish, both of which were outstanding. My room looked out over the rolling, grassy hills of the South Coast of Iceland. That evening, just before bed, a soft fog settled over the landscape under the Midnight Sun—it was quiet and almost otherworldly. The following morning, I went to the dining area again to enjoy a kingly breakfast.

We loved everything about this Hotel. The Staff were exceptional from the beginning. The check in was very professional and we were provided a lot of information. We immediately reserved a dinner table and requested the “aurora wake up call”. Dinner was very good and high quality. Some of the staff were in training. We noticed that even while training multiple new members of staff, the service didn’t lack any attention. I was feeling a little under the weather. When I asked for a bit of honey for my tea, one of the service staff provided not only the honey but also lemon to cure my sore throat. If ever in Iceland, please stay here!

We had an unforgettable experience at the Landhotel. We stayed there for 3 nights, arriving on New Year’s day. As soon as we stepped into the property, Honza was ready to greet us in a very charismatic manner, he made us feel welcome. We were very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge about the northern lights and surroundings. We requested a call to see the lights and- yes we saw them!!! We were grateful to Erick’s recommendations at Tindur restaurant. His service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The night shift was supervised by Diana who looked after us at the bar and made us feel like at home. Great location to see the northern lights. Nice design, clean and fresh.
The only thing we were unhappy with was the car park which lacked signage. The way in and out was difficult.

The room was big and the position great to see the northern lights (in the middle of nowhere) :) Staff was kind, restaurant had good proposals and the breakfast was also ok (very similar to the one of the other hotels in Iceland)
I would improve the services. The sauna was not working, the infra-red sauna was working but you had to start it and wait 30/40 minutes for it to get warm (also, it was very small). The hot tub was covered and nobody from the staff was there to help. Definitely the services could be improved.

The hotel is perfect for northern lights viewing, we saw the lights three nights in a row at the hotel. The front office staff (Honza and Petr) were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The room was cozy and bed was comfortable. They had a coffee machine available 24/7 free of charge in the restaurant which is great.
It was quite snowy during our stay so getting in and out of the hotel road was sometimes a challenge due to the high snow.

The hotel is still under construction, but I am very glad that I chose it at that time. With its modern design, each space is softly and brightly lit, the shower water is abundant and comfortable, and the dining environment is elegant. When booking the hotel, breakfast was not included, but upon arrival, a colorful and rich breakfast was provided for free, which was a pleasant surprise. I believe that once it is officially open, it will provide an even better experience for customers.
It would be truly delightful if there were a wider array of dinner options available. Given the exceptional quality of fish in Iceland, it seems a pity to confine them solely to frying and grilling. In the northern regions, I've had the pleasure of tasting astonishingly flavorful raw fish preparations, seasoned with local spices, as well as steamed fish dishes that offer a harmonious blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors.

The staff was really kind and helpful. The receptionist who was there upon our arrival, shows us on the map what we can do because the weather conditions wasn’t good for the things that we have planed to do. The food in the restaurant was good and also the breakfast has many options to choose. The bed was comfortable and we have a huge window right across in order to see the sky. Till now it was the best hotel in Iceland!
Keep in mind that the hotel located far from the city lights, as they mention also to their website.

The hotel is nice, very clean, nice little bar area and good size rooms with comfy beds. There is a wake up call available for the Northern lights. the staff is very friendly and polite. We had dinner every evening it was delicious and very generous portions. there is a large car park, free of charge. I didn't use the spa facilities therefore can't comment. Good breakfast. the hotel is in a very quiet, remote area, it is what we were looking for but it might not be to everyone's taste.

This is a brilliant hotel if your goal is to see the northern lights. It is about 10 miles outside of Hella so there is almost no light pollution nearby. The hotel also has a TV in the lobby area covering the sky so you can see when the northern lights are visible. There is plenty of free parking outside the hotel. The room is functional rather than luxurious, but the bed was comfy and the shower was great.
The only minor negative was at breakfast where we were waiting for over 10 minutes for hot food to be replaced when it had run out.

Beautiful, clean room. Every staff member we interacted with were wonderful, especially Adele at the front desk and Tomas in the restaurant. This hotel is top notch and we decided to book another stay here towards the end of our trip because we loved it so much! The dinner was fabulous! We enjoyed every part of it from the homemade bread to the delicious main courses to the incredible desserts!!
Nothing. Everything was perfect!
