This was a fantastic stay, though we were upgraded to the property across the street (it seemed the old guesthouse was not really in use?). The room was quite spacious, the bed felt enormous, there was a giant window looking out into a garden area, our own patio, and entrance to the area including a hot tub out the bathroom. There was also actual shelf space above the sink. We were offered complimentary bathrobes. We also ate here and the food was good. The staff was very kind and helpful. Huge radiator for drying wet clothes and a separate one in the bathroom. Peacefully decorated. We were able to spot the northern lights right from the hot tub. The upgrade and thus value plays into my opinion but I loved this stay.

The only negative experience here was that the parking lot was full and we had to park across the street. The hot tubs are small, but were also vacant so can’t really complain.

+ the best thing about staying here were the very kind and helpful staff at the Hill hotel (the adjacent hotel where we check in, have breakfast and there is a restaurant). + varied and tasty breakfast. + free parking. + quiet even with window open.

- room was too hot: heating had been heated to 24 C before we arrived and despite being then set to 21 C only reduced to 23 C by the time we left, even having the bedroom window open. - bed linen was discoloured (dirty) and had someone’s hair in it.

Great location, close to everything a tourist needs. The room is huge, cozy and super clean, with a small kitchen and even a sofa. A breakfast is also included. A very fair price, compares to other places in this area. Although it's a very popular area, it didn't feel crowded, like you're in your own cabin and not a hotel.

No table and chairs (unlike the pictures in the site), I guess the sofa and the coffee table come instead. Shower is a bit small. No mirror in the room (beside the mirror in the bathroom).

The breakfast was really good, sort of buffet with plenty of local options and the restaurant was really nice with a nice view. The room was nice and very spacious but there were a lot of noises and no sound proof so we could hear our neighbors but apart from that, all was very good.

The parking lot is not well indicated, it is marked one street behind but you have to make the check-in at another building...in the middle of a snowstorm that's not nice hopefully it could be arranged.

The room was lovely, with a great view of the river from our bedroom window. It was warm and comfortable, with everything we needed, and being able to park right outside was a bonus in the cold weather! Breakfast was tasty and a good start to the day. And you can get 20% off the Secret lagoon if you stay here, which is another bonus!

Arriving after a long day, we were hoping to be able to eat dinner, but it was not available that evening, and the restaurant down the road was shut on a Monday also! However, the hotel opposite was open, so we were able to get something there. This was only a small aggravation though in an otherwise wonderful stay.

Quiet, clean, charming retro style rooms. The host quickly obliged when we asked for extra pillows. Breakfast was included in the price. It was OK - bread / toast / cheese / meats / cereals / tea and coffee. Nothing wrong with that, but nothing special either. We would happily stay at Guesthouse Fluđir again.

Unfortunately, Guesthouse Fluđir's restaurant wasn't open the night we stayed and the hotel restaurant across the road was booked out. There aren't a lot of dining out choices in Fluđir but we were able to find somewhere a few minutes' drive away.

Amazing location really close to Secret Lagoon (ask for discount when staying here :-)). Very friendly staff and tasty breakfast included in the price. We had the room on the ground floor, yet we felt safe and also we could park our car just in front of the room, which was comfortable. The room was big enough and warm (we stayed in February and the room was warm enough despite cold weather).

It would be great to have more dishes (maybe some bowls for instant soup) and mini fridge. Also more space for hanging clothes would be nice (not enough coat-hangers).

Location: great location after touring Golden Circle sites. Easy jumping off point for attractions on the south coast. Comfortable room in motel style building. No staff on premises but 24/7 key pickup in the hotel across the street. There is a good restaurant at the hotel across the street also, with breakfast buffet available. Close to Secret Lagoon.

The room was very cosy, beds were comfortable, we slept very good. Its in a good location if you wish to visit the Secret Lagoon. The breakfast was amazing. Excellent value for money. Very nice hosts. Thank you!

We came prepared because we knew about the lack of dinner options but it would have been nice to have some more kitchen appliances in the room, for example a microwave. When we arrived then the shop closed (7pm), so make sure you have done your groceries before.

Location is within minutes of the Secret lagoon in the same village along the Golden Circle. Also within 30-60 mins from Gullfoss waterfall, Geyser and Thingvillir National Park with Silfra 2 tectonic continental plate snorkling center. The guesthouse is part of the Hill Hotel, their Restaurant has nice local food and is just across the road.
