Best hosts!! When we got to the property, we were told we would find the key in the front door, but it wasn't there. We called Smári (the owner) and he came out at 10 pm to open the door for us in the middle of a snowstorm. Once we got inside, we found a wonderful two-bedroom mini-apartment with an in-unit kitchen and a big kitchen down the hall. Everything was clean and we enjoyed the night sleeping in comfortable beds. The next afternoon after my friends and I had checked out, I got a text from Smári saying that my friend had left her wallet (her driver's license, credit cards, student ID, etc.) and he offered to bring it to us when we would be in Reykjavik later that week. We met up with him and he handed it back to us, what a wonderful host. He went above and beyond!

This was a really nice, rural place to stay. It's run by people who need supported living. We had a small apartment with 2 beds in the lounge area and a sofa and separate kitchen dinner, plus bathroom and extra bedroom with 2 beds in. Then there were communal rooms to share with other guest bedrooms, large kitchen fully stocked with lots of tables, a conservatory and lounge with family games plus 4 communal bathrooms. Its a good choice to stay when visiting the Golden circle area, nice peaceful and rural. There is a cafe and shop which sell products made by the residents to raise funds. A picturesque, rural and peaceful location to stay.

Communication with staff was via email and we arrived without detail of where our room was and how to enter because I hadn't read the email before we left and I didn't have phone signal there to access emails or contact details. If we hadn't found a staff member by chance then we would have been stranded. Read all emails and take notes! The accomodation was really lovely for us but other rooms are small and basic with shared bathrooms.

-Bathroom is spacious and clean, but drainage was slow. -Guesthouse is much more spacious than expected, with a big dining place, a big kitchen, two interaction/TV/boardgame rooms. Good for big group.

-Towel is provided but no body soap nor hair shampoo. -Room was smaller than expected and only a small lamp table to put things. -Limited parking space? We were first to arrive so we got lucky. Two more cars fitted into the roadside parking behind us, but there were at least 2 other groups that were in the house, I wonder where they parked. -Unlucky for us, a family with a noisy baby stayed right beside us, so our sleep was disturbed by the baby cry that lasted all night to the morning.

The location and pricing worked out great for us. They had a nice big shared kitchen as well as a cute balcony area. Luckily there was only one other room booked in this building, so we had a nice quiet stay here. The doors were creaky so it worked out that it wasn't too busy!

We arrived at night and it was hard to see where the entrance was. We went into the downstairs private area. Would be nice if there was more light on the building to show you the name at night and know where to park/enter.

It wasn't the exact same guesthouse but a nearby guesthouse in the same complex. I think it's all the same. They were very neat, clean and comfortable. The kitchen and dining area was large, loved that part. They also had an outdoor and an indoor seating area for eating and chilling.

The bathroom cum shower was only one in our guesthouse at least at our wing which had 6 rooms sharing the same bathroom cum shower. However, I never had a problem not having access to it. It was quite clean thanks to fellow travellers like us keeping it clean.

- The position is perfect to visit Geyser area, Gullfoss waterfalls, Thingvellir park and thermal pools (Secret Lagoon, Laugavartn...). - The village is very nice, inside a green area with many wooden houses; we had a little room with shared bathroom and kitchen: the bathroom is very large and clean; in the kitchen there is a big common freezer and you can find some common stuff to eat and drink (tea, coffe and biscuits for example, but noodles too) - Self check-in is easy and comfortable - Breakfast is continental, with vegetables too and it is served in a building near the house with rooms. - There's a lot of space to park the car.

The guest house in Solheimer is a great place to stay while exploring the Golden circle area. It is in a quiet eco-village with plenty of activities. The shared kitchen / dining area is spacious and has all utensils needed to cook. Do bring your own spices/oil as needed.

The bathroom situation was challenging. It had just 2 bathrooms for all of the guests (which can be more than a dozen). Additionally, the parking area could have better signage so that you don't accidentally park elsewhere

A great little find. We really enjoyed our stay at this Eco Village. Great sized rooms with private bathrooms in the Veghus guesthouse. This had a very large shared dining area with reasonably well sized kitchen. Continental breakfast down at the cafe was included in the rate which was good. This accommodation has a lot of grounds which you can walk around, including a wooded area up past the geothermal system which was great for an evening stroll in the peace and quiet. Good, clear, recycling regime which is lacking in many accommodations in Iceland. Note, this accommodation is quite remote.

If you are planning to cook for yourself bring food with you as there is no supermaket close by. If arriving before 17:00 you can eat in the cafe. If you are planning to eat in the nearest restaurant Minniborgir (about 9km) book a table, they get busy as there is not much else close by and they were turning away many people the day we went.

The included breakfast was terrific! The staff accommodated our need to leave early. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spacious and well-appointed. it's a great location to explore the Golden Circle while being away from it all. We wish we'd had another day there to enjoy just relaxing on the property (as it is, we mostly used it as a place to sleep). It served that need admirably, and the beautiful setting was a nice bonus!

The beds weren't super-comfortable. And the doors make a LOT of noise opening and shutting. Noise, in general, was a problem with other travelers on different sleep schedules coming and going at all hours. But we were tired enough we didn't mind that much!

Everything about this booking was great, except for the company, but that’s not the property’s fault. Just be aware that this is a large property and you could easily end up in a guest house with almost 20 teenagers on a youth group trip like we did. They took over every common area and had little mind for anyone else. This property is set up well to accommodate groups like this and is likely it could happen for others.
