Hidden Gem! great value for money. AND it is exactly what it looks like on the photos. Three rooms on first floor and a few more on 2nd and 3rd floor. Kitchen and dining area on 2nd floor and a balcony on 3rd floor. I live in this residential island purely for activities so I really don't care too much whether the hotel has buffet breakfast (you still have three options! and if you want more you can visit any restaurant on the island) or whether the room is very spacious (it is still quite spacious to me) or whether it is close to the beach (island is very small). It is new, nice and clean, staff very nice, warm, friendly and helpful, help to arrange speedboat tickets for us, both arrival and departure, contact resort island so I can have very smooth transition, and introduces Maldivian style breakfast (which I like a lot!). Wifi speed quite fast (same bandwidth, fewer people to share). Much cheaper than Arena or Kanni.

Island Ambience is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast is good, with 3 options available, "Maldivian style", Continental, or pancakes. The best thing about Island Ambience is the staff. We were extremely well looked after by Rakib. He welcomed us from the fast ferry, and took care of our every need during the stay. We originally intended to return to Male in the evening to catch our flight early the following morning. However, he found a fast ferry that left at 06.30 and arrived in Male airport at 07.05, so we extended our stay and were able to enjoy a sunset fishing trip and sleep in Maafushi one extra night. He was up at 06.00 in the morning with a "take-away" breakfast for us to eat either on the boat or at the airport, and carried our luggage to the boat. The fast ferry was there as promised at 06.30 am, we got onboard, and Rakib stayed on the jetty waving goodbye. It´s so nice to see such attention to detail, and genuine care for the clients. 5 stars for the staff! Would definitely recommend staying here.

The staff Mohammed and Saif are top professionals and people. Anything we asked they did their best and exceeded our expectations. The Room: The room is very cosy and warm. The sockets are updated, The lambs in the room are calming, Mattress is extremely comfortable, Mini fridge, Safe box. Toilet: The shower is clean and water is warm. Fresh towels, shampoo and shower gel daily. Hair dryer. Best part about island ambience? The staff are incredible and always welcoming. Breakfast was always given to us early if we had an early start to our day. Location is in the centre of Maafushi.

Only minor thing I could say is the WiFi can be slow or disconnect sometimes. Not a big problem as data is good value and reception area always had good WiFi if urgently needed.

From the moment Raikib met us at the Island ferry and took our luggage to the minute we left, the team could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable. The team were always a whatsapp away for any of our questions and also helped with explaining how things worked locally and recomendations. We stayed for 7 nights. The aircon was a bonus, especially every day was 32 degrees.

This is a small boutique hotel, just 7 rooms, so bear in mind when breakfast is 7 to 9.30am then there will be limited breakfast options, no 24h reception, etc etc. So manage your expectation and you will be super pleased if you stay at Island Ambiance.

Make sure your room is not on the ground floor,since the rooms there don’t have much natural light.

Arriving by speedboat I was picked by up friendly Rakib, who had a luggage cart. He also did the check-in and gave me his phone number, in case nobody was at reception. Later I also met the equally friendly owner Muhamad. Location is good, at the more quiet eastern side. The room was fine with a comfortable bed. It had enough hangers (plastic), a safe and - very appreciated - a beach towel. Racks for drying clothes could be found in the small courtyard in front of the ground floor rooms. Daily two water bottles were provided. Breakfast was served at the table on the first floor. I always went for the good Maldivian breakfast with Roshi, Mas Huni and Omelet, plus a plate of fresh fruit.

For WiFi one had to reenter username and password, every time after one had left the room. Sometimes the signal was bad in the room, so I had to go to the lobby. Being on the ground floor the view from the room window was towards a close by wall. Some sockets were so high up on a bare wall, that they were useless. The room has no fridge or TV, but I did not miss them.

I recently stayed at Island Ambience, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment I arrived. They made me feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delightful—everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. What truly impressed me was how the staff asked if there was anything they could do to make it even better, showing their commitment to guest satisfaction. The apartment itself was spotless and exceptionally well-maintained. It was clear that cleanliness was a top priority, as the apartment was cleaned frequently during my stay, which made everything feel fresh and inviting. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend Island Ambience to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful furniture and design. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable rooms and the bathrooms are great too. Great attention to detail. Luxury mattresses, pillows, soft towels & cosy bed side lamps. We have travelled for 3 weeks around the Maldive islands and this one is the best hotel quality/price wise we have experienced. Highly recommended. Book with confidence!

Nothing not to like. Everything is brand new and done to a very good standard with great staff

We really enjoyed the hospitality offered by this small hotel. Rakib and Thufazzal are the gems of Maafushi, they took great care of us and are always concerned about our comfort in the island. The breakfast was wonderful, despite few choices they are wholesome and filling. We were offered a private fishing trip during one of the sunset. It was incredibly fun and probably our greatest experience in Maafushi. We look forward to return to this beautiful place.

Great breakfast. We were also allowed to have breakfast early because we had a snorkeling trip. Also special requests for breakfast were possible. The room was clean, and we could always ask for cleaning and new towels if needed. New beach towels also available. Fresh water bottle every day. The best of the best in the room is the bed. Super comfortable! I habe never slept in such a comfortable bed before, not even in a resort. The location is away of the hustle and bustle of tourists but within walking distance of everything like shops, restaurants and bikini beach, just a few minute walk. Very nice hotel management and staff. Big thank you to the very nice guy who was responsible for breakfast. The hotel is very nice decorated and we always felt welcome.
