Location was reason for choosing property, near to family. Kitchen well equipped. TV fine, but mounted high on lounge wall. Pub a short distance away does a reasonable meal and not expensive. WiFi ok.

Heating was difficult to control with wide margin between thermostat cutting in/out. Bed was not comfortable and creaked. It was dusty beneath, with assorted debris- including the head of the radiator TRV ! I put it back- no charge. 2-seater sofa in lounge is overdue replacement, being well-worn and rather too low for comfort. Bedroom and bathroom very restricted in space.

Spacious, comfortable and bright property with both a bathroom and shower room. Great, quiet location about 10 minute drive from the centre, loved the private outside space which was nicer than the photos depict. Coffee, tea, milk and cookies available on arrival was a welcome touch.

A couple of minor cleanliness issues (however owners are next door and it's likely this would have been remedied had we contacted them on discovery.) The single room is very small and gets quite stuffy, leaving the window open causes the door to blow open which didn't suit our privacy conscious teenager so if you have a similar situation you might want to bring a fan.

Excellent host, friendly and extremely knowledgeable regarding places to visit and eat during our stay, we were very lucky with the weather and managed to get out and about every day.. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, and everything you could need was provided We were upgraded with our accommodation when we arrived.. and can not fault a single thing.. To top it all, a lovely pub opposite, walking distance, staff there so friendly and welcoming..

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. A real home from home. John kindly upgraded us to the bigger cottage (The Loft) at no extra cost. Fully equipped, including dishwasher and washing machine (not that we used them.) Lovely powerful shower Local bus service to Durham/Newcastle less than 5 minute walk away. Ideal for visiting Durham, Beamish Museum (a must!) and surrounding area. Addition of coat hooks in hall and a lamp in the lounge would be great. Local pub (over the road serves lovely meals) and the Chinese restaurant- Wok (10 minutes walk) is brilliant

It was a nice quiet village and a fifteen minute ride to the train station which was about £12 in a taxi so it was good. The host left us biscuits and we had Shampoo/conditioner and shower gel provided which was nice. The host came over when we had a problem with the heating. It was a nice little cottage big enough for two people and we had a nice time.

The only thing that I wasn’t happy with is that the couch was a lot smaller than what was advertised on the pictures of the website. I thought it was a long couch that I could sleep on but it was quite a small couch. So it’s not good if you are staying with a friend and are not sharing the bed but it is a lovely cottage to stay in with a partner.

This cottage is in a lovely quiet village location just 15 minutes from Durham by car. It was very clean and well maintained, with comfortable beds. The host was easy to communicate with and checking in was easy. Milk in the fridge, coffee/tea and a pack of biscuits were a nice touch.

Nothing negative to report, except perhaps the weather was a bit too hot 🥵

Welcome pack was very thoughtful, and made our breakfasts & stay much simpler. Well equipped rooms, great bedding, lovely aspect and excellent location - perched in a hamlet high in the hills overlooking Durham Cathedral, close to a village pub serving good food, but a quick and easy drive in to town.

We encountered one little problem with the facilities, but this was quickly attended to by the owners who did their best to sort it out during our stay.

The cottage was so lovely and warm and very modern. It had everything u needed . The host was very attentive and left us milk and cookies for us when we. Arrived. Can't fault him or the cottage. Brilliant wee country pub across the road,food was to dye for was the best pub food I've had been told it's a new chef . Would love to go back to the cottage and the friendly staff at the pub . A very happy weekend we had . It was a early Xmas present for my girlfriend we enjoyed it very much .

Tiny but well equipped. Lovely comfortable bed and great shower with plenty of pressure. Milk and biscuits provided were a nice touch. Excellent location for Durham. We drove and used the P&R service into the city.

All you need for a cosy get away. Everything is provided. Shampoo/conditioner, soap, towels, dishwashers facilities and washer if needed. Small but all you need for a couple. Literally a minute walk from the local. Would definitely beek again

If I had to be picky, I would have to say the cobwebs in the bedroom. Maybe a bit later checkout.
