Home from home but with much better food ! Lovely airy , light room , very comfortable bed ,great power-shower, friendly and helpful staff , Braveen and Jack and others , really good location for walking plus easy access to Durham which is a beautiful city .Good bus service and walks along the river Wear all accessible from here . Special mention must be made of the cuisine here : I'm a fan of Indian cooking but this place is exceptional in variety of choice and quality of the cooking . Really good cooking. Most choice I've ever seen on a menu -all the dishes I had were a delight .Kitchen open From 4pm - 11pm. The place does takeaway too and is very much part of the local village which adds to its 'homely' atmosphere . There is a nice restaurant and bar or you can have meals in your room. The TV worked better than my own , the power- shower was great , all was clean and comfortable. Room service visited each day to replenish milk etc Nice views of the distant hills and playpark from my window . Bus stops close by , also nice country walks to next village and nearby other pubs which also do food - though I didn't try these . I felt welcomed and well looked after here and will visit again.
This is quite a busy place so I couldn't describe it as a 'quiet retreat ' which somewhere more rural would be but then it is in a living village near a city and a nice place to stay so it is busy - but friendly !

The room was basic but comfortable which was what I would expect for the price I paid. The host was very helpful and came to switch the heating on to ensure the room was warm enough. The Indian restaurant which was part of the hotel was excellent; the service was good, the food was exceptional and the prices were very good.
The walls of the room are very thin and the person in the neighbouring room had their television on at high volume early in th e morning. The shower was poor. Although it came on at a reasonable temperature it very quickly ran cold. It wasn't possible to get a proper shower.

The room was quite spacious and the bed was comfortable. All the facilities (coffee/tea making, television and shower) worked well. The property was conveniently situated in a country location just a short drive from Durham centre or the Park-and-Ride. Onsite parking was plentiful.
It was unfortunate that the chef of the attached Indian restaurant was ill when we stayed. We were, however, very happy with the Aruvi Indian Restaurant in nearby Spennymoor.

The staff was very kind and helpful, and they made me feel like a valued customer. Since occupancy was low, I received a complimentary upgrade. Extending my trip was easy, and they were very accommodating. The room was spacious and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was perfect for my stay. Overall, I truly enjoyed my experience at the Croxdale Inn.
I have no complaints.

It was a lovely new room. Not quite finished yet but good. Glad there was only one person in the room - might be a bit small for 2 but comfortable. The landlord and bar people were friendly, good and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay there, thankyou.
Only little things around it being a new, not quite finished room.

Convenient place to stay, good location with parking behind the property, friendly staff, Indian restaurant with delicious affordable food, with good Internet connection. A lovely children's park in front of the property. The owner let us check in at earlier time, easy check out too just dropped the key by the exit door.
Needs proper cleaning of the bedside drawers. Food was left by the previous tenant with spilled jam in it.

Very welcoming at reception, found room to be clean, spacious and double bed very comfortable. Main road runs past our room and we didn't have any noise disturbance and had a great nights sleep. I enjoy leaving the car at home and this hotel is on a bus route between Durham and Bishop Auckland. The X21 bus goes through Durham to Chester le Street and Newcastle. Would have liked to dine at the adjoining Indian Restaurant but didn't get the opportunity on this occasion.
Hotel doesn't do breakfast. We either bought pastries back to the room for the next morning or took the early bus to Durham to breakfast at the Riverside Cafe or Wetherspoons.

The owner was super friendly and very accommodating, didn’t mind what time I came back as long as I was quiet and didn’t disturb anyone. The location was good as it had many busses that were accessible and a car park. Shower water pressure was good too, kettle and hair dryer in the room, towel and fresh shampoo and soaps too.
The restaurant was closed however this was due to it having work so I didn’t get a chance to try but everything was great!

Really enjoyed my stay here. Stayed just for one night with work and the manager made me feel incredibly welcome and even upgraded my room as a goodwill gesture. The room was clean and comfortable, and the attached Indian restaurant was lovely. Best food I’ve had in this area so far, was really pleased with it. Would definitely stay again.
Location is lacking local amenities like a late night shop/takeaways however if driving this isn’t a problem and as mentioned there is a lovely restaurant attached if you do need food.

Didn't have breakfast but the owner recommended The Cottage Cafe in Spennymoor which was excellent and really good value for money. The staff at the Croxdale Inn were extremely helpful and pleasant. Anthony is a valuable asset he is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We ate in the adjoining Indian restaurant and the food was excellent and staff extremely pleasant.
For the price we paid we wouldn't have expected anything better. There was nothing we didn't like.
