Staff are excellent, friendly and offer great customer service. Location is excellent if you want somewhere to relax. It made us feel at ease being surrounded by countryside. Room was lovely, clean and had everything you could need. Food is exceptional. We will be going back for one of the luxury rooms.

Minor issue but the bed frame creaked a lot at the slightest movement. It kept us awake over night. Definitely hasn't put us off going back as everything else was so good. We're really pleased we found this little gem!

Check-in is easy and convenient for any time arrival. We got there at 20.30. Rooms are clean and warm, which is super when the outside temperature is freezing. Extras available include tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, as you can help yourself. Staff are very friendly without being overbearing. Special thanks to the breakfast chef and housekeeping. You make your guests welcome, and nothing is too much. Breakfast is amazing with freshly cooked full English and any combination, homemade sweet treats, and a range of continental items.

The staff at Thomas Wright House were outstanding and couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. The complimentary Prosecco was a lovely touch. We stayed in the Phoenix Suite and it was absolutely beautiful. The huge spa bath was amazing and so relaxing - just perfect for a romantic getaway. The fact that the hotel offers room service was a huge positive for us as well, so we could eat in the privacy of our room. The breakfast was fantastic! Cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning 😊

What an amazing dog friendly place to stay en route from the Scottish Highlands to Suffolk. After long journey with our old collie dog, our room had a lovely wicker dog basket with blanket in it, 2 dog bowls and a little pot of Sir Woofchester’s Sunday Roast dog treats! Immaculately clean bedroom. There is a village green just down the road for a quick dog walk, and owner supplied details of nearby walks. The most wonderful cooked breakfast with best bacon I’ve ever tasted, home made chocolate chip flapjack, choice of cereals, gluten free toast for me, quality Tiptree marmalade and honey. Our dog was welcomed in the breakfast room, a blanket found for her to lie on, water bowl provided and she could have had a sausage if we had agreed! We are definitely returning very soon!

Nothing to dislike!

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was nicely prepared and generously sized, although maybe a bit too much for us. We were there on a Friday and Saturday night and although a public house we were not disturbed at all by the customers. It is in a nice quiet country village. The room was generally very clean and all looked to be recently re-furbished. with tea and coffee maker, free drinking water and ample towels etc.. No problem at all with parking

The rooms are not serviced by default but I think you can probably request it. The shower and bathroom looked to be recently installed, but the shower screens leaked and the floor was sticky under foot (needs more washing?). The shower hose leaked at the joint to the head.

The staff are lovely, friendly and go above and beyond to ensure you have the perfect stay. The hotel is modern, bright and the rooms provide a luxurious feel. The restaurant service was exceptional with the food to match. We stayed in the phoenix suit with it's fabulous double sunken spa bath gave that extra special feel to our stay. We celebrated a birthday and our wedding anniversary whilst on our stay and the staff dressed the bed with petals and complimentary prosecco. They also gave us a congratulations card and another bottle of complimentary prosecco to celebrate our anniversary. The staff do so much more than just host, they make your stay the best it possibly can be. The breakfast menu has lots of options and everything is cooked beautifully with the option of hot or cold food. you can have room service if you wish but we enjoyed having it in the breakfast room. The staff again friendly, polite and serving with a smile. The owners of the establishment are on hand and are super friendly and offer a warm friendly smile and have made our stay perfect for us.

There was nothing to not like, this hotel is definitely worth the visit. Everything was fabulous.

Breakfast was well cooked, with a nice choice for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Beds were comfortable, although I found the 'summer weight ' quilt far too warm and slept with just the cover over me. Room was quite warm with only a small window. I liked that you were able to help yourself to fresh milk, bottled water, and tea, coffee and sugar at any time, and without feeling like you had to keep asking, as in some other hotels.

It is a very old building, but it felt weird to walk across the floor, sloping down quite sharply towards the bathroom as it did. Made one feel drunk even when sober! Lol The room also stayed quite bright at night mainly due to the two green fire exit lights that lit the room.

It was so clean and modern, it had lots of lovely little touches,like water,coffee etc in the room, ice machine in reception, a fridge on the landing with extra milk etc ,biscuits and plates and cutlery in case of needing to order food in when the restaurant was closed,very accommodating to all your needs and a beautiful shower room, lovely freshly cooked breakfast in a lovely garden room, decor was lovely, would definitely stay again. Also shutter blinds to windows which looked very nice.room not massive but very adequate for 2 people and the sofa to watch TV was a bonus.

A very warm welcome once we arrived. All staff that we met was lovely to us and our dog. The room was great for our one night stay. As my son is 19 years of age I should of got him his own room/bed. The sofa bed was adequate for one night only but I would only recommend it for children. Food was exceptional with varied breakfast options. I would stay again but book a second room for my grown son.

The sofa bed is not adequate for an adult. But, one night was okay for us.

I love this place , It is my second visit , which says it all . Spacious room , clean , brilliant facilities and the shower is really powerful. All staff are professional and friendly. Esther the owner is a star , has a great eye for detail with personnel touches that go along way . Breakfast is of a high standard with a good selection of menu . Sunday roast in my opinion you can't beat , excellent 👌. I will be back . Thank you team Esther ☺️
