Rooms felt clean, views were good through all windows on the third floor, and they have some delicious scotch whiskeys at the bar. Didn't eat at the hotel this time but I know from the previous experiences that the hotel food is also one of the better options in Killin.
I booked 3 double rooms and one of the rooms I got was definitely single (not matching the photos on Booking.com, single betside table), but we got it changed for the second night so all good. The heating didn't really work in one room so it was quite cold. The beds are on the small side (not bigger than a standard double) but comfy.

The Hotel is beautifully old and sits on the bank of the river Lockay with wonderful views. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful with lots of smiles. Inside there are amazing old photos of visitors, there has been a much loved Royal visitor, staff and scenery. My Daughter, dogs and myself stayed in an annexe room, it was very well fitted out and had everything we needed, there were doggy treats and beds left in the room too, very nice touch. We didn't see the Hotel bedrooms so can't comment but all the downstairs rooms are lovely and old also very cosy. Had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again.
We didn't find anything to dislike.

Hotel location in beautiful location. Bar Staff and Dinber/Breakfast staff all very good and friendly.
First impressions are always made at reception. On arrival no receptionist and no friendly staff at bar are either as advised by the note at reception. 15 minutes before anyone appeared. Receptionist who booked us in simply one of the most unwelcoming and disinterested employees I’ve ever had the displeasure to encounter. Room 12 quite small , 3/4 divan bed to make room look bigger with uncomfortable mattress. Check out and reception again .. didn’t give me a printout if my bill and proceeded to read it out loud item by item … just shocking and unprofessional

Set in a nice location. There are rooms situated inside the hotel and also rooms in an adjoining annex. The annex is nearby and the room is of a good size, with s large shower area. I like the fact the hotel has a shelter area for pedal cycles. I noticed several bikes were stored in a locked area at the hotel entrance , which would give reassurance to the cyclists that their bikes were stored safely.
They provide a continental breakfast which is lovely. A cooked breakfast is optional at an additional £15. I feel that is too much. A compromise would be an option for bacon rolls or poached egg and toast etc at alternative prices. It’s just a suggestion.

The staff were excellent, friendly and proffesional. The front of staff lady whe dealt with us was brilliant from start to finish very helpful and with a happy personalty. Food was of a high standard and the room was very good for the price. Overall an outstanding visit will always use when in the area.
We booked a twin but got a double which is hard as one of us gets very irritable juring the night would have been nice if at booking we were listened to. The hotel was cold especially in the restraunt and breakfast room. The heating in the room was not working but front of staff provided us with 2 heaters. So no problem during a very cold night. The food was very good except the cheese board the cheese did not have much of a taste but as stated would very much book again.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff were very friendly. We thought the food wS mediocre on the one evening we ate there which was a shame. On check out Angel was lovely and very informative
The food. When in Scotland we are looking for good wholesome Scottish Fayre and we feel the menu lacked some oomph!! Even hubby's curry which he chose because nothing else appealed to him, was bland. The room needs some TLC. Having been to a few hotels with our dog I think carpets needs to go and tiles or laminate floor needs to go in.

Room more than met expectations. Very large comfortable bed. Well heated but we turned it off as like a cool bedroom. Window overlooked river. Shower great & hot. Bar area small but adequate. Lovely real fire. Great selection. of drinks. Evening meal exceptional - had scallops followed by steak (very large and tender). Sky TV in a separate room for sports. Lots of locals use this hotel, which is great to tap into local knowledge. In the morning a nice selection of help yourself cold style buffet followed by either a cooked breakfast or porridge. Lovely village. Lots of walks from short to long. We travelled with two small dogs and were made more than welcome.
Can't really think of anything as really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is nice, and the staff offers excellent customer service. We did encounter an issue with our room, but it was resolved quickly and professionally. They even covered the cost of our evening meal, which was tasty and served in generous portions. Unfortunately, I can't review the breakfast since we left early.
There are always going to be problems with old buildings, especially concerning noise from the plumbing when your neighbour uses the facilities. I’m not a fan of dogs being allowed in restaurants while I’m eating; they should be kept in a separate area.

Everything about this hotel was close to perfect from the staff to the location to the food! Dinner was phenomenal! The hotel is dog friendly and the families with dogs dine in a separate room from those without. The steak was so delicious we would book again just for that!! The room we had was pretty big, nicely decorated and had a view of the hills and river that was to die for. Ample parking, friendly staff, wonderful. The area surrounding the hotel was lovely and we went for a walk around it. There's a lovely bench beside the river and plenty of outdoor seating. The bed was by far the most comfortable I'd slept in at any hotel.
Only small things! The water at reception hadn't been changed in the morning when we grabbed a glass and the apple juice at breakfast had a broken tap that wouldn't pour. The bathroom was a bit of an issue. If you're on the larger size it might be wise to call ahead and ask for a larger/ accessible bathroom as it is very cramped and I couldn't squeeze into the shower that has a sliding door without help from my other half. The gas shower also didn't keep warm which I presume may be caused by old pipes/plumbing not keeping pressure. Despite these issues, the stay was still 100% worth it and I am eager to return!

Pleasantly surprised how lovely this hotel was for the price we paid. The rooms have been upgraded to a good standard with modern en-suites and comfortable bedrooms. Quality towels and bedding too. We stayed in a dog friendly room which was spotless and they also provided a dog bed, treats and a water bowl for my 2 shitzus. The hotel itself has a warm welcoming atmosphere which made it ideal for an autumn break away. It also sits in a beautiful setting by Loch Tay which offers lovely walks. We will definitely be back soon!
Little not to like but some staff seemed more approachable than others but I am a stickler for good customer service, also we had dinner one evening which I thought was average, but with both these things I am being picky! It will definitely not stop us from going back as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Killin Hotel.
