From the very lovely rooms and comfy bed, the warm and inviting pub atmosphere, the wonderful breakfast (£15 but worth it), the staff being really great… and the dedicated parking lot that made everything extra easy, this inn is a wonderful place to rest your head. But above all one of the innkeepers gave me a very personal suggestion at breakfast of where to head that day, a very special place she shared that had spread her own mothers ashes… needless to say it was truly the most magnificent day because of her spending the time and personal story to suggest something to me, and I am forever grateful to her for her beautiful kindness!!

Excellent reception from Mark & Audrey (owners). Very welcoming and attentive. Sad that the future for this hostelry is in some doubt as current owners selling up. The room we occupied was very clean and comfortable. Slept well in the very comfortable bed. Room facilities included a fridge and well stocked tea and coffee makings. Breakfast (included in price ) was very good and plentiful. An evening meal was available within the bar, and although the menu was basic, there was enough choice and was plentiful and enjoyable. It's great that the hotel was extremely dog friendly.

Sense of tiredness throughout and a lack of staff (only the owners coping) was a shame, but reasons were obvious. Not open for 3 days a week and even then only from 4 pm. No late opening - for us, and I would imagine for most, this was not an issue.

The room was comfortable and clean. The evening meal and beer were really good. Breakfast too was good. The location was handy as we were walking the Rob Roy Way and it is right on the route.

The pub didn’t open until 4 - and that included access for guests. We arrived soaking wet on a Wednesday at 2.30pm. The cafe everyone seemed to recommend was closed on Wednesdays. There was a small shop open nearby and the lady there kindly told us we could shelter in the village Hall. The other negative about The White Stag is that they seemed very strict on timings for meals etc. - even though there were probably only about 4 people staying - and they only offered food to residents. While we were eating, a blackboard appeared on the bar saying last orders was at 8.45. This seemed very strange as there were only 3 or 4 people in and they could have just told us! Having said that - the meal was very good.

The staff were extremely helpful, the owner was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The food took a while to appear but when it did it was very good. All in all a very pleasant experience..

We booked this location specifically because we had our dog with us. Unfortunately, the Inn had changed hands in the period between booking and arrival. They now operate a no dogs policy. The new owner was very understanding and allowed us to stay with our dog, which was very helpful.

I had a double room (RM 3) which was large and had a bathtub. It was at the end of the hotel furthest from the bar which was great as it was very quiet. The pub is in a great location for the Rob Roy Way and is close to the bus stop. Bar was friendly and full of locals in the evening. Breakfast was only continental but was more than enough for me. Would happily stay here again.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

The location is perfect, such a lovely little village. The room was spotless, the bed was super comfy. The staff are so very welcoming. We spent a few hours in the Inn having wonderful food, breakfast was superb, made to order, you can tell the best of ingredients are used. It was a lovely atmosphere, sat beside the fire, so chilled. We would definitely recommend a stay here and we would absolutely come back again.

The only down side is we have to leave.

The owners, Audrey and Mark were extremely welcoming and very friendly. We arrived late Saturday night after the restaurant had closed, however they opened the kitchen back up and cooked us food that we had ordered. Audrey especially, ensured that we were comfortable and happy with our room and food. We asked for some advice for sunrise spots around the area, and she went around to locals and gathered information for us. At breakfast, she was constantly checking how we were, and just overall very bubbly. We were again late back on Sunday, and Audrey left a sticky note on the door asking what time we wanted our breakfast for Monday. She went above and beyond to ensure our time here was amazing. I haven't even begun to discuss how good the room and hotel itself was. Very clean, spacious and all facilities provided. Heating was good, there's USB points in the lamps for phone charging, etc. I would 100% recommend staying here if you're looking to visit Loch Lomond or the surroundings.

Either I'm stupid, or the room door was impossible to open from the inside. Each time, my friend had to keep doing it. Apart from that, nothing else was bad!

Breakfast area was well laid out clean and well presented. The help yourself continental breakfast had ample choice of fresh quality produce. The full scottish breakfast was cooked to perfection and set us up for the day ahead.

Only thing we didn't like was the fact we couldn't stay longer.

Despite being very short staffed, the manager worked hard to accommodate us with a very good evening meal. The housekeeping staff was also excellent in converting the double bed to twins on request.

Lack of communication prior to our stay re food and room layout .... all addressed on arrival.

A lovely bedroom with excellent facilities and thoughtful touches such as a fridge and a caffetiere with proper ground coffee in the room. We took our dog with us and found a dog bed, bowl and a small box of treats in the room too, another thoughtful touch not found elsewhere. Definitely the most dog-friendly place we have ever stayed. Mark and Audrey are exceptional hosts and can't be faulted. There's a well stocked bar and everything was scrupulously clean.

There is not much to dislike about the White Stag, though rooms at the front are subject to a bit of traffic noise, which is undersandable as the inn is on a main road (we had to keep the window open as it was a very warm night).
