- The hostel is in a very quite area, inside the green. - I asked for an earlier check in, to have keys and informations, without having the bed of course, and it was ok, so the staff was very kind keeping attention to my needs. - Rooms and beds are almost new and there is a very large common area; common bathrooms are clean and good. - There is lot of space to park the car. - There is a good breakfast for only 6 pounds (tea and coffe are free)

- Every bed hasn't its own light and recharge point, so it could be annoying serching a socket far from the bed; there isn't a personal space to lay your stuff (phone, pocket....). - No lockers, but maybe you don't need that - Towel costs some pounds

The helpful friendly reception staff. The freedom & facility to maintain our independence.

Hate to say it but in truth the clouds of swarms of midges outside by the main entrance weren't nice, but far worse was the style of the front door itself which was not closed properly half the time & so letting the midges in. In the morning someone had even tied the door wide open! The window in our room was open when we arrived and the fly screen was up so midges were coming in the room and many were dead on the window ledge too. It was disappointing as it could have been dealt with better.

Kitchen was a little small but well stocked with supplies, really helpful for a hiker on the West Highland Way. Staff was really helpful with understanding the amenities available in the small village as well, whether the pubs were open for dinner, the opening hours of the convenience stores and so on. Showers were hot as well.

Beds were a little creaky, and there were only 2 power sockets in the room, but an extension plug was provided! Do expect these kind of facilities on smaller places along the West Highland Way.

This is an outstanding youth hostel. Great facilities and kind staff. Travelers were great at sharing the kitchen. Cleaning up after oneself. I was allowed to use the washer, thank you very much!!!!

Some travelers are not considering that they are sharing a limited space. (1) Two guys were doing phone calls in the dining area at a normal to loud noise level. One for one hour and another for about half an hour. I would suggest that such calls are done in a corner away from most of the other guests and that signs informs people of the option. (2) I slept in a six bed bunkroom. We had one guy going to bed at 1:30 AM and not being particularly quiet. (3) There was one guy that sat at one six person table and just let his stuff lay around on the table while he was doing other things. He was occupying the table during the whole afternoon and morning.

It is a hostel with mostly bunk beds but we have three normal beds in a very big room. There were shelves, hooks, a sink with a mirror in the room, lots of space. You could have a wee breakfast or eat your food in the dining room. There were complimentary tea and coffee, as well as juice in the morning. You were asked to wash the dishes after the meal.

The WiFi was only in the dining room or at the reception area, no or very poor WiFi in the room.

Bigger hostel with good facilities. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. We got a warm welcome and the guy at reception provided some info on the opening times of the pubs in town etc. Big dry room for wet gear, big dining room and nice lounge to chill out in. Nice breakfast - don't expect anything fancy, but for hostel standards still a lot of choice. Go for dinner in the Rod&Reel pub - it may not look like much but it was the best food we got on the entire WHW!

The showers could have been a bit cleaner.

The kitchen was great for cooking an easy meal. The staff was really nice.

We’ve missed some additional chairs in our room and some additional hooks near the washing basin would have been great.

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful after an exhasting day on the West Highland Way. We wanted to upgrade to a private room and it was easily sorted. Everything was closed in town by the time we got there, but the hostel offered pizza and beer- a great pick-me-up. Room was clean and cozy Kitchen was well equipped and clean

beds were a little on the stiff side, didn't have sockets and a small light like in other hostels

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly particularly John and Elizabeth. I would like to say that these two members of staff went above and beyond in being friendly, were always please to see me and make time to chat about my day and other things. James and Mollie were also very nice people to meet although our paths did not cross so much. The hostel itself was near perfect and lived up to the expectations of a what a hostel should be. The bed was comfy as was the lounge and an endless supply of tea suited me well!

My only criticism is that on hotter days the lounge and bedroom were stuffy and could do with better ventilation or air con
