Perfect location, we wanted to break our journal home to Yorkshire having spent 8days in the Isle of Skye on a walking holiday. Our room had a fabulous view across the lock, wonderful scenery, the beds were comfy, good shower with the option of a bath, all the staff were happy, smiley and attentive, the restaurant staff ensured we were happy by checking all was ok and was there anything else they could get for us, which was appreciated thank you. We really enjoyed our evening meal of mussels for starters and fajitas for mains - delicious!
Not a problem but the breakfast buffet only had scrambled eggs, option of poached or fried would been nice, my partner was a little disappointed not to see porridge on the menu as he'd enjoyed lovely Scottish porridge every morning at the Hotels/B&Bs we'd stayed at on our tour round the Isle of Skye.

Location was fantastic, the lounge area was cosy and very relaxing for morning coffee, and evening drinks with ideal background music, the furniture matched the ambience and there was a good selection of different settings for coffee, working on a laptop, having a drink in a group or a bar meal. The evening meal was very good with both a menu of the the day and full dining menu. Carparking was also great as we had no difficulty parking during any of the 4 days despite the hotel being full.
The room would have benefitted from some sidelights or at least bedside lamps, and the TV channels would not work on the last 2 nights and just said no connection, although there was heavy rain on those evenings

It's an old building with character but It was clean and comfortable and you still had Wifi . The staff were very friendly and attentive without being on top of you. The food was incredible we stayed Half board and had dinner in the restaurant.. When you first looked at the menu you thought well, average but the way it was cooked and the quality ingredients were superb. Breakfast war incredible. Plenty of choice of juices, cereals, fruit and cooked breakfast. Very good especially for the money. The view was wonderful ove the Loch

Location of Arrochar Hotel was amazing, overlooking Loch Long and the surrounding hillside. The room was ok, enough room for the two of us and the dog. The room included coffee and tea making facilities too. The evening meal was good and quickly served to us. Breakfast was very very good, buffet style so could go up as often as you wanted to. We had to sit in the bar area as the restaurant does not allow dogs in there, which was fine.
However, the hotel was very, very warm to the point it was uncomfortable at times. The shower in the room consistently dripped into the tray, but did not disturb us. As it was very very warm we had the window open which meant it was noisy during the night as it is a very busy road behind the hotel.

Loved, the situation and the staff, the atmosphere and the food and the relaxed feel. It's an unpretentious no frills hotel run by incredibly hard-working staff right on the shores of the loch. It welcomes dogs and it's a great base for walkers and for anyone visiting the area. However if you are expecting a hotel like holiday inn. This is not. I understand they are refurbishing some rooms I think I had an older one but it was clean and comfortable, It takes you back in time but that is part of the charm. The reviews are so varied but I would say this just shows if the right people come they will love it. The food was delicious and even the evening entertainment was good and a lot of fun not normally something I join in with. I will definitely be back with my dogs and my walking boots. They will do a packed lunch for walkers and there is a form to fill out if you go for a walk with contact details which I thought was really good.
You can hear noisy guests walking back to their rooms but that's not the fault of the hotel. Maybe a few signs to remind people that other people could be asleep. And I do like to see cruelty free shower gel and soap and I'm not sure this was the case but I could be wrong.

Stayed at Arrochar Hotel and had a unique experience! The hotel has a traditional Scottish charm, which really makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. It's located in a quiet village near Loch Ness, adding to the mystical atmosphere. The rooms were clean, but everything was quite old and could use some updates. The breakfast was a standard English breakfast, good enough to start the day. The journey to the hotel was also memorable—we spent the whole ride listening to Scottish fairy tales, which made the stay feel even more magical (and a little eerie!). Definitely a place with character and history. If you love authentic Scottish vibes, this hotel is worth a visit!

Liked the staff very friendly
The room was very small, even for 1 man at 6ft 4 inch toilet very small, the toilet pan was very badly stained ( brown) stains bed was very small, view out bedroom window view on bogging very dirty back yard, I've stayed in the hotel a few times , worked experience ever, I might be back ill have to think about it, also I had beef burger and chips n salad, other people in the bar had chips n fish, there was a really bad smell in the room smelt like sum thing was off, I don't know if it was my beef burger or other food, I went to bed feeling bad and sick, was sick in the toilet, had bad night sleep, went for breakfast this morning could only eat a couple of things, had to leave early about 8.30 to go home with food poison sorry to say but it was a bad experience

The location is stunning. Perfect if you're looking for affordable accommodation when completing setting off for some highland walking. Also, the hotel put on an evening entertainer. This was a singer who was extremely good as a muscian and singer. He sang popular songs which everyone enjoyed. The hotel has very good Wifi considering their location. They also allow dogs, which is very helpful if you are a dog lover.
The hotel could do with some sprucing up. Although I appreciate this is a listed building and therefore restricts any work the owners can do. My room required work to be done on the windows and dampness.

The hotel was beautifully situated on the shores of Loch Long. Easy access from the main road. The staff welcomed us with a smile. The reception area was bright and warm.and the staff were very helpful with the signing in formalities, making it seem very simple. We received an upgrade to a room with a Loch view. The room was clean and had a kettle along with tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits .lots of hot water for a bath (which we prefer) or a shower. The breakfast 😋 was substantial with lots of choice. Parking was plentiful. Would return and recommend the hotel to family and friends. Great value for the price.
We disliked nothing about the hotel

I thought this was exceptional value for the money. Stayed on Sunday night in November. Room was clean, everything worked well. Having stayed twice now, i can recommend the food here, v good quality and portions. Excellent steak and ale pie, decent amount of steak! And really good smoked salmon(had both times), full of flavour and texture, probably locally sourced i would think. Wide choice at buffet breakfast too. Hotel a bit old fashioned and ideally could do with revamp, but this is not really an issue for me, i am more price sensitive....! Good for citylink coaches from and to Fort william which stop a few hundred yards away.
nothing stood out as being poor.
