My husband and I decided to visit Scotland for NY. We stayed 29th Dec to 2nd Jan. What a lovely stay. The minute we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome by Lewis. We had a deluxe room... absolutely immaculate and very comfortable. Every evening we went to the bar. All of the staff were chatty and attentive. .. notably Lewis, Kris and Chico. We had a wonderful NYE. Lovely, lovely locals, fab band, pipers and fireworks. Even though it was busy, the staff were still wonderful. We will definitely stay again. A huge thank you for a fantastic stay... especially to Lewis and Kris!
NO issues at all.

Didn't have breakfast. Basic room but spotless, staff were friendly as soon as we walked in the door. Atmosphere was also really good in the bar, had a lovely meal served by lovely people. Outside seating area which we used until rain came on and then we moved inside and stayed in the bar for the rest of the night. Old building which meant good soundproofing, heard nothing despite the property being full. Tried to stay another night but it was fully booked. Will definitely be back.
There wasn't anything we didn't like, it was great value for money

As soon as we entered the room we were amazed. The layout and decor was brill and exceptionally tidy. There was a kettle and various teas/espressos to pick from which was a life saver after having been climbing Ben nevis that day. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, going out of their way to make sure we were well accommodated. We originally asked for a room with three single beds, but this was with one hours notice as it was a spontaneous booking. Although they weren’t able to do this, they did a great job at finding an alternative by providing another room for one of us to use. By far the BEST hotel experience I’ve had.
Loved every minute of it. 10/10 would stay again.

For our last day in Scotland, we wanted a good bed, having a last good scottish meal and pub ambiance. And we were very happy to find this under only one roof at Anchor Inn ! Warm welcome from hosts, good restaurant, warm ambiance, comfortable room, nice rest before leaving !
The breakfast is served at table upon the time you ask for the previous evening. Unfortunately, it seemed there was some trouble that day in particular (not usual staff ?), so breakfast was much later than expected with a few availability issues. Nothing scandalous however.

When we pulled up outside the Inn we both said, ‘ Oh well it’s only for one night’! It is an old roadside property and does not look appealing. But as soon as we opened the door we changed our mind. The bar is bright and interesting, the dining area is welcoming and nicely furnished but the real highlight is the staff. We were warmly welcomed by Chris behind the bar who is friendly, entertaining and very funny. Just what you need in a pub! He asked us about our preferences and then promptly upgraded us to ‘the best room in the house’! It was a great room with nice furnishings, a good bathroom, great wifi and probably the most comfortable bed we have had in the past 10 weeks away! Fortunately we ate there too. We were served by Jamie who is every bit as entertaining and friendly as Chris. We enjoyed a very good meal and a few local beverages.
Nothing!

The Anchor Inn was great. The staff and the locals were very friendly and the banter was great. The food from breakfast to dining in the evening was very good and appetising. Our room was spacious with plenty of room and very clean. The housekeepers were nice and friendly and were there if we needed anything. The view was lovely too. Wished we could have stayed longer than the 10 days.
The fact we had to leave.

The rooms are behind the pub itself in a self contained building, modern, warm and comfortable. We had the upstairs 'attic' room with the velux window which had a beautiful view of the Loch. Loved our stay in a lovely little peaceful and picturesque village on the Loch. Slept so well as it was sound proof.
We didn't find anything that displeased us. I suppose if we had to pick something, it would be that the windows in the bedroom and common area of the units just needed regular cleaning after rain to make the most of such a fantastic view! This, however, is a very minor thing.

Remembering that the facilities are all the basic essentials, The Anchor was exceptionally clean throughout and I was impressed by the superb quality of painting and decorating. The room size was adequate, the bathroom a little cramped but it served our purpose well.
The only thing I didn't like was the rooms being separate from the main building and being necessary to walk outside and involving several sets of steps; something that was not clear when I booked a ground-floor room. Not good for an 87 year old. But this was somewhat understandable bearing in mind the geology of the location and offset by almost every other benefit.

The location was handy for our one night stay, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Food at the pub was hearty and reasonably priced. The property didn’t have any facilities as such, but was right on the edge of the loch and close to the town amenities and lots of local hikes. It wouldn’t have been my first choice if others were available (it was a weekend and there were a few local events on so there were not many other options) but we were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness.
In the scheme of things our room was probably a bit over priced, but the local events that weekend were probably the reason. Biggest annoyance was the fire exit light lit up the whole room while you were trying to sleep! And we were on the ground floor with a room above who were a bit noisy late into the night.

Nothing for the stay . If I was going to puck on something it could be parking as was on the road and space could be limited but did not effect our stay
