Breakfast very good both mornings - we tried different options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One slight moan - bottleneck at the self-service hot drinks station, which has been a long-running thing with me in hotels, at buffets etc. By standing all the hot water/tea/coffee pots next to each other, you ensure only one person can operate at a time, so others hang around waiting. Space the pots out along the table with cups and saucers in between and put the milks and sugars further along past them so that someone else can move in and starting filing their cup. And leave space so that if you are filling two cups - as many visitors do - there is room to navigate. Not a major upheaval needed, surely?

The location, the food and the super friendly staff! The area is beautiful even with the storm Amy passing by. The food from the hotel restaurant was lovely every time! We ate there exclusively because the ambiance is very inviting and the staff is incredibly welcoming as well as the food and drink being delicious.

The noise from the floorboards in the room at night. A little loud at night but only when walked on. Of the 7 nights we stayed here, only once was an upstairs neighbor moving around at night.

Location was fantastic, food was tasty and room a bit small but comfy bed and stunning view of loch

Hostess tray in room, worst ive seen, not even a biscuit to have with a coffee. Shower would not regualte, was either freezing or scalding hot, made it really difficult to have a shower. After we were served our evening meal, staff passed by a few times but no one asked if we wanted anything else. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, No cups no milk, no bread in bread bin a few people asked but took a while to come out. Worst though fire alarm went off at 7.15am and them 5 mins later, were advised someone burnt their toast which set it off.

Callum checked us and was very efficient and very helpful. Our suitcases were carried up to our rooms which was good as the staircase was steep and spiral. So glad we didn’t have to go to the next floor which was even steeper and twistier. Very good menu choice for our evening meal and the food was lovely. Croissants were super. All the staff, Iona, Reece and a lovely girl, didn’t get her name on at breakfast time. The senior member of staff on duty in the morning was great too. Very helpful. As we were saturated when we came back from a days walking it was nice to have heating on in your room to help dry out our soggy clothes. Loved the shower, nice to have some room, in fact I liked the layout of the room too.

Slight hitch on Friday morning but breakfast eventually appeared which everyone was grateful for. Trying to collect all the bits and bobs to have a bowl of cereal was a pain in the neck. Just put a bowl of sugar and a jug of milk on the table.

Lovely seafront hotel with great facilities. The bar and restaurant areas are very nice and a good range on the menu. It is only a short 2 minute drive to Helensburgh seafront with plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The rooms were very nice and well decorated with comfy beds. The staff were all very helpful. Would recommend.

The room was extremely hot as we could not turn off the towel rail which lead to an extremely uncomfortable night sleep. We spoke to reception who gave as an electric fan which helped. The coffee at breakfast was not very good.

Brilliant location - easy to reach by public transport (train, bus for the last two miles), and a relaxing view across the loch. The bed was great - I slept like a top. And the young staff was positive and did their stuff. The breakfast menu was good and included poached eggs.

Frankly, nothing. It's an old building which has been refurbished so there are awkward corners and unexpected fire doors - but I would rather have that than a new building with no character.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room was perfect and charming, cleanliness standards high. We had travelled up from England for a good friends funeral and requested an early check in to freshen up before attending and the staff met our request by making this possible. Stunning location to greet the morning with and when travelling up to visit again we will definitely would stay again.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing as the fried eggs were hard on the yolk and we didn’t have the heart to complain as there were a few other guests waiting for theirs. Plenty of choice on cereals toast etc

The room & en-suite was very compact but the bed was extremely comfortable. All staff were friendly, helpful & welcoming even though they were extremely busy. We had our evening meal there & that was very nice & good value for money.

The road noise which disturbed us at 6.50am. Also the spiral staircase…if we’d known about that we wouldn’t have booked it as I have reduced mobility & it was hard work carrying overnight bag up to the room.

Excellent setting in front of the river Clyde! Ground floor has even lovely views too. A hearty breakfast to set up the day ahead. Lovely bar and service. Evening meals with lots of choices. All staff very helpful and courteous.

We had 2 rooms, one a double and one a single. The single could have been cleaner in the bathroom but apart from that excellent layout although the coffee satchels could also have a decaff option.

Brilliant location with lots of parking. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely cooked breakfast with perfect poached eggs. Beautiful immaculately clean room and bathroom.

I had asked for a water view if possible. We didn’t get one and the hotel was clearly almost empty in terms of rooms. There was a faulty catch on our bathrooms door so wouldn’t close properly. The entrance porch going into the conservatory vestibule was dirty with a lot of black (mould or dirt) on the woodwork. These are very small criticisms but easily resolved and didn’t tAke away from our stay, just stopped it being 10/10
